With an ever-growing selection of cards to choose from, as time progresses, nearly every type of deck is given access to potent new tools to help their decks grow in power. As goblins are one of the most iconic tribes in Magic's history, it should be no shock that goblins have received plenty of new impressive cards over the past few years. So today, we're going to examine several great new cards of recent history that are perfect for any Goblin-based Commander deck.
15 Den Of The Bugbear 🍌
Den of the Bugbear is a deceptively potent land card that can be used to create additional goblins for its controller when they're in a pinch. Entering the battlefield tapped if its controller controls two or more other lands, this land can be tapped to produce one red mana. However, the appeal of this card within a Goblin-Tribal deck comes in the form of its non-mana ability.
For four mana, Den of the Bugbear can become a 3/2 goblin until the end of the turn that upon attacking creates a 1/1 tapped and attacking goblin token. This means that even after the likes of a board wipe, this land's controller will be able to immediately start rebuilding their goblin army.
14 🦹Hobgoblin Bandit Lord 🌼
Printed in Adventures in the Forgotten Realms alongside Den of the Bugbear, Hobgoblin Bandit Lord is an♏ excellent goblin that allows its controller to deal significant amounts of extra damage in a Commander game.
A 2/3 goblin rogue for three mana, Hobgoblin Bandit Lord provides all other goblins its owner controls with +1/+1, allowing even the most insignificant of goblin tokens to pose a more notable threat. Additionally, for one red mana, this goblin can be tapped to deal X damage to any target where X is equal to the number of goblins that entered the battlefield under its owner's control that turn!
13 ♈ Conspicuous Snoop 𝔍
Conspicuous Snoop is an efficient goblin that is capable of providing its controller with additional card access for the low cost of two red mana. A 2/2 that causes its controller to play with the top card of their library revealed, Conspicuous Snoop allows its controller to play the top card of their library as long as it's a goblin. This means that even if this creature's controller is running low on cards in their hand, they can still potentially cast additional goblins.
While this is an impressive effect in its own right, Conspicuous Snoop has all of the activated abilities of the top card of its controller's library as long as its a goblin, potentially allowing it to access potent activated abilities found on goblins, such as that of Hobgoblin Bandit Lord.
12 Mu༒xus, Goblin Grandee
Printed in Jumpstart, Muxus, Goblin Grandee is a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:powerful legendary goblin that is capable of providing a massive amount of value to a goblin player. A 4/4 goblin noble for six mana, upon entering the battlefield, this goblin's controller reveals the top six cards of their library, putting all goblins with a mana value of five or less found this way directly into play.
This ability can allow for several impressive goblins to be put into play through the use of a single card. Once in play, Muxus can continue to provide value, gaining +1/+1 for each goblin under its owner's control whenever it attacks.
11 ꦆ Purphoros, God of the Forge
Though not a goblin itself, the Mono-Red god of Theros, Purphoros, God of the Forge is a perfect inclusion within any Goblin Tribal deck. An indestructible 6/5 enchantment creature for four mana, Purphoros only counts as a creature if its controller's devotion to red is five or greater, making it a headache to remove from play.
Purphoros allows for each goblin to provide extra value in the form of direct damage to one's opponents, causing each opponent to lose two life whenever a creature enters the battlefield under Purphoros' owner's control. While this can deal massive amounts of damage throughout a game, for the cost of three mana, Purphoros can even provide each creature its owner controls with +1/+0 until the end of the turn, providing yet even more potential damage!
10 Goblin🍸 Chirurgeon ✅
One of the biggest strengths of goblins as a tribe is their sheer numbers. When playing a goblin tribal deck, you are truly embracing the idea of quantity over quality, as you quickly amass a huge swarm of goblins with which you'll overwhelm your opponents. Due to the sheer number of goblins you'll have access to, a common strategy is for goblin players to sacrifice their lesser goblins as tokens to fuel other cards of value. Goblin Chirurgeon is a goblin that allows you to regenerate your more valuable goblins by sacrificing your less important goblins.
Goblin Chirurgeon can let goblin players come out of many "board wipes" with half of 🅰their army still intact by sacrificing🐠 half of their goblins to keep the other half alive!
9 Goblin Matron ﷺ
The ability to tutor, or search your library for a specific card and put it in your hand, is most often 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:associated with the color black. The vast majority of non-black tutors tend to come with some inherent drawbacks due to the ability being primarily under black's jurisdiction.
Goblin Matron is a three-mana goblin who upon entering the battlefield, searches your library for a goblin of your choice and puts it in your hand. As in a goblin deck, the vast majority of the creatures in your library will be goblins, this is a very reliable and cheap mean🧔s of getting a tutoring effect in red with almost no drawback.
8 ꧒ Burn At The Stake
Though the massive amount of goblins at your disposal will often make combat damage your primary win condition, sometimes cards like Propaganda and Crawlspace may attempt to thwart you and your goblins' plans by reducing the number of creatures whom you can attack with. Have no fear, for that's what the card Burn at the Stake is for.
For five mana, Burn at the Stake allows its controller to tap any number of creatures. The spell then deals damage equal to three times the amount of tapped creatures to the target creature. This spell is a phenomenal 💜way of using your goblin horde to push through damage directly, and take a player out of the game without needing to attack.
7 Goblin Warchief ꦆ ꦉ
As part of the warchief cycle from all the way back in Scourge, Goblin Wachief helps its controller pull ahead of their opponents by reducing the costs of all goblins they cast by one mana. As a multitude of goblins possesses low mana costs, this ability will often be reducing a third or even a half of some of your goblins' mana costs.
Additionally, Goblin Warchief provides each of your goblins with haste, giving you immediat꧑e access to their abilities and offensive capabilities, allowing a goblin player to use their goblins even more aggressively.
6 👍 Goblin Bombardment
Similar to Burn at the Stake, Gobl🐷in Bombardment gives goblin players an alternative means of pushing their damage through to their opponents besides combat damage. A three-mana enchantment, Goblin Bombardment allows its controllers🅷 to sacrifice a creature to deal one damage to any creature or player of their choice.
More flexible than the aforementioned Burn at the Stake, Goblin Bombardment has many uses, allowing for its controller to sacrifice their creatures in response to kill spells, whi🍎le also being capable of being used in a similar fashion to Burn at the Stake.
