No expansion is perfect, however. As with any intricate machine, Phyrexia: All Will Be One could undoubtedly be improved with a few small tweaks and adjustments. We’ve provided a user manual for eight such changes here; eight modifications that could take All Will Be One from a solid set to theꦯ compleat package.

8 Add 🌺A D💦IY Compleation Tool

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Compleation as a concept is 𓆏key to the storyline of Phyrexia: All Will Be One, and has been teased in prior sets for some time, with Tamiyo, Completed Sage and Ajani, Sleeper Agent showing up to introduce the idea in Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and Dominaria United, respectively. Mechanically, compleation represe꧃nts a straightforward trade-off, letting you use Phyrexian mana to pay for your planeswalker in exchange for it entering with less loyalty.

While confining this mechanic to specific planeswalkers does add weight from a narrative perspective, introducing a powerful, likely legendary, tool that allows you to compleat any planeswalker of your choice w🌠ould’ve been a great fit for the set. It would likely open up a can of worms balancing-wise, given the sheer number of planeswalker cards available in the modern game, but that issue could be addressed via the mana cost of the compleation tool, and/or by making it a single-use effect.

7 More Use🙈s For Sphe꧂re Lands

It’s n﷽ot every day that a new land type is introduced to Magic. In fact, outside of the five basic land types, only five more have been added over the game’s 30-year lifespan. Sphere is the laꦿtest addition to this lineup, appearing on a number of nonbasic lands in Phyrexia: All Will Be One, each representing a distinct area of the newly-developed Plane.

While it’s a nice flavour addition, the🧔re’s only one card in the set that actually cares about Sphere as a land type, and that’s the underwhelming Monument to Perfection. This makes the new type feel largely superficial, where a few more support cards and interactions could’ve elevated it to an interesting new part of the game. Perhaps March of the Machine will rectify this issue, but for now it’s on our All Will Be One wishlist.

6 M🎃ore Anti-Poison Mechanics

A controversial opinion, and one that has existed for as long as poison counters have been a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:reliable way to win games of Magic, is that there should exist ways to remove poison counters after you’ve received them, alongside ways to prevent you from getting them at all. This opinion holds moꦦre weight than ever💟 in All Will Be One, where anti-poison mechanics would make sense as tools of the resistance movement taking on New Phyrexia.

While Melira, the Living Cure does exist, and is a nice way of slowing down poison strategies,ౠ additional cards that let you remove🐼 the counters would be welcome, and create a nice back-and-forth dynamic in the set’s limited and constructed environments.

5 The Introduction Of Mirran Mana 📖

As the conflict between the forces of New Phyrexia and the brave resistance movement comes to a head, the time has never been riper to engage in parallel mechanics to reflect the two sides of the war. Phyrexian mana has been a popular mechanic since its introduction, appearing on many notoꦚrious cards despite only being around for a single set, and its continuation in All Will Be One is great to see.

What would also be great to s♛ee would be an opposing version to represent the Mirran faction, something along the lines of Mirran 💟Mana. This mechanic could take a number of forms, from an artifact-matters version that lets you reveal an artifact from your hand instead of paying the mana, or a life-matters version where you give your opponent life rather than the Phyrexian version, where you pay it yourself.

4 𝐆 Add A Card For Sarnvax ﷽

Magic has countless tertiary characters, mentioned off-hand in 💫flavour text enough to catch the e♛ye and the imagination, that are never actually realised on cards of their own. Some of these characters eventually materialise, such as Massacre Girl, while others languish in obscurity, such as Orzohov Assassin The Cozen.

Sarnvax, Gitaxian Sective is one such character from All Will Be One. Appearing on one card and mentioned on another, he nevertheless makes quite an impression in such a brief time. Based on the artwork on Minor Misstep, Sarnvax 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:specialises in countermagicℱ that implements Phyrexian Oil, an idea which could translate neatly into a very interesting, and powerful, legendary creature.

3 An Oil-Base🎀d Win Condition 🐠

Oil counters make🃏 perfect sense as a new mechanic for the Phyrexians in All Will Be One, tapping into a key part of their identity to create a versatile new counter that can be used, much like real-world oil, for myriad destructive ends. One thing they can’t be used for, however, is to win the game on the spot: something you may expect from such a powerful resource.

There are plenty of alternate win conditions in Magic’s history, ranging in usefulness from Aetherflux Reservoir to Hedron Alignment. Something similar would fit perfectly here; maybe some kind of artifact that lets you ไwin immediately once you’ve amassed a critical mass of oil counters, that lets you generate them by sacrificing lands and creatures.

2 🌃 Bring Back Metalcraft

A great Mirran-al🅘igned mechanic from Shadows Over Mirrodin and Mirrodin Besieged, metalcraft reinforced the (non-literal) affinity the Mirran people had for artifice, letting them power up their effects i🧔f three artifacts were in play under your control. This mechanic would’ve been an ideal fit in All Will Be One, especially given how neatly it parallels the new Phyrexian keyword corrupted in terms of functionality.

This would’ve paired up particularly well 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:with For Mirrodin!, a new flavour keyword found on equipment that encourages their use by bringing along a free token, much like living weapon of old. Reusing this mechanic would help to reinforce the Mirran identity, and set them up as a str🅰ong rival to Phyrexia’s dominance.

1 ꧂ A New Spin On The Chancellor Cycle

A great thing about revisiting past Magic Planes 🔯is the opportunity for fun throwbacks that comes with that. Phyrexia: All Will Be One certainly packs in plenty of these, with a new Sun’sTwiligh💦t cycle that harkens back to the powerful Sun’s Zenith cycle, and new versions of characters like Slobad and Melira, but one cycle they should’ve dredged up from the scrap heap is New Phyrexia’s lineup of Chancellors.

High mana cost creatures with unique effects that could be activated for free if you revealed them from your opening hand, the Chancellors were polarising des𝐆igns, either providing huge early advantage or languishing as mediocre draws later on. Seeing a new, more balanced take on a similar cycle, with the design expertise gained over the last 12 years, would’ve been very cool indeed.
