Although the evasion and doublestrike provided by the Inspiring Leader's ultimate -10 ability is quite dangerous, it's far too inaccessible and slow to be considered particularly powerful.
11 Ajani, Valiant 🌼Protector
Another Planeswalker deck card, Ajani, Valiant Protector does have a feature in its favor, having two abilities capable of raising its loyalty rather than only one, making its Ultimate slightly easier to access and requiring more effort for opponents to remove. Through its +2 and +1, this Ajani can increase the potency of one of your creatures or help you dig through your deck for another creature to cast, ensuring you won't hit a dead draw.
Though Valiant Protector's ultimate ability (which provides a creature with +1/+1 counters equal to your life total and trample) could reliably close out a game, the fact that it requires a staggering eleven loyalty to activate makes the chances of it being used rather slim. Paired with a high mana cost of six, and it's not hard to see why Ajani, Valiant Protector doesn't see much play.
10 Aj𝕴ani Un𝓀yielding
Yet another six-mana Ajani, Ajani Unyielding is a Selesnya Planeswalker first printed in Aether Revolt. Though flexible and offering high value abilities, the abilities of Ajani Unyielding aren't impactful enough to be considered groundbreaking. Entering the battlefield with four loyalty, this Ajani's +2 is solid, netting you up to three additional cards in your hands while filtering out unwanted land, while its -2 functions as exile-based removal.
Though this Ajani's ultimate ability of putting five +1/+1 counters on each creature you control and five loyalty counters on each Planeswalker you control is enticing, it's not worth running an otherwise over-costed Planeswalker just for its ultimate ability.
9 ✨ ♛ Ajani, the Greathearted
Appearing in War of the Spark, Ajani, the Greathearted is a rather simplistic yet solid Selesnya Planeswalker. A five-loyalty Planeswalker for four mana, this Ajani's static ability provides each creature you control with vigilance, helping it offer value to creature-heavy decks.
Though this Ajani's +1 is rather lackluster, only gaining you three life, its -2 more than makes up for it, bolstering your entire board by putting +1/+1 counters on each of your creatures and loyalty counters on each of your Planeswalkers. As this ability notably effects Planeswalkers, this card is a solid inclusion in Superfriends Commander decks.
8 Ajani Vengeant ꦺ
The only Boros Ajani to see print, Ajani Vengeant is a decent four-mana Planeswalker with three loyalty. Unlike other Ajani cards that build up your resources, Ajani Vengeant's abilities restrict the resources of your opponent. Firstly, as this Ajani's +1 ability prevents target permanent from untapping during its controller's next untap step, you can easily deprive an opponent access to one of the lands they'd used during their last turn.
Additionally, Ajani's -2 offers an identical effect to Lightning Helix, dealing three damage to any target, while gaining you three life, serving as flexible removal. Most devastating is this Ajani's -7 that destroys each land under target player's control. For those looking to add a flexible control option to their Boros deck, Ajani Vengeant isn't a bad choice.
7 Ajani𝓡, Caller Of The Pride
The most mana-effecient Ajani, Ajani, Caller Of The Pride is a four🦂-loyalty Planeswalker for three mana. Though its modest +1 only puts one +1/+1 counter on target creature, its -3 provides a creature with both evasion and a sizable offensive boost by providing both flying and double strike until the end of the turn.
Though it takes a significant amount of setup, this Ajani's -8 ability single-handedly creates a massive board state, creating a number of 2/2 Cat tokens equal to your life total.
6 Ajani💖 Goldmane 𝓰
The first Ajani as well as the first white Planeswalker to ever see print, Ajani Goldmane set a respectable foundation for future white Planeswalkers to come. Entering the battlefield with four loyalty, this four-mana Planeswalker's +1 ability is not much to write home about, only gaining you two life. However, Ajani's latter two abilities more than make up for it.
Though Ajani's -1 can reliably bolster your forces, putting a +1 counter on each creature you control while simultaneously offering them vigilance until the end of the turn, Ajani's -6 ultimate ability can create a massive Avatar token with power and toughness equal to your life total. Due to its synergy with large sums of creatures and high life totals, Ajani Goldmane is worth including in lifegain-focused commander decks and token-focused decks with access to white mana.
5 Ajani, Wise Counselor 🐈
Ajani, Wise Counselor is among the most archetypal Ajani cards, featuring various mechanics the character has been known to utilize while synergizing well with tokens. For five mana, this five-loyalty Ajani's +2 may gain life, an effect known for not being particularly powerful, but it gains you one life for each creature you control, meaning this effect can potentially bolster your life total significantly, especially if used several times.
While this Ajani's -3 helps decks trying to go wide, providing each of your creatures with +2/+2, its ultimate -9 ability provides further payoff for the lifegain of its +2, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on a creature equal to your life total.
