As has been the case for all of the other remakes so far, Mario vs Donkey Kong isn't just going to improve the graphics of the original game and let it be playable for a new audience - it's also going to make some changes and improvements to the original that make it the definitive version of the game.
The first trailer for Mario vs Donkey Kong didn't really show any of this off and made it look more like a prettier version of the original game, . One of the biggest bits of new content is the addition of two brand-new worlds, Merry Mini-Land and Slippery Summit, which feature "new enemies and distinct play mechanic🌄s to keep you on your to🤪es".
We get a brief glimpse of these new worlds in action as part of the trailer, with Mario seen climbing through an amusement park level and an ice world. These new worlds aren't all that Mario vs Donkey Kong is introducing, though as there's also a two-player mode that lets one player control Toad as they help Mario out through the puzzles.
Some fans have also pointed out that, despite Charles Martinet leaving the role and having been replaced for Super Mario Wonder, Mario vs Donkey Kong actually still seems to use Martinet's voice clips for Mario.
Speaking of the puzzles, if you found the original game a little bit too challenging then you'll be happy to know that Mario vs Donkey Kong's remake is also introducing a new difficulty mode called "Casual" that lets you turn into a bubble, just like you could in Super Mario 3D World whenever you're hit by an enemy.
