In the middle of the 2019 season, the Los Angeles Rams traded Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens. First drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015, Peters had two excellent first couple seasons in the league; in his rookie year, he led the NFL in interceptions (eight), touchdowns (two), yards (🔯280), and pass deflections (26). In his sophomore season, Peters received First-Team All-Pro honors. Unfortunately, Peters suffered a torn ACL in preseason that knocked him out for the entire 2021 campaign.

While Peters specializes in getting interceptions, his ability to catch (82) the ball is fairly good. He’s quick on his feet (90) with similar ratings in speed (91) and accelerati💎on (90). On defense, Peters operates better in man coverage (90) but is more than capable of holdin♊g his own in a zone (85) scheme.

15 Marshon Lattimore, New Orleans Saints - 88 ꩵ

For the most part, Marshon Lattimore has experienced success in his five sea🅠sons with the New Orleans Saints. Lattimore has been s💝elected to four Pro Bowls and has recorded at least one interception each season. In 2017, Lattimore won Defensive Rookie of the Year behind a career-high five interceptions.

Only 25-years-old, Lattimore projects to be a quality defender for quite a few more seasons. Among cornerbacks, he has one of the highest ratings in speed (93), agility (91), and acceleration (94). Lattimore isn't the best at actual defending in both man (87) and zone (85) coverage, but he has the Superstar X-Factor label, whicඣh means he can instantly create a high-impact play at any time.

13 🥃 Kendall Fuller, Washington Commanders - 88

Starting his career in Washington, Kendall Fuller was traded to Kansas City in a deal for quarterback Alex Smith in 2018. With the Chiefs, Fuller instantly became the top cornerback when the team subsequently traded their incumbent star Marcus Peters to the Rams. However, Fuller’s debut season with Kansas City ended in a wrist injury. T𓂃he following year, Fuller was a major defensive factor in Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory over San Francisco, with key pass deflections and an interception that sealed the win. After winning the Super Bowl, Fuller signed a four-year, $40 million deal to return to Washington.

I𒊎n either 🍌man (91) or zone (87) coverage, Fuller is an above-average defender. With his speed (90) and acceleration (92), Fuller’s able to keep up with most receivers in the league. Fuller has excellent play recognition (90) and change of direction (90), so if the offense tries to execute any play-action plays he won’t be easily fooled.

11 J.C. Jackson, New En🎶gland ♑Patriots - 89

For t🔯he past few seasons, Stephon Gilmore received the majority of attention in the New England Patriots secondary. But once Gilmore was shipped off to Carolina, J.C. Jackson emerged as the top cornerback for the team. Jackson followed up a career-high nine interceptions in 2020 with eight interceptions in 2021, including one touchdown. Because of Jackson's excellent play, there are reports of the that could price him out of New England as he heads into free agency.

With his above-avera𒁏ge speed (92) and acceleration (92), Jackson is one of the better man-to-man (91) defenders in the league. He's extremely intelligent on the field in recognizing plays (94), allowing him to adjust ✅almost seamlessly. If New England doesn't retain Jackson, another team will score a superstar cornerback in free agency.

10 Xavien Howard, Miami Dolphins - 89 𓂃 𒉰

Since being drafted in 2016, Xavien Howard has remained one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL. He led the league 🦹in interceptions in 2018 (seven) and 2020 (ten), which awarded him two Pro Bowl selections and one First-Team All-Pro. Howard regressed in his total interceptions in 2021 wi🍌th only five, but still managed another Pro Bowl selection.

Howard has one of the highest awareness (95) and catch (84) ratings among cornerbacks, which makes him a magnet for the football. His ability to locate incoming passes and change direction (87) helps him lock down his side of the 🌄field. Howard has played on both the left and right sides of the field, so his flexibility on defense is a bonus.

9 🥂 Darius Slay Jr., Philadelph🎉ia Eagles - 90

After seven seasons with ⭕the Detroit Lions that included three Pro Bowl selections and one First-Team All-Pro recognition, Darius Slay Jr. took his talents to the City of Brotherly Love and the Philadelphia Eagles. In his first season, Slay only had one i🐽nterception and had the lowest number of pass deflections in his career (six). Slay’s down season could be due to him playing on the right side for the first time in his career since he played on the left when he was in Detroit. He bounced back in 2021, snagging three interceptions and earning another Pro Bowl selection.

Slay’s excellent speed (93) and acceleration (92) makes him one of the best 𒆙zone defenders (94) in the game. He has high awareness (90) to help recognize what the offense is doing (90). If needed, Slay is also skilled enough as a defensive back to guard receivers man-to-man (86). Slay can also disrupt the receiver at the line of scrimmage with his 🍌above-average press rating (85).
