March of the Machine Aftermath marks a new kind of release for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering in that it's a micro set containing only 50 cards that's being released between sets. While Alchemy cards have served a similar purpose in the past, Aftermath sets are also printed on paper.

Aftermath is meant to tie up some loose ends in the Magic story while also providing players with a handful of new toys to enjoy before the printing of the next set. That being said, let's take a look at which of these cards might have an impact on Standard as well as consider what kinds of decks might utilize them.

6 🤪 Cosmic💧 Rebirth

It's easy to see this instant being used in aggressive Selesnya strategies in order to recur important creatures on the opponent's end step. As far as the current metagame stands, Selesnya Toxic is one such deck where Cosmic Rebirth might see some use.

This is especially true for the Toxic deck as its Toxic creatures need only deal 10 poison counters to an opponent to win the game, effectively halving the opponent's life total as long as you continue to attack from the Toxic angle. There are also some pretty good targets in Slaughter Singer and Bloated Contaminator.

Alternatively, Standard is full of a lot of impactful Human creatures including Thalia, Guardian of T🌳hraben,🅷 Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Brutal Cathar, and more. Additional castings of these creatures could make a huge difference against certain opponents.

5 🥃 Open The Way 🎃

There's already a lot of ramp lying around i﷽n Standard includ🍒ing cards like Topiary Stomper and Invasion Of Zendikar. There are also some pretty good payoffs for creating fast mana in cards like Atraxa, Grand Unifier and Etali, Primal Storm.

Open the way could add the needed consistency for a ramp deck to make a strong showing. That being said, a good ramp deck hasn't graced Standard since the days when Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger was running around and neither of these cards is anywhere near the power level of Ulamog.

Regardless, some experimentation with Open the Way is probably warranted to see if there's anything here. Notably, Open grabs any kind of land as opposed to just basics, making it a great source of fixing for multicolored manabases.

4 🃏 Sigarda, Font Of Blessings

Speaking of aggressive Selesnya decks that make use of Humans, here's another payoff for building such a brew. This version of Sigarda may be held back by the fact that it doesn't provide any immediate value upon entering the battlefield, however, if you can manage to untap with it the top of your library could become a font of creature spells.

At the very least, this is a decent piece of sideboard tech against midrange and control strategies that are stocked with tons of single-target removal spells. If those decks can't manage to answer Sigarda immediately, she may just see you run away with the game as you flood the board with creatures from your library.

3 Tranquil Frillback ♉

Speaking of sideboard tech, Tranquil Frillback almost f🌟eels like a throwb🌃ack to Deathgorge Scavenger from Ixalan. However, it comes with a bit more modality at the cost of higher mana expenditure.

Graveyard answers are a welcome boon for many decks due to the presence of Atraxa 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Reanimator at the top of the meta as well as common meta cards that benefit from a filled graveyar﷽d including Graveyard Trespasser and Corpse Appraiser.

Frillback can also serve as an answer to Reckoner Bankbus🍃ter as well as a slew of Sagas and enchantments currently seeing play. Lastly, its ability to restore life is helpful against aggressive strategies like Mono-Red which is fairly popular at the moment.

All things considered, this card has play potential from a lot of angles and provides a perfectly fine body to boot. It's pretty difficult seeing a world where Frillback doesn't see play to some extent.

2 Jirina👍, Dauntless Gen𝓀eral

This is yet another angle to attack the graveyard and in a card that slots perfectly well into mainboards as well. Esper Legends in particular seems like a perfect home for this new addition, though it's not like the deck needs any extra power as it is.

Considering that Esper Legends is already recognized as the best deck in the format, we'll see whether Jirina is really even necessary at all.

Additional insulation against wraths as well as an easy method of exiling opponent's graveyards kind of seems like a no-brainer though if truth be told. Of course, the problem is not every creature in Esper Legends is a Human. The vast majority are though.

1 ൩ 💖 Nissa, Resurgent Animist

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Card advantage and additional mana all in an appropriately statted creature seems like a pretty good deal. This is yet another card that could see a ramp deck become a tr✃ue contender in tཧhe Standard meta as ramp decks are some of the only decks capable of playing multiple lands per turn.

Titan of Industry, Sol'kanar, the Tainted, and Omnath, Locus of All all represent powerful Elemental cards that Nissa can find from your library and add to your hand. While Sol'kanar and Omnath may require some pretty wild mana costs, Titan of Industry is mono-green and easy enough to cast.

Additionally, the manabases currently available in Standard shouldn't make casting Sol'kanar or Omnath too difficult anyways, especially when both Nissa and Open the Way can create or find mana of any color. Whether or not Nissa leads to a ramp deck emerging in Standard, this is a powerful card on its own and will likely see play in some form or another.

After ♚all, the power of adding one additional mana to your man🍌abase every turn has already been revealed thanks to Fable of the Mirror-Breaker.
