10 🍌 Jeweled Lotus ๊
-
Price
-
$59.45
We’re going to be talking a lot about this card as it appears four times on this list in various forms. At the ☂bottom, however, is the regular old Jeweled Lotus with regular art, a regular border, and prin🔜ted on completely flat paper.
And yet, even without all the bells and whistles of later entries, there’s enough demand for the Jeweled Lotus that the standard version is priced at almost sixty dollars on the secondary market. It’s not hard to see why; even though that mana is restricted to casting your commander, it’s still the Commander equivalent of a Black Lotus, the most sought-after card in Magic history (well, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:except for The One Ring).
9 Fierce Guardianship (Foil Etched🥀)
-
Price
-
$69.99
Protecting your commander is one of the most important tasks in any Commander game. There are loads of ways to do so, but perhaps the best way is through counterspells. Fierce Guarꦉdianship is one such counterspell that sweetens the deal by eliminating its mana cost if your commander is on the board--something that wiไll likely be the case when you want to cast this spell anyway.
The most expensive version is the one that’s received both the foil and etched treatment, making it a visual delight. You’ll see this꧅ become a theme as we ascend this list.
8 Jeweled Lotus (Bord♏erless) ꩵ
-
Price
-
$77.95
Oh look, it’s Jeweled Lotus again. This time, we’re treated to the borderless art version, with beautifully etched petals floating off the card (although they’re not actually etched--that’ll come later).
There’s no functional difference between this card and the first Jeweled Lotus, but it is incrementally pr🃏ettier, which makes it more desirable. Folks are willing to spend close to eighty bucks for one of these, but it’s a mere fraction of what they’ll spend for more complex versions of the Jeweled Lotus.
7 ℱ Omnath, Locus of Mana (Textured Foil)
-
Price
-
$80.77
Perhaps the most popular Omnath, Locus of 🔯Mana allows green Commander players to bank their green mana, increasing the s𝄹ize of Omnath as they do so. This provides a giant beast to lock down the board, but also an escalating source of mana for casting game-ending Fireballs at every opponent.
You can play Omnath as your commander or just throw it into your Commander deck, provided it has sufficient green mana sources. Either way, this textured foil comes with alternate art, a shiny metal coat, and a unique texture that'll provide some players with an entirely new tactile experience. As such, Omnath, Locus of Mana is a very expensive card.
6 🌠 Kozilek, the Great Distortion (Textured Foil) 💖
-
Price
-
$84.70
Continuing our asceꦓnt, we see yet another card with the textured foil treatment and alternate art. Kozilek, the Great Distortion isn’t the most terrifying Eldrazi out there, but it’s still pretty scary. You get a full hand of seven cards whenever it’s cast, you get a giant 12/12 body that’s difficult to block effectively, and you get to turn any card in your hand into a counterspell.
Kozilek can be found in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Eldrazi Unbound preconstructed deck, but for the textured foil version, you’ll ha🎐ve to crack open some boosters.
5 Sౠelvala, Heart of the Wilꦛds (Textured Foil)
-
Price
-
$97.96
Selvala is always the life of the party, and Selvala, Heart of the Wilds is here to celebrate bigger and bigger creatures. The more powerful creatures get cast, the more Selvala rewards those players by allowing them to draw cards. Obviously, playing a deck full of massive critters will synergize best with Selvala, but even if you don't, she still provides a significant mana boost all on her own.
Of course, the version of Selvala, Hart of the Wilds that draws the highest price in Commander Masters is the one with the alternate borderless art and the textured foil treatment. Plus, you get a perfect view of Selvala's cool hat.
4 Jeweled Lotus (Foil Etch🅘ed)
-
Price
-
$119.27
Another Jeweled Lotus is he💞re, this time with the etched foil finish. What this entry really shows is how much people value the etched foil treatment over mere borderless art. You retain the classic Magic card look but still get something shiny to add to your collection.
Don't worry, we're almost through discussing this flowery artifact that is entirely useless outside the Commander format. If Commander wasn't so popular, Jeweled Lotus wouldn't exist, and neither would Commander Masters as a set.
3 𒐪 💖 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger (Textured Foil)
-
Price
-
$170.91
Ulamog is a great monster. First, it's 10/10 for 10 mana that exiles two permanents as soon as it's cast. Then, it's a massive indestructible monster that provides an alternate win condition by exiling cards from players' libraries 20 at a time. Kozilek is fun, but Ulamog wins games. That's why it's the more expensive of the two Eldrazi.
This particular version also has the alternate borderless art and the textured foil treatment to make it extra special compared to the other Ulamogs out there. Expect to spend a pretty penny if you don't pull one of these Ulamogs from your box of boosters.
2 The Ur-Dragon (Textured Foil) ✃
-
Price
-
$199.99
Ulamog is terrifyingly powerful, but it's not the most fun card to play. The Ur-Dragon, with its full spectrum of colors and a beloved creature typing, is an undeniably fun commander. Play this dragon, then play more and more dragons until you win. What could be more amusing than that?
The screaming Ur-Dragon pictured above is textured and foiled, with borderless art and a face only a mother could love. Will you be that mother? If so, I hope you find one of these in a booster pack because otherwise, it'll cost you $200 or more.
1 Jeweled Lotus (Textured Foღil)
-
Price
-
$550.00
We hಞave discussed Jeweled Lotus at length, so at this point, we’re only left with pointing out how the most expensive Jeweled Lotus in Commander Masters is the one with the alternate borderless art and the textured foil treatment.
It has the most stuff done to it, it’s the most powerful card in the set, and it’s the rarest version of that card. As such, you’ll pay over $500 for one if you don’t find it on your own. At that price, I’d just sell it, buy the regular Jeweled Lotus at the start of this list, 🎶and pocket the difference.
