With the release of🅷 B🐽loomburrow, there are 20 Otter creatures in Magic, an increase of 17 creatures over the previous three from Magic’s history. That’s not going to stop you from tossing them all together in one cool blue and red deck.

Bria gives all your Otters prowess, giving them +1/+1 for the turn anytime you cast an instant or sorcery. While g💙ood, it might not be enough to push through more established creature archetypes. That’s where Bria’s other ability comes in. Every time you cast a noncreature spell, you get to make a creature you control unblockable that turn. You can play this a few ways, but loading Bria up with equipment or enchantments and winning through Commander damage is totally viable too.

Play From Your Deck

A fascinating Jesk♐ai Commander, Arthur, Marigold Knight does a lot of unique things that can quickly spiral out𒅌 of control for your opponents. When Arthur and another of your creatures attack, you get to take a peek at the top six cards of your deck.

If you find a creature among them, you can put it into the battleꦉfield tapped and attacking. Then that creature bounces back to your hand at the end of combat. You’ll want to fill your deck with all sorts of powerful enter-the-battlefield effects, which let you double up on them when the creature returns to your hand.

8 🙈 Flubs, The Fool ▨

A Tricky Little Froggy

Flubs, the Fool is a strange lege🎃ndary creature, one that could be really fun to mess around with and experiment with. Flubs lets you not only play extra lands on each turn, but also lets you draw a card if you have no cards in hand when you play a land or cast a spell. If you do have cards in hand, however, you have to discard a card.

The goal is to get your hand empty and 🌄then just keep playing off the top of yܫour deck. You’ll want cards like Sensei’s Diving Top to be able to manipulate the top card, so you are constantly trying to get or discard the right cards. One of the best cards you can play with Flubs is going to be Song of Creation, which rewards everything you do with Flubs with even more cards.

Any time The Infamous Cru༺elclaw deals combat damage to a player, you get to exile the top cards of your library until you find a nonland card. You can cast that card by d൩iscarding a card instead of paying that card’s mana cost. While it does require you to have a card in hand to use, you can get some big spells for free very early on.

5 ꧒ Vren, The Relentless 🐈

Keep The Rats Coming

Vren, the Relentless does what Rats do best; keep pumping out tokens until you have an army of Relentless Rats. At the start of each player’s end step, you 🌱make X 1/1 Rat tokens that get +1/+1 for each other Rat you control (effectively Relentless Rat tokens).

The key is that X is equal to the number of creatures that♍ your opponents con꧅trol that were exiled each on that turn. Conveniently, Vren exiles all your opponent's creatures when they die, so all you have to do is keep Vren safe and wait for the combat to begin.

Group Hug, Group Crush

The innocent little bunny, Ms. Bumbleflower, doesn’t seem like she’d be a threat. You also get to put a +1/+1 counter on any creature and give that creature flying for the turn. The second time this ability triggers in a turn, it lets you draw two car𒊎ds to refill your hand a bit and keep slinging spells. To help fuel this ability, Zinnia gives all creatures spells you cast offspring, letting you pay two generic to make a 1/1 token copy of that creature. This makes every creature🎉 spell you cast a two-for-one, which is really darn good when it comes to maximiไzing your enter-the-battlefield effects.

2 Eluge, The Shoreless Sea ꦏ

Mono-Blue Free Spells

Mono-colored decks are a bit 📖of a rarity as Magic pushes to create more and more powerful legendary creatures with diverse color options, but Eluge, the Shoreless Seas is an exceptionally strong Fish to build around. Any time Eluge enters the battlefield or attacks, you get to put a flood counter on a land, turning it into an Island as well as its other types.

Eluge rewards you for turning your own 🌳lands into Islands by making the first instant or sorcery spell you cast cost one blue or one generic less for each land you have with a flood counter. This happens each turn, giving you tons of potential to cast cou꧟nterspells, draw spells, and all sorts of shenanigans for free.
