Vampires have been a part of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering since the very beginning, with the printing of Sengir Vampire in Alpha. The vampires of Magic have come a long way since Alpha's release in 1993, and while they've popped up across the game's multiverse, they've become synonymous with the gothic horror plane of Innistrad.
As the most recent set to take place on this plane, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Innistrad: Crimson Vow is centered around a vampiric wedding between Olivia Voldaren and Edgar Markov. It's safe to say that this is one of the most vampire-heavy sets in the game's history. With such a massive amount of vampires, the set has introduced many heavy-hitting blood-suckers to the game, so today, we're going to examine the vampires of Crimson Vow to see which are the strongest!
10 ༒ Markov Enforcer 𒊎
A mono-red 6/6 for six mana, whenever Markov enforcer or another vampire enters the battlefield under its owner's control, its owner can have it fight a target creature. As a 6/6 is a pretty substantial creature, this allows it to serve as repeated removal for a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:vampire-tribal deck. As if this repeated removal wasn't substantial enough, whenever a creature dealt damage by Markov Enforcer dies, its controller creates a blood token.
9 🔯 💫 Edgar, Charmed Groom
A central figure in the wedding of Crimson Vow, Edgar Charmed Groom is the second iteration of the character of Edgar Markov and is a solid Orzhov vampire tribal card. Buffing all vampires by +1/+1, if Edgar would die, he is instead transformed into the artifact, Edgar Markov's Coffin.
At the beginning of its controller's upkeep, this coffin creates a 1/1 vampire token with lifelink, putting a bloodline counter on itself, transforming back into Edgar once it has three of these counters on it. This allows it to make a veritable vampire over time while making Edgar himself rather difficult to remove.
8 ✤ Midnight Arsonist
While Markov Enforcer functions as vampire-based removal, Midnight Arsonist allows a player to turn their vampires into artifact removal. Upon entering the battlefield, this vampire destroys a number of artifacts without mana abilities equal to the number of vampires its owner controls. While this card is unfortunately unable to remove an opponent's mana rocks, it is still able to destroy a multitude of high-power artifacts within a single card.
7 𓆏 𝓀 Crossway Troublemakers
A great card for aggressive, offense-focused vampire-tribal decks, Crossway Troublemakers is a black 5/5 for six mana that provides all attac꧟king vampires its owner controls with deathtouch and lifelink.
In addition to making vampires more valuable attackers, whenever a vampire controlled by this card's owner dies, they may pay two life to draw a card. Due to the lifelink this card provides, this loss of life is completely negligible, making this card a great asset for vampire-tribal commander decks.
6 Scion Of Opuꦚlence
For only three mana, Scion of Opulence is a mono-red vampire that can help to reduce the loss of a vampire, causing its controller to create a treasure token whenever a nontoken vampire dies. While this is solid in its own right, for the cost of one red mana, this 3/1 can sacrifice two artifacts such as the treasures it creates to exile the top card of its owner's library, allowing that card to be played that turn. Between its treasure generating abilities and its "impulsive" draw capabilities, Scion of Opulence offers great value for three mana.
5 Henrik♊a Domnathi
Henrika Domnathi is a four-mana doubled-sided legendary vampire that can synergize with creatures with flying, deathtouch, and lifelink. While the card enters the battlefield as a 1/3 with flying, at the beginning of combat on its controller's turn, it can transform into Henrika, Infernal Seer. a 3/4 with the previously mentioned three keywords, for the cost of three additional mana, Henrika provides all creatires under its owner's control with +1/+0 as long as they have flying, deathtouch, or lifelink.
4 Olivia, Crimson🌃 Bride
The central antagonist of Crimson Vow, Olivia, Crimson Bride is a great source of reanimation. A 3/4 with flying and haste for six mana, whenever Olivia attacks, she returns any creature from the graveyard to the battlefield, tapped and attacking, even keeping that card in play as long as its owner controls a legendary vampire. When paired with discard outlets and cards such as Entomb which are capable of tutoring cards directly into a player's graveyard, Olivia is capable of cheating the most powerful creatures in the game into play.
3 𓆉 Strefan, Maurer Progenito💙r
The commander of the newly released 168澳洲幸运ღ5开奖网:Vampi꧙ric Bloodline preconstructed Commander deck, Strefan, Maurer Progenitor is an excellent new option for those looking to play a vampire-tribal deck without using the original Edgar Markov. A Rakdos 3/2 with flying for four mana, at the end of each of its owner's turns, this card creates a blood token for each player who lost life that turn. When this card attacks, two blood tokens can be sacrificed to put a vampire directly into play, tapped and attacking, even providing that card with indestructible until the end of the turn! Like Olivia, this is a great way of cheating high impact cards into play and avoiding high mana costs.
2 ♒ Cemetery Gatekeeper
Cemetery Gatekeeper is an efficient and powerful vampire, offering tons of value for only two mana. A red 2/1 with first strike, when this creature enters the battlefield, it exiles a card from a graveyard. While single target removal from a graveyard isn't too much, whenever an opponent plays a card that shares a type with the exiled card, they take two damage. This means that for two mana, this vampire can deal significant sums of damage over the course of a game.
1 ꦏ Welcoming Vampire ಌ
For many years, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:white cards have struggled in a key aspect of Magic: drawing additional cards. Luckily, the newly printed Welcoming Vampire offers white a reliable new card draw engine that can provide an additional card every turn. For three mana, this 2/3 flier allows its controller to draw a card once per turn when a creature with power two or less enters the battlefield under their control. As white is synonymous with effi💛cient and low-to-the-ground creatures and armies of small tokens, Welcoming Vampire can essentially ensure that any white deck will be drawing a minimum of two cards per turn.
