Before we get into the list proper, let’s quickly recap Rograkh himself. He’s a 0/1 Kobold Warrior for zero mana, whꦉo comes with a trio of handy keywords: first strike, menace, and trample. Outside of the partner ability, that really is all she wrote on Rograkh.
Don’t let this simplicity fool you, however. His low mana cost makes it easy to play hi𒀰m and immediately buff him up with an aura, equipment, or Lord effect, letting you make great use of those keywords. He can also keep coming back even through multiple layers of commander tax, ma♕king him great in both long and short games.
10 Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist 𓃲
A card that lets you put all your eggs in one basket with startling efficiency, Ardenn is the perfect partner for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Voltron-style legends like Rograkh. By tr♒ansferring all of your Auras and Equipment to him each turn, you can maximise th꧑e damage you’ll deal with his three keywords, while subverting high equip costs in the process.
Spend the first few turns getting equipment onto the board, then drop Arden﷽n and Rograkh simultaneously and suit Rograkh up, ready for war. By the time the pair are through with your opponents, you’ll need Ardenn’s experience as an archaeologist to find their remains.
9 ꦰ Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder
If you thought the one thing R♛ograkh was missing was more keywords, then Bruse Tarl is the partner for you. By applying double strike and lifelink when he enters and attacks, this Boorish Herder can turn every swing from your Kobold chum into a huge status quo s📖hift, with Rograkh’s existing trample ensuring a lot of damage and healing.
He’s not the most nuanced pa🌊rtner for Rograkh, but Bruse Tarl lets you double down on what makes him great in the first place. In addition, he also opens up white as a colour for your deck, granting access to a range of powerful Auras and combat tricks to crank things up even further.
8 𝓀 Kediss, Embeཧrclaw Familiar
Rograkh already rewards you for building him up into a one-Kobold wrecking crew with Aura and Equipment buffs, and Kediss multiplies that power by the number of opponents you have, ensuring no one is left out of your murderous rampage. What a considerate L🎉izard.
This can lead to some very swift victories with the right setup, and it's easy to slot Kediss into your coup de grace turn thanks to its low mana cost of two. It doesn’t open up any new colour options, but it does open up many shortcuts to the smackdown.
Keep in mind that, because the damage dealt by Kediss' ability is non-combat damage, it doesn't count towards Commander Damage.
7 Jeska, Thrice Reborn 💃
Triple strike, despite appearing in Unstable on some relatively reasonable cards, is not an official Magic mechanic as of yet. So far,🃏 the closest thing we have is the 0-loyalty ability on Jeska, Thrice Reborn, which essentially grants the ability to any creature. (With the caveat that ‘on damage’ triggers still only trigger once)
This ability alone is enough to make Jeska the perfect partner in crime for Rograkh, heating his keyword soup up to boiling point. But she also comes with a handy multi-target dama♛ge effect as well that scales as the game goes on, and can be used to clear the way for some Kobold chaos.
6 🌱 🧸 Keleth, Sunmane Familiar
A lot of partners let you take advantage of a buffed-up R♓ograkh, but few help you to buff him up in the first place. Keleth is an exception to this rule, providing a steady stream of +1/🉐+1 counters for Rograkh and herself if you can get consistent, safe attacks early on.
Her ability is extremely simple, but it scales well into ꦦthe late game if you can keep Rograkh alive, or stash his co⭕unters on The Ozolith upon his death. It also comes into play extremely quickly, letting you build up advantage starting as early as turn two.
5 Yoshimaru, Ever Faithfu🏅l
Yoshimaru is worth playing in any deck for his adorable art and flavour alone, but he pairs particularly nicely with Rograkh for an explosive start that can easily snowball into an early victory. On turn one, with a single land, you can get both of your commanders on the boar꧟d, with a +1/+1 𒊎counter on Yoshimaru.
This is a great start, and in a deck full of low-cost legendaries you ๊can take i🐻t even further, swarming the board while buffing Yoshimaru up in the process. Throw in some cheap Equipment for Rograkh and friends, and you have a unique go-wide take on this deck.
4 Aki𝓰ri, Line-Slinger
Akiri, Line Slinger is a partner that plays well with artifact-heavy strategies, such as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:those that rely on Equipment. This overlaps nicely with Rograkh’s penchant for heavy weaponry, letting you buff two commanders with one stone. ౠOr sword, or any better weapon at all, really.
Pairing these two up is a great way to make your Equipment cards pull double duty, and🦹 you can even divide them between the two for a kind of split-Voltron approach if the game state allows for it. The aggressive mana cost here helps a lot too, letting you put the pressure on early and never let up.
3 ⛄ Esior, Wardwing Familiar
Stacking up buffs on Rograkh to leverage his solid base of keywords is all well and good, but it leaves you open to huge X-for-one blowouts if you commit too many Auras to him. Esior helps to reduce the risk of this unfortunate circumstance, ratcheting up the cost of your opponents’ removal ꦬby three mana as long as it’s in play.
You’ll still be vulnerable to board wipes, since those don’t target specifically, but since Esior also gives you access to🦋 blue, you’ll be able to counter those when necessary. Throw in a better-than-Storm-Crow early game flying body, and you have a great option for a more tempo-driven take on Rograkh.
2 📖 Akroma, Vision Of Ixidor
While at the complete other end of the spectrum from Rograkh in terms of mana cost, Akroma shares his deep lo🎀ve of keywords, bringing four of he🧔r own to the table alongside her 6/6 body. Flying, first strike, vigilance, and trample are a nice combination, but it’s her other ability that makes her an ideal partner for our favourite Kobold.
At the start of combat on your turn, Akroma grants each of your creatures +1/+1 for each keyword ability they have. This is a minimum +3/+3 boost for a base-level Rograkh, but will likely climb even higher once you’ve added more keywords to him via Auras and Equipment. It’s a unique take on the deck, but one that can be frighteningly effective, especially when you consider the two extra colours she brings to the table.
