Marvel’s Avengers is an aptly (yet confusingly) named role-playing game that did not quite make the lasting impression that it was hoping for. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, Marvel’s Avengers 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:has been criticized for a number of mechanics and for the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:duration of gameplay.

That aside, the game has plenty of heart. The cutscenes and in-game character interactions are packed with witty, and sometimes hilarious, dialogue that’s expertly delivered by an all-star cast of voice actors. Though this is by no means a comprehensive list of the treasures hidden in Marvel’s Avengers’ script, here are some of the quotes that made a lasting impression on us. By the way, in case it wasn't obvious, spoilers are ahead for Marvel's Avengers!

12 “I Would’ve Gone With𝐆 Rocket Man&rdqu♋o;

Iron Man in Marvel's Avengers

There’s a running joke 𒉰in the game that Tony Stark disapproves of an anonymous hacker’s username that 𒅌references a certain Elton John song. Upon first seeing it on his screen, he chides the user for not picking what (he felt) was clearly the optimal reference: Rocket Man.

Naturally, when it’s revealed that Black Widow was the hacker known as Tiny Dancer, he tries to hit her with the joke, but she beats him to it, causing him to hilariously back peddl🐻e.

11 “Every Hero Has To Start Somewhere” ꧃

Avengers in Marvel's Avengers

Another repeating bit, although this one carries a little more gravitas, is the line, “every hero has to starওt somewhere.” Kamala Khan first says it to Thor when she runs into the God of Thunder in the opening sequence.

It’s cute and confident and then five minutes later she experiences her Hero Origin Story, which is… pretty devastating for the city of San Francisꦺco. Later, Thor repeats the line to her when they meet again, as equal comrades on the field of battle.

10 💯 “Sometimes, Dirty Hands Do The Best Work” 𝔉

Cap and Black Widow in Marvel's Avengers

Black Widow’s got red in her ledger, and the movie version of her never lets us forget it. She never brings it up in this game, but she does make a point to tell the other Avengers that the reason she stayed hidden after the events of A-Day (a toxic explosion thaౠt created a new wave of Inhumans and also allegedly killed Captain America) was that she alone was willing to do the hard things necessary to make the world a better place.

If this line was delivered by literally anyone else&helliꦫp; it wouไld absolutely be considered a villain thing.

9 &ldquo𝔉;Tony… Are You Hugging Me?”

Avengers in Marvel's Avengers

Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are not known for their dramatic displays of affection, nor are they known for having the best relationship with each other either, but when Tꦏony finds out that Steve didn’t die during the events of A-Day, well, he gets a touch emotional.

As Steve falls out of his stasis chamber, Tony catches him… and doesn’t let go for a while. The best part about this line is that Steve doesn’t say it mockingly, it’s spoken with genuine surprise, and also maybe a little joy. Tony deniඣes it, of course, but we all know the truth.

8 “These Powers Are Part Of Us And All I Do Know… It’s A Lot Better If You Just Embrace Them. Or Something Like Th🌃at”

Hulk in Marvel's Avengers

Bruce Banner acts as a begrudging mentor figure 🐻for Kama🧸la in her time of greatest need. It’s a rocky bond at best, but the two ultimately work well together.

When Kamala opens up about her insecurities, Bruce manages to push through his own discomfort with emotional vulnerability to delಞiver an incredibly affecting, if not brief, speech that lifts Kamala’s spi🏅rits enough to keep pressing onward with the mission.

7 🔯 “Wait! Aren’t You Going To Say The Thing?” 🌞

Avengers in Marvel's Avengers

Near the end of the game, when all the Avengers have been… ah…. assembled, they brace to leave for the final mission, fully 𓄧decked out in upgraded gear from Tony. Just before they jump into the fray, Kamala asks this question, because it surprises her that Steve doesn’t immediately use, “Avengers, assemble” as his rally cry.

It’s a fun moment that makes Kamala one with the player, who was also definitely waiting for that particular line, but according to Tony, they "don't really say that."

6 “I ♕C🐈an’t Do It All But I Will Do What I Can And That’s Enough”

Cap in Marvel's Avengers

This piece of dialogue is not requi🍌red but the player can stumble across it if they make sure to interact with Steve after he’s back on the team. Kamala, who’s been a massive fan of the Avengers from a young age, bombards him with a slew of questions about how to be a superhero.

Steve answers in the only way that Captain America ca🌳n; perfectly, inspirationally, and just a little bit cheesily.

5 “I May Incinerate On Take-O🦩ff, But I&r🅰squo;ll Look Damn Good Doing It”

avengers iron man

Itꦇ should come as no surprise that Tony Stark delivers the vainest line in the entire script that somehow doubles as the brightest red flag in regards to personal safety. He says it to Kamala, after revealing a new suit that he’s been tinkering with.

As with all of his inventions, it’s incredible and innovative, and highly volatile. What's not to love?

4 ♛“Regret Is The Sign Of A Man Who Reflects On His Mistakes And Vows To Do Better” 🐻

marvel's avengers captain america

Steve’s nuggets of wisdom all read like fortune cookies, but they’re also not wrong. This one was a reminder for Kamala that there is always an opportunity to get back on the right track. Steve doesn't pretend that everything will be easy or okay, and in the context of the conversation, it's abundantly clear that he's reflecting on his own actions as he speaks.

This one resonates with players because, honestly, who doesn't want to believe that they can be better in the future than they are in the present, or even the past?

3 “Good Isn’t A Thing You Are, It&rsq♛uo;s A Thing🤪 You Do”

Marvel's Avengers

Kamala’s father says this to her at the beginning of the game, and it’s a lesson that she finds repeated around her by multiple heroes. It's kind of her personal mantra, actually. As everyone around her questions their morality, their choices, even their worth, ultimately, it comes down to Kamala to remind them that as long as the right actions are taken, then it doesn't matter who takes them.
