The game is about the famous superhero team, but it's also about encouraging players to gather loot, which is incompatible with the characters in play. Why would a character like the Hulk need the equivalent of MMO magic items to function? This type of gameplay works best for characters who are a blank slate, and aren't so defined by an established history that is still taking place across different forms of media. It's a bit of a strange implication that seemingly indestructible superhumans wౠould need to pick up scraps to not get killed by dinky robots.
The game is also severely lacking in enemy types, to the point where you can expect to fight the same group of AIM soldiers & rob🐻ots throughout the enꦇtirety of the game. The loot on offer also isn't very exciting, and the upgrades feel minimal, especially when compared to items in games in the Borderlands, Destiny, and Diablo series. This leaves a game with characters who don't fit into the looter mold, where the items aren't exciting and the enemy types are repetitive.
