Flash is a mechanic in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: The Gathering that allows you to play a permanent at instant speed.🍷 You can respond to your opponent’s action, play a spell at the end of their turn, or flash in something during their upkeep, just as you could an instant spell. It’s a versatile mechanic that’s fun to play, but frustrating to go against.
There are over 200 cards legal in Pioneer that have flash. A lot of them are great, so narrowing it down tꦏo only ten was difficult. The cards on this list see the most play in Pioneer’s metagame. If you’re not using these cards, it’s time to consider opening a spot in your deck.
10 💧 Cathar Commando ꦅ
Sometimes us🃏ing an instant spell isn’t good enough. When crafting your deck you want to be efficient, and having an inexpensive creature that does the same th💞ing as another spell is better than using said spell. Enter Cathar Commando: it’s usually relegated to the sideboard, but there are some good tricks you can do with this Dispell-on-a-body.
For example, flash him onto the battlefield after your opponent has declared attackers, and assign it as a blocker. But before damage is dealt, pay the one generic mana to destroy one of their enchantments or artifacts, while also preventing that combat damage from getting throꦬugh. You can also simply use him as a beater or a looming threat to any pesky artifacts or enchantments.
9 Wildborn Preserver ♒
Wildborn Preserver is a great addition to your Elf deck. One, it's an Elf itself, so it’ll gain any of the many bonuses that target Elves. Two, it’s not going to stay a 2/2 for very long.
Elves are inexpensive creatures when it comes to mana,𓃲 so it won’t be difficult to buff Wildborn Preserver with +1/+1 counters whenever you play a new Elf. Not to mention this little fox-riding Elf has reach. He’ll defend the skies with ease when you’re not ready toജ be on the offensive.
8 The Wandering Emp🥂eror
This is the first Planeswalker with flash, and it ဣprobably won’t be the last. The Wandering Emperor is an excellent addition to any contro🎉l deck, or any deck that plays white spells. First of all, she protects herself by exiling a tapped creature or creating a 2/2 token.
F⛎lash her onto the battlefield after your opponent has attacked and use her -2 ability to exile a tapped creature. Not only is this perfect for disposing of big creatures, it’s excellent against aggressive decks, because it also gives you two life as a bonus. Sometimes, two life is the difference between victory and defe🅠at.
7 Omen of the Sea 🧔
Card advantage is an important aspect of MTG.♚ While Opt and other draw spells are perfect – and they have their place in a lot of decks – Omen of the Sea is ideal for Control decks. Once you resolve this enchantment, you get to scry one more card than Opt or Consider, and it only costs one more generic mana.
Then there’s the bonus of being able to scry two cards in the late game when you need something more specific, or just have mana to spend. Put this in a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yorion, Sky Nomad deck, and you&rsquo🅰;ll be able to scry and drꦚaw again.
6 ༺ 🌱 Guardian of Faith
Phasing out is a powerful mechanic that has been seen on cards such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Teferi’s Protection and Teferi, Master of Time. Unfortunately, Teferi’s Protection isn’t legal in Pioneer, so you’ll have to come equippe🍸d with the next best thing in your white deck.
Guardian of Faith won’t protect your life total, but it’ll protect your creatures from board wipes and othꦕer forms of removal. Having vigilance is a nice touch, as it allows you to avoid The Wandering Emperor’s exile ability and more safely swing in for damage.
5 𝄹 Brazen Borrower ♒
Throne of 🐈Eldraine saw a lot of powerful cards enter Standard, to the point where many were even banned due to their power level. Brazen Borrower, luckily, did not meet the ban hammer and has been a thorn in players’ sides ever since. It’s an adventure card, which means it has an instant attached to it that you can cast before playing it as a creature.
Brazen Borrower has saveꦿd many a player from certain defeat with only its Petty Theft side of the card. Its creature half is perfect for equipping with artifacts and getting in some damage.
4 𒊎 Containment Priest 🤡
Containment Priest isn’t letting a reanimator deck do what it does best. This 2/2 Cleric says “No” to red/black Rakdosꦬ Sacrifice decks and their pesky Cauldron Familia𒀰r combos. Beyond that, Containment Priest is going to shut down Collected Company strategies, forcing your opponent to play creatures the old fashion way: from their hand.
Imagine your opponent casts Collected Company, and then you flash in Containment Priest in response. Since Collected Company ꦬis not a “may” ability, they’re losing two creatures. After that, your opponent won’t be able to play that spell again until they get rid of your 2/2 Human Cleric, which could shut down their entire deck..
3 𒊎🤪 Rattlechains
Spirits is a popular archetype in Pioneer, with there being two iterations of the deck: 🐎Mono-Blue and Bant (gr🐭een/white/blue). Rattlechains finds itself in both versions because of how powerful it is: when you’re playing against a mono-red aggro deck, you want Rattlechains at the ready.
When your opponent goes to burn one of your creatures, you can cast Rattlechains at instant speed anꩵd give the targeted sp🍨irit hexproof. At that point, all spirits in your hand also have flash, and that opens up your plays in new and exciting strategies.
2 𝓡 Spell Queller
Spell Queller is another Spirit that finds itself alongside Rattlechains in the Bant versioꦚn of the Spirit deck. This Spirit is a counterspell on a stick that puts the countered spell in exile. Does your opponent get that spell back once Spell Queller is removed? Yes. The guy is nothing if not fair.
However, you’ll have another Spell Queller at the ready to protect t🌠he original. Your opponent will grow frustrated and your field will be overrun with Spirits, overwhelming them into defeat.
1 Hullbreaker Horror 🌼 🥀
Have you ever gone against a creature that felt unbeatable? Maybe one that made you scoop it all up? Hullbreaker Horror is that kind of creature. Once you untap with this monstrosity on the field, as long as you have playable cards in your hand, it’s next to impossible to rౠemove.
Your opponent wants to play Storm the Festival? Nope, just cast Cling to Dust and send that six mana spell back to their hand. Hullbreaker Horror is especially useful against Control decks since it's uncounterable, but then it comes down to who releases the Kraken first.
