It was just recently that Nintendo confirmed the whispers regarding the potential release of an enhanced 3D Mario compilation. A trailer w𒅌as showcased via as part of a 35th-anniversary celebration for the iconiಌc mustached mascot.

Much to the delight (and surprise) of many fans, this would include high-res versions of Super Mario 64Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy - and would release in mere weeks.

Though this alone was sufficient in exciting many a Nintendo fan, the announcement was somewhat bittersweet, as the compilation appeared to be rather bare-bones. Though there's much to be ecstatic about given that these are high-res versions of some true cla♕ssics, there are a number of things we feel this compilation could use.

With that said, here are 5 things about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Mario 3D All-Stars that have us giddy - along with 5 missed opportunities or missing features that could have made this Mario medley even more epic.

10 🗹 ⛎ Excited About: Available Soundtrack For All 3 Games

Though it may be minor for some, it's hard not to appreciate a convenient, readily-available playlist of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:so🔯me of the best videogame music out there - certainly for 3D platformers.

Who can forget the serene, nostalgic tune of Super Mario 64's "Dire, Dire Docks?" or the grand orchestral melodies that provide the backdrop for Super Mario Galaxy?

The game's menu screen makes it easy to scan through dozens of these classic tracks (175 in total) from all 3 games and rock some great background music. Much like the games themselves, these tracks offer a delightfꦍul, nostalgic trip down memory lane for many gamers.

9 Wish We Saw: Gamecube Controller Support 🌸

Oddly enough - at least as of this writing - Nintendo decided to exclude GameCube controller support for this compilation. This is unfortunate, especially since the Switch has the means to use these controllers, thanks to the Super Smash Bros GameCube adapter.

But it's particularly a headscratcher considering one of the 3 games included, Super Mario Sunshineis a converted GameCube title.

Of course, there's always the solid Pro Controller, and even some that approximate the GameCube button layout. Sti🌊ll🌌, it's disappointing to see this rather basic feature be left out - and it's one we hope Nintendo includes at some point via software update.

8 Excited A❀bout: Playing These Epic Games On The Go

As is the case for many Switch ports/remasters, much of 3D All-Stars' appeal lies in the ability to "switch" out the game between one's TV set and the handheld screen and play it on-the-go. And indeed, these Mario titles certainly lend themselves to handheld gameplay, with their fast-ღpaced style ꦿand rapid-fire collectibles.

It's also particularly exciting when it comes to Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, which have never seen (official) handheld releases before.

7 🐈 Wish We Saw: An Achievement System

To many, achievement systems are little more than fun bonuses that grant some incentive and bragging rights - rather than adding to the gameplay itself. Still, one can't help but wonde𝓀r why such a simple feature was brushed aside.

Despite being a minor inclusion, some sort of singular reward or achievement system that span all 3 games could have been a fun addition, an𓄧d a means for coaxing gamers to really explore each game in-full. Perhap👍s some of them could have even yielded some unlockables, like new skins or cosmetic flair for Mario.

6 E🥀xcited About: Finally Revisiting Sunshine (In Enhanced Form)!

While it's widely viewed as one of the weaker mainline Mario games, it's partly Sunshine that has us - and many fellow gamers - most excited to play this compilation. Unlike Super Mario 64, which has seen a reworking for the DS, and the more recent Mario GalaxySunshine had remained an obscure, scarcely-revi♎sited gaꦇme for many.

It's remained 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:trapped on the long-defunct GameCube for nearly two decades now - and the high-res polish particularly makes this bright, vibrant game flourish.

5 ꦅ Wish We Saw: Better Performance/Graphics

Super Mario 3D All-stars Mario Sunshine graphical comparison

Despite the HD enhancements and (very) minor gameplay refinements here and there, many have remarked that the technical improvements could have been greater. Sure, fans get to bask in the high-res radiance of Sunshine, and soar through the vib🀅ꦯrant galaxy at a smooth 60 frames-per-second.

Yet, Nintendo didn't bother bringing this smoother frame rate to either Super Mario 64 or Sunshine. Rather, both are capped at 30. As one might expect given its original console, there's still a notable bump in resolution for Mario 64 - yet the game's resol𝓡ution is just 960 x 720, compared to 1920 x 1080 for the other two.

Despite the enhancements compared to the N64, it's something of a bummer to have a lack of widescreen support for Super Mario 64, and 60FPS for Sunshine.

Performing basic functions like nabbing Star Bits and spinning feel a degree smoother and sharper than they did when playing on the Wii. Not only this, but the touchscreen can also be used in handheld mode to execute these same♑ functions with ease.

3 Wish We Saw: Super Marꦕio Galaxy 2

Super Mario Galaxy 2 environment with Mario on Yoshi

For many Galaxy fans, it was the 2010 sequel that really shined over its predecessor. It took the charming planet-hopping formula from the first game and dialed up the scale. It also added more content and diverse, lush environments - not to mention Marওio's dino companion, Yo☂shi!

Thus, both fans and list writers alike were displeased to learn tജhat this terrific sequel was left out on this coꦗllection.

But hey - there's always the chance to see it oဣn a theoretical "Super Mario 3D-Allstars 2" in 2030...

2 ✨Excited About: 3 Of The Best Mario Platformers In Glorious HD

Super Mario 3D-Allstars title screen with all 3 games

Let's face it - the allure of replaying 3 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:top-tier 3D platformers in glorious high definition for the first time is a huge selling point in and of itself. Even the blocky Super Mario 64, despite its lack of widescreen, is a joy to revisit - especially with the muddled textures and fuzzy resol♛🌳ution of yesteryear cleaned up.

Then, of course, there's the majestic Sunshine and Galaxy, both of which hold up we👍ll today. And now with their modern-day polish, both of these games manage to shine more than ever.

1 🌟 🥀 Wish We Saw: Extra Content

Super Mario 3D World plus Bowser's Fury

Given the fairly 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:steep price of 60USD, one would have expected a bit more bonus content and/or features outside of a soundtrack and descriptive blurb for each game. There's really a slew of potential ideas on this front - perhaps a couple of bonus "chapters" a la Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition?

Even something as minor as new skins/themes or online challenges and leaderboards could have gone a long way in making this package look more appealing. Still, it's tough not to be enticed by this even with its rough price, given its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:limited availability.
