With rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence under center, it allows you to build the offense in a way you see fit. Add in the signings of right guard Brandon Scherff and wide receiver Christian Kirk in free agency and you have an emerging offense.
On the defensive side, they have a young emerging superstar in the defensive end, Josh Allen, as well. They may not have stacked picks in terms of draft capital, but their cap space situation is one of the best in the league.ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ A great proposition for free agents is simply paying them more than the other guy.
14 Philadelphia Ea𓃲gles ꦗ
Now, not everyone is sold on Jalen Hurts being the franchise quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, but they're positioned in a way that entices those on either side of that argument.
Their three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft allow you to either draft significant additions on both sides o🐷f the ball to aid Hurts, or alternatively, you can use those picks to draft a quarterback or package them to land a veteran. When it comes to franchise mode and drafting, the Eagles might be the most entertaining choice.
13 🅠 New York Jets 🍸
Now, it needs to be stated upfront that the New York Je💝ts are a toug✅h rebuilding project, but their pieces make it enticing enough to invest in the potential. In addition to their core trio of rookie offensive playmakers quarterback Zach Wilson, running back Michael Carter, and wide receiver Elijah Moore they also have a nice crop of draft picks.
This doesn't even take into account their emerging offensive line, as well. The real challenge will be using the cap space and draft picks to build up a rather lackluster defensive roster outside of star defensive lineman Quinnen Williams.
12 ♓ Los Angeles Chargers ﷽
It may feel🐬 low for a team with pure superstar talent on both sides of the ball, but the Los Angeles C♈hargers still have plenty of holes that make them lesser than the other teams on the list. Justin Herbert seems primed to be the next great young quarterback and is surrounded by great weapons.
On defense, you can use their all-world safety talent, Derwin James, as much as you'd like, but unlike Herbert you're going to have a tough time, initially, finding any other bright spots on that defense outside of pass rushers Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.
11 ꧅ Green Bay Packers ﷽
The reality of the 2021 NFL season was that it was likely the last time we saw Aaron Rodgers in a Green Bay Packers uniform and/or throwing to Davante Adams. It turns out that the latter of those two tꦡhings was the eventuality, with Ad🥂ams now a member of the Las Vegas Raiders.
With their new draft compensation, the Packers have a good number of draft picks you'll need to use to rebuild a team that was contending for years. You'll need to make the most out of Rodger's final years as you try and form a contender once again.
10 ﷺ 🅘 Dallas Cowboys

The Miami Dolphins are a team that's seen a lot of changes as of late and have quietly emerged as a pretty interesting option for franchise mode.
Provided you've downloaded the latest rosters via the file-sharing feature on Madden 22, you'll see what makes the Dolphins a viable selection. The addition of superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill adds a dynamic playmaker opposite of rookie wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. If you don't enjoy using quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the team has plenty of picks in the NFL Draft that you can package together to move up and draft someone you want to lead your franchise.
7 🌞 Denver Bronc﷽os
The Denver Broncos have felt like a team that was simply a quarterback away from making noise in the AFC, and with their tradღe for quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks in the 2022 offseason, those questions will be answered.
He comes in and immediately adds a level of consistency to that position group the Broncos have lacked since Peyton Manning's retirement. The offense has plenty of weapons, and the defense is good enough to hold its own. The real issue is whether you feel like battling against what many consider to be the toughest division in the entirety of the NFL in the AFC West.

A year ago it'd be hard to recommend anyone outside of the fanbase to use the Las Vegas Raiders in franchise mode. These days you'd be a fool not to consider them, despite how tough the division they belong to has become.
The trade with the Green Bay Packers for all-pro wide receiver Davante Adams reunites him with his college quarterback Derek Carr. Add in the fact that they improved their defensive line with the signings of Chandler Jones and Bilal Nichols, among other pieces and it's hard to deny how good this team out west can be. The one real concern is how consistent and viable their offensive line will be, but that didn't stop Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals from making the Super Bowl last season.
