10 Piru, the Volatile ꦺ 🤡

The most recently printed Elder Dragon, Piru, the Volatile is an eight-mana Mardu card appearing in Modern Horizons II. While the card comes along with a hefty mana cost, it's well worth the investment.

A 7/7 with flying and lifelink, while Piru is sacrificed at the beginning of its controller's turn if they don't pay three mana, upon dying, Piru deals 7 damage to each non-legendary creature. Not only can this serve as a one-sided board-wipe if built around, but it can also gain its controller substantial amounts of life due to Piru's lifelink.

9 Vae🐽victis Asmadi, The Dire

Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire is the second iteration of Vaevictis Asmadi, one of the original five Elder Dragons from Legends. A Jund 6/6 for six mana, Vaevictis Asmadi is capable of reliably removing several significant threats in the Commander format. Upon attacking, this dragon's controller choose a permanent controlled by each player, causing those cards to be sacrificed.

While those card's controllers reveal the top cards of their library, putting permanents revealed this way into play, this guaranteed removal of several key cards in a multiplayer format like Commander is hard to pass up.

While Dragonlord Atartka is easily one of the most straightforward cards on this list, it is far from the weakest. A 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Gruul card for seven mana, Atarka is a massive 8✨/8 with flying and trample that is capable of pushing significant damage into an opponent.

Most notably, upon entering the battlefield, Atarka deals five damage divided among any number of cr♛eatures and Planeswalkers, allowing it to function as both a huge threat and removal.

The namesake Elder Dragon of the Silverquill of Strixhaverm Shadrix Silverquill is a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:potent Orzhov dragon for five mana that reflects the political nature of its respective college. A 2/5 with flying and double strike, upon attacking, Shadrix's controller can choose one of three abilities to benefit from, putting creating an Inkling token, drawing a card, or putting+1/+1 counters on each of their creatures.

This allows a player to not just remove a key target like an opponent's Commander, but gain any and all benefits that card was supplying.

Like the previously mentioned Vaevictis Asmadi, Arcades, The Strategist is the second iteration of one of the original Elder Dragons that appea🍌red in Legends. A Bant creature for four mana, Arcades the Strategist is the premier Commander for those looking to play Wall tribal.

This is because not only does Arcades cause its c🌳ontroller to draw a card whenever a creaturꦓe with defender enters the battlefield under their control, it allows creatures with defender to attack, using their toughness to assign damage rather than their power.

4 Dragonlord Dromoka 🍸

Another Dragonlord from Dragons of Tarkir, Dragonlord Dramoka is a Selesnya Elder Dragon that serves as a control player's worst nightmare.

A 5/7 with flying and lifelink, Dromoka can't be countered and prevents opponents from casting spells during its controller's turn. This effectively shuts off all countermagic and most removal during its owner's turn, letting a player safely play their spells without risk of interference.

3 ꦅ Galazeth Prismari🐲

Like Shadrix Silverquill, Galazeth Prismari is the namesake Elder Dragon of a college of Strixhaven. Low-costed for four mana, when this Izzet dragon enters the battlefield, it ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚcreates a treasure token.

While treasure tokens are already a solid source of mana, Galazeth allows them to be used repeatedly, as it allows artifacts its owner controls to be tapped to produce one mana of an🐬y color. While this m﷽ana may only be spent to cast instants and sorceries, Galazeth is still a stellar source of mana.

2 ꦰ Beledros Witherbloom ♒

Though the Elder Dragon of Witherbloom, Beledros Witherbloom costs a high seven mana, it is more than worth its cost. A 4/4 with flying, Beledros creates a 1/1 pest token at the beginning of each player's upkeep, creating several bodies each turn rotation in a Commander game.

Most notably however, Beledros has the 𝓀ability to allow its controller to pay ten life to untap all of their lands, effectively doubling their mana output. As the Commander format has players start with forty life, this is life loss is a💫 negligible price for such an impactful effect.

1 Nicol Bolas, The Ravager 𒅌

By and large, Nicol Bolas is ꦿthe most iconic Elder Dragon in all of Magic. While Bolas most often appears as a Planeswalker, Nicol Bolas, The Ravager is a double-faced Grixis Elder Dragon for four mana. Upon entering the battlefield, Bolas causes each opponent to discard a card.

While this may not seem like much at first glance, for seven mana𓆏, Bolas can be transformed, becoming the Planeswalker, Nicol Bolas, the Arisen. As a Plan🐎eswalker, Bolas flexibly has access to four abilities, capable of drawing cards, removing threats, and recurring creatures from graveyards.
