Much of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Magic: the Gathering’s extensive history has been focused on one man’s centuries-long vendetta against꧒ the Phyrexians. Urza, the legendary artificer and genius wizard from Dominaria’s ancient history, has had much of his story told through Magic’s expansive lore.
With so much written about Urza, there is plenty of information lost between the cracks. Little tidbits like the fact that Urza once befriended a Phyrexian sleeper agent, or that he once was tra🌜pped and tortured in a tree. We opened the ancient scrolls of Magic&rsܫquo;s history to try and bring some of Urza’s hidden history to light.
10 His Eyes Are Rocks ෴
Shortly after becoming a planeswalker, Urza replaced his eyes with two stones, the Mightstone and the Weakstone. These two rocks were ancient p🤡owerstones, energy sources used to give the artifacts of an ancient civilization life.
These stones were also what drove Urza and his brother Mis🌱hra to war against each other. The powerstones would eventually power the superweapon the Weather🅠light and eventually Karn.
9 🍌 Urza Had A Wife,𓆉 Kayla Bin-Kroog
After Urza and Mishra’s war began, 𝄹the human artificer needed some space and a change of scenery. He moved to a new city and began an apprenticeship as a clockmaker. While there, the ruler announced a contest, any man who could move a massive statue would win his daughter’s hand in marriage.
Urza was more interested in an ancient Thran book that was part of the dowry, containing records of a long-lostဣ ꦕcivilization. It took Urza a long time to even recognize Kayla as his wife, but eventually, they had a child together.
8 ꦍ Urza Has Caused More Destruction Than Most Planeswalkers
It seems like mayhem follows all planeswalkers, but few other planeswalkers have caused more destruction than Urza. After fighting the Brothers’ War for decades and then witnessing his brother’s fall to Phyrexia, Urza detonated the Golgothian Sylex, not fully understanding the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:destruction it would cause.
Later inꦺ his planes hopping adventures, he would accidentally lead the Phyrexian forces to the angelic plane of Serra’s Realm, where the introduction of pure black mana corrupted the world and caused its destruction. In one of his last acts in the war against Yawgmoth, he would encourage the skyship Weatherlight to break an artificial moon that hung over Dominaria for millennia.
7 🐽 He Caused An Ice Age
After Urza activated the Go💯lgothian Sylex, he would leave D💫ominaria for a time. The damage he caused to the entirety of Dominaria was unknown even to him. While the explosion decimated both his and Mishra’s armies, it destroyed the entire island of Argoth, disrupted Dominaria’s weather patterns, and brought on a small ice age.
Civilizaꦚtions from before the blast struggled to remain united🉐 while others dissolved completely, changing the power and political dynamics of the world.
6 🐓 Urza Once Had A Friend 🎐
During Urza’s travels after the events of the Brothers’ War, he encountered a Phyrexian sleeper agent Xantcha. She was able to resist the implanted mind control elements that Phyrex💟ia had installed in her, and instead became Urza’s traveling companion and caretaker when he was temporarily infected with a madness directly from Yawgmoth, his eternal foe.
She would eventuall🍸y sacrifice herself to help save Urza in a fight with a mighty Phyrexian.
5 He Accide♋ntally Blew Up Tolarian Academy
Wishing to learn more about the Phyrexians and their history on Dominaira, Urza felt that time travel was the best way to further his research. On the island of Tolaria, Urza built an 🧜academy for young wizards to educate, and during that time, he created 🦩Karn, the Silver Golem.
For some reason, Urza felt that this was a great place to experiment with breaking the laws of nature. Predictably, the time machine explodes, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:destroying much of the school and killing a number of students.
4 He Cꦓreated ꦗThe Metathran
After collecting himself and returning to Dominaria, Urza began working on multiple long-term projects as contingency programs should the war against Phyrexia not go his way. To help fight the Phy💃rexian forc🐼es, he engineered the magical species called the Metathran.
Created exclusively for war, these beings were the res🔯ult of genetic experimentations, taking elements of multiple peoples across Dominaria and blending them with magic.
3 🌞 The Nine Titans
In the build-up to the climax of Urza’s millennial war against Phyrexia, Urza went back to his artificer origins. These massive mechanical constructs were built to be piloted by planeswalkers and designed to infiltrate the home🃏 plane of Phyrexia. Each Titan was equipped with enough weaponry to decimate a plane, amplifying a planeswalker’s naturally destructive power. These Titans also included a secret weapon, the Soul Bomb.
The B🎀ombs were powered by the soul of a planeswalker, an unfortunate cost that Urza decided was worth the risk. Urza skirted the moral dilemma of using these bombs by intentionally inviting the e🦋vil and draconic Tevesh Szat to pilot his own Titan, with the anticipation he would betray the group and kill other planeswalkers, unwittingly fueling the Soul Bombs.
2 🙈ꦕ Urza Could Not Destroy Phyrexia
Turns out, when presented with the opportunity to destroy Phyrexia once and for all, Urza could not. Just before Urza was to denote the Soul Bom♋bs, he was entranced by Phyrexians in the form of angelic beings.
In being shown the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:beauty of a fully artificial plane, and tempted by the knowledge that Yawgmoth must have to create such a place, Urza deactivated✨ the bombs and instead was seduced by Phyrexia.
1 Urza Can Survive With His Head Cut 𒅌Off ꦰ
After coming around to the ideals of Phyrexia, Urza was pitted to a battle to the death with the hero of the Invasion, Gerrard Capashen. The two fought fo♛r some time, with Gerrad overcoming Urza and beheading him.
Gerrard f🐎led from Yawgmonth’s arena, carrying Urza’s still-alive head with him. His power as an ancient planeswalker means he didn’t need his body, as his spirit existed in the two powerstones lodged in his head.
