8 Ruination

Alternatively, you can use Wake to Stone Rain (destroy a land) with multiple players if you happen to get lucky. This is a somewhat situational card as mono-colored decks are less popular in Commander, but it's absolutely brutal when it works.

This isn't exactly what you would call a competitive card, but it sure is a hilarious effect. If you're less interested in winning and just want to have a good time and introduce some zany antics, it's hard to do much better than Scrambleverse.

5 Thieves' Auction

Like Scrambleverse but slightly better, Thieves' Auction has the same effect while introducing a level of choice into the matter. Notably, you get to pick the first of the permanents set aside meaning Auction is more likely to benefit you the most.

Again, this isn't really all that great at winning a game of Commander, but it does make for a fun mini-game. Extra points to anyone who roleplays an auctioneer after successfully casting this sorcery.

4 🔯 Tecto♛nic Break

Anyone even slightly familiar with Modern should be well aware of the ridiculous power of this cheap enchantment. Blood Moon is a card that you either hate or love, and there's no in-between.

This enchantment can single-handedly prevent all of your opponents from playing the game at all, though it's rather unlikely that this happens. Still, a card that has the potential to win the game on the spot for three mana is nothing to be trifled with.

Even when it doesn't win the game on the spot, Blood Moon usually makes life exceedingly hard for everyone but mono-red players.

2 Apocalypse / Decree Of Annihilation / Devastation / Obliter𝔉ate / Jok♔ulhaups

As the best wrath effects in Commander, all of the above cards have been piled together on this list. Not only does each of these cards destroy all creatures on the battlefield; they wipe out everyone's lands as well, and some even destroy all artifacts too.

You can combo each of th🐈ese cards with an effect that provides your permanents indestructible in order to wipe out the boards of all other players while keeping your own entirely intact. Needless to say, if you manage to pull off this combo you pretty much win the game.

1 Docksi♕de Extortionist 🥃

Last and certainly not least, this Goblin Pirate has been the bane of pretty much all Commander players ever since it was released in Moജdern Horizons 2. Artifacts and enchantments are extremely popular card types in Commander thanks to their ability to provide value turn after turn, so Dockside Extortionist usually creates a ton of treasure tokens when cast.

While treasure tokens only provide a single instance of colored mana, that's often all you need to pull way ahead of your opponents. If the history of Magic has shown us anything, it's that free mana is always absurdly powerful.

After all, there's a reason that the power nine includes six cards that produce colored mana for free.

If you want to play red cards in Commander, you're going to need to get a copy of Dockside Extortionist unless you're fine with just not being competitive. It's really that good.
