Blue Finally Gets An Enchantress

Enchantress decks are already incredibly powerful in Commander, and Duskmourn introduces a ton of new enchantment cards to help it out. However, most enchantment-focused commanders tend to ꦚbe just white and green, which gives Tuvasa a particular advantage when it comes to Duskmourn.

Though there are lots of blue enchantments in the set, like the four Fear cards, Clammy Prowler, and, of course, Enduring Curiosity, there are two cards in particular Tuvasa will likely want to run: Bottomless Pool, a one-mana Room enchantment, and Entity Tracker which brings the Enchantress-like ability of drawing cards when enchantments enter to blue for the first time with its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:eerie trigger.

Deploy UNIT With Time Counters

Introduced in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Universes Beyond: Doctor Who decks, Kate Stewart’s experience with time travel and The Doctor has given her an appreciation for all things time counters, which is conveniently also present in Du🧔skmourn🅷.

Duskmourn introduced a cycle of five Overlord cards, which can all be played for their impending cos🌼t to enter with time counters. While you lose having a creature you can swing out with, Kate makes up for it by making 1/1 white Soldier tokens out of them instead.

Unfortunately, Kate only makes one 1/1 token for each Overlord as they enter, as it says “one or m💙ore time counters”. Proliferating and time travel will be your primary way of making lots more of them.

Keep up the proliferation and time travel to keep time counters on the Overlords, and you’ll be able to create a ludicrous number of tokens. When you’re ready to win, eight mana will let Kate give all your creatures a huge boost too – the red, white, and blu💦e Overlords have a starting toital of 12 time counters, whic▨h could easily close out the game for you if you go wide enough.

Manifest Dread Gets Even Stronger

Etrata is the most receᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚnt commander to Duskmourn, releasing the same year in Murders at Karlov Manor. However, its ability to flip cards face-up for two generic, one blue, and one black is particularly important for Duskmourn.

The set introduced 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:manifest dread, which puts one of the two cards you pick face-do🎃wn. If you have particularly expensive cards you want to flip, Etrata can give you a hef⛄ty discount with the ability it grants, and it even allows you to flip normally unflappable cards, like instants or sorceries. Arcane Adaptation can turn all your creatures into Assassins to trigger Etrata’s second abi🔴lity.

O🍃f course,๊ the big win here is Tyvar, the Pummeler. Its ability to give everything the biggest creature’s power is great, especially when you can do it multiple times each turn for an even bigger boost. But it isn’t just the splashy, expensive Tyvar, Duskmourn has lots of cheaper spells Tuya might want.

Chainsaw could make a creature very big if things keep dying, while Fear of Be𒆙ing Hunted gives you a 4/2 for three mana that pulls blockers away from Tuya if you’re lucky. Beastie Beatdown can also pump up a creature with two +1/+1 counters before taking out an opponent’s creature, all for two mana.

6 Plargg, Dean Of Chaos//Augusta, Dean Of Order 🧸

An Easy Way To Trigger Survival

Plargg and Augusta never made a big splash in Commander when th🤪ey debuted in Strixhaven: School Of 𒁃Mages. However, it might be their time to shine now that Duskmourn has a heavy tapping-matters theme to it.

Commander colour identity t♐racks both sides of the card, so Plargg and Augusta count as a red/white commander.

Augusta is the one to focus on. Her ability allows you untap all your creatures, and then hand-pick which ones you tap back down just by attacking. Only Augusta needs to attack for this, which means you could swing and then tap down Acrobatic Cheerleader, Glimmer Seeker, Reluctant Role Model, Savior of the Small, and Veteran Survivor all at the same time for a big burst of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:survival triggers.

The downside is the colour identity, as survivors are mostly in white and green rather than white and red. Plargg’s ability still helps though, as you’ve got an easy way to run through your deck for the generally low-mana-costed Surviv꧑ors and play them for free.

As If Delirium Wasn't Easy Enough To Switch On

Baba Lysaga decks can already be scary to play against, but now she’s become an incredibly easy way to get the four card types into your graveyard needed to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:get delirium online.

With one trigger of her ability, you could easily dump all four types into 𒁃your graveyard and turn delirium on as soon as turn two. From th🌺ere, you just need a Demonic Counsel, and you’re all set to close out the game diabolically fast.

If you don’t want to be tha🌠t ruthless, having delirium on still lets you swing out with the one-mana Patchwork Beastie, or return a Balustrad✤e Wurm to the battlefield. You could even force your opponents to fall further behind with an Osseous Sticktwister. You’ll have to throw your own permanents away, but Baba Lysaga makes it more than worth the investment.

4 ꦫ Blex, Vexing Pest

All The Nasties Of The Swamp

Another underrated commander from Strixhav🍎en, Bꦛlex brings together the creepy crawlies and slithering nightmares of Strixhaven’s Detention Bog under one unified lord. Handily, Blex cares about Insects and Spiders, two creature types that get a big outing in Duskmourn.

Altanak, Balustrade Wurm, Flesh Burrower, Spineseeker Centipede, Twitching Doll, and Broodspinner all put bodies on the board for you, but the real treat is The Swarmweaver. It’s a Scarecrow, but it pro🌠duces 1/1 Insect tokens, and can also give them and Spiders +1/+1 and deathtouch if you have delirium.

Duskmourn isn’t as big a typal set as Bloomburrow or Ixalan, but for these two specific creature types, Blex is drowning in new options🌃 thanks to Valgavoth.

3 🃏 Kaheera, The Orphanguard 𓃲

The Perfect Companion For Your Beasts

Whether you’re🥂 using Kaheera as commander or as a companion, you’re likely going to be focusing on two creature types that are abundant in Duskmourn: Nightmares, and Beasts.

In the white and green colours, Beasts are the most prevalent. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kona, Rescue Beastie is by far the strongest of the lot, letting you put any permanent card down for free if it’s tapped at the start of the🌠 second main phase. But don’t sleep on Hauntwoods Shrieker as a way to manife🃏st dread, or Altanak, the Thrice-Called for easy card draw.

Nightmares outside of black and blue are rare, but Duskmourn has more than a few. Fear of Abduction is a great one for removing your opponents’ creatures, while Fear of Surveillance’s surveiling lets you thin out your deck. Fear of Exposure is espec🐻ially good, though, being a 5/4 for just three mana if you have the creatures or lands to tap for its additional cost.

2 Reaper King 𓃲

Now With Actual Scarecrows

For a set with a very small typal focus, Duskmourn does gr eat things for a lot of the most obscure typal commanders. Reaper King has always been a terrifying threat for changeling and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:blink decks, but Duskmourn gives you a few more tools to☂ perhaps make it as the focused Scarecrow deck it’s never quite had the chance to become.

Duskmourn introduced four new Scarecrows, with one more in the Commander decks. Osseus 🥀Sticktwister is the meanest of the bunch by forcing your opponents to discard or sacrifice permanents, which will fit nicely if you’ve already built Reaper King as a blink deck. Wildfire Wickerfolk is a cheap and easy way to trigger Reaper King too.

All Scarecrows are artifact creatures, which is enough card types to trigger Rendmaw making goaded Birds. Destroying your opponent𒈔s’ blockers with the Reaper King and letting them be pecked to death with Rendmaw could be a nasty pairing.

1 ౠ Umbris, Fear Manifest 🥀

All The Horrors Of Duskmourn

Umbris, of course, cares about Nightmares and Horrors, which are two creature types Duskmourn has in droves. In blue and black, Duskmourn introduces a massive 13ꦡ new Horror and Nightmare cards, with chea🐽per ones like Fear of Lost Teeth and Silent Hallcreeper serving as a good way to exile cards with Umbris.

The shining star for Umbris, though, is The Mindskinner. Three mana for an unblockable 10/1 is good, but it converts all of your creatures’ damage into mill instead. Combine that with a Leyline of the Void, or exile you💎r opponents’ graveyards with a Tormod’s Crypt or Bojuka Bog, and Umbris will get obscenely massive to mill cards even quicker.

As The Mindskinner prevents combat damage, Umbriꦚs can’t take out opponents with commander damage while it's out.
