A widespread bug in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic the Gathering Arena is making in-game events completely unplayable for some, and illegitimately giving wins to others. It has allegedly become such a problem that some players may have used it to impact theꦆ recent Arena 🍸Open tournament.
The bug is affecting people who hit Mythic rank while signed up to an in-game event, such as a draft or sealed play. On hitting the top rank, players are reporting that they are being reset to beginner, losing both the visual identifier and the ability to earn any further rewards. However, the bigger problem is t♊hat progression after that point is impossible, with neither wins nor losses being registered for ongoing events or daily quests.
First reported two weeks ago by player on the Wizards of the Coast forums, the bug has seemingly gone unresolved since then. This led them to later posting on the to raise further awareness of the bug, where other players have since added their own experiences of it. According to Twidget, it has become so bad that people are using their inability to win or lose as a way of boosting others in protest. By repeatedly conceding, these players can give easy wins to their opponents, and can do it as many times as they like as the concession isn't marked as a loss on their own account.
This is potentially a major problem for Arena, as it is mere days away from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt's release on September 16. Set releases are usually full of events to take part in, and players affected by the problem won't be able to join, play, or earn any rewards for doing so. This also seriously affects the players who are unaffected by the bug, as Mythic progress is measured against every other player; if wins and losses for some are not being registered, it is impossible to accurately place where other players are in comparison.
It potentially impacting the Arena Open in particular is bad, as it is a formal competitive event with a real monetary prize up for grabs. If Wizards discovers bug-protest-fuelled boosting has gone on during it, it could put the entire event into question. It wouldn't be surprising if there were account bans to come out of this, though Wizards has yet to comment.
It isn't the only issue that has affected Arena in recent months. Particularly following the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:mobile port launch in January, and the release of Historic Horizons at the end of August, it has been plagued by server and UI problems. Wizards🐠 had to apologise to players at the beginning of September for the instability by giving away free cards and cosmetics to players through the gift code.
