Although the Switch version of the game keeps the events of the ending the same, . Instead of crying in front of Mario, Donkey Kong instead looks at the ground defeated and doesn't show as much emotion. Mario still ends up giving him a Mini Mario and telling him that it's "okay", but fans think that it comes off as more of a genuine offer from the plumber.
