168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: the Gathering artist Johannes Voss has launched a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kickstarter campaign to cre𒆙ate a range of playmats based on his art, including one of the happiꦏest dogs ever included in the game.
In collaboration with (Original Magic Art), Wizards of the Coast, and UltraPro, Voss is looking for £9013 to release a limited collection of six different playmats – roll-up mats designed to protect cards from rough tables. The art comes from six of Voss' Magic cards: Carpet of Flowers from his recent Secret Lair, Gallia of the Endless Dance from Theros Beyond Death, Gift of Orzhova from Gatecrash, the Prismatic Bridge and an Island from Kaldheim, and Plains from Jumpstart (unofficially known as the Dog Plains, for obvious reasons).
At the time of writing, is over halfway to its goal with 29 days left to go, all but guaranteeing its success. The mats start at $40 (£29) for one, with shipping ranging between $5 and $30 depending on the region it is being sent to. As is usual with Kickstarter, payments won't be processed until October 13, when the campaign closes.
Each one features Voss' art extended exclusively for the mats, with a minimally obtrusive MTG logo in the corner (required due to agreements with Wizards of the Coast) and stamped with Voss' signature. Unfortunately, hand-written signatures were not available due to COVID precautions, however OMA has promised that the stamp used for these mats will be destroyed, to ensure that no identical print run will ever be made again. As part of the campaign's stretch goals, two unconfirmed additional playmats will be available, voted for by backers from all of Voss' portfolio. With stunning art like , , and all up for voting, whatever is picked will probably be a great one.
All of Voss' art is incredible (good enough for him to bag his own Secret Lair limited print run in the latest superdrop), but it's that last Plains that is the most exciting inclusion here. Lands in Jumpstart each had their own themes, based on the overall theme of the booster pack it came in. Voss illustrated the dog-themed Plains, resulting in an adorable fluffy dog thriving and loving life in a flower-filled field.
This feels like a good use of Kickstarter. Artists funding limited prints of their own art that players can actually use, that otherwise would never have been printed, is something that has been done a few times in the past (most notably by ). It's a nice contrast from when 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:companies misuse Kickstarter as a way of♉ gauging interest or expecting audiences to take the financial risk for them.
The Kickstarter campaign will run until October 13, ༒2021, w🍌ith an estimated delivery date of March 2022.
