With so many expansions and variables during gameplay, Marvel Legendary really is one of the finest tabletop board gam🥃es for Marvel fans. What makes the game so interesting however are the Schemes. These are the evil plots that the Mastermind vi💛llains will be trying to fulfill and players are tasked with stopping.
While some of these are pretty easy to clear, others require players to coordinate their strategies, use all their best instincts, and get lucky to clear. Here are the 10 hardest schemes in all of Marvel Legendary.
It's also worth noting that the difficulty of schemes will vary greatly depending on t🍃he Mastermind in play, but these schemes should be challenging no matter who the Mastermind is.
10 🦄 The Legacy Virus (Base Game) 🦩
As the only Scheme from the base game of Marvel Legendary, "The Legacy Virus" has to be a doozy to stand the test o𒆙f time anꦍd it indeed is.
Based on a virus in the X-Men comics which plagued mutants for many years, this Scheme is simple as it merely giveꦦs out wounds for each player who doesn't reveal a tech hero. Evil wins if the stack runs out. The catch instead of the full wounds deck, the deck only has 6 per player. This means that if you d🧸on't have many tech heroes in your roster or if play against Masterminds/Villains who give out lots of wounds, you can lose quickly. Keep in mind KOd wounds don't return to the stack so there's no way to save yourself once you receive a wound.
9 🐠 Go Back In Time &𝔉; Slay The Heroes' Ancestors (Captain America 75th Anniversary)
The schemes found in the Captain America 75th Anniversary expansion are some of the most creative in the game and this one is not only imagina🐼tive but also challenging. Which brings us to this scheme.
This Scheme makes it so the hero deck has a whooping 8 heroes but each Scheme Twist 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:completely purges a hero from the game and when all of them are gone, 🐻evil wins! While this seems pretty basic, it toys with your strategies of when to recruit heroes from the HQ and never knowing when a hero will be completely wiped out. Also the extra heroes can make it difficult for you to get to the cards you want.
8 Kree/Skrull War (Guardians Of The Galaxy) ꦑ
Based on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:classic Avengers storyline of the same name, this is a unique Scheme that force🃏s you to include both the Kree Starforce and Skrulls villain groups. While those groups aren't exactly top-tier difficulty wise, this Scheme will test your city management skills mor🔴e than most.
Whenever a Scheme Twist occurs, all Skrull and Kree villains escape the city. Then whichever side has more villains in the escape pile get a Twist stacked to their side. Whichever side gets to 4 Twists first wins. Players will constantly have to think about which villains to hit alongside hitting the Mastermind which is punishing no matter whaღt the set-💧up.
7 🥃 Fountain ꦺOf Eternal Life (Secret Wars Vol.2)
One of the most challenging keywords in the game is Fateful Ressurection which will resurrect its card from your Victory Pile if the top card of the deck is a Scheme Twi💟st or Master Strike. So when you have a Scheme based on that, it's insanely hꦏard.
Not only do💮 a𒐪ll Villains and Mastermind tactics receive that keyword here, but a Scheme Twist will cause an enemy from your Victory Pile to re-enter the city. Even worse, the Scheme Twist is added back to the bottom of your deck. Evil wins when the escaped number of villain is 3 times the number of players and since they come so fast, good luck trying to keep up.
6 ꧂ The Dark Phoenix Saga (X-Men)
This Scheme as the name implies is based on the X-Men storyline of the same name and includes 14 Jean Grey hero cards in the Villain deck. Their attack is equal to their cost and while you can gain them as heroes if you fight them, their Ambush effect plays another villain card from the deck.
Just like a phoenix, the Scheme Twist here shuffles all Jean Grey cards from the KO pile, discard pile and hands of players back into the villain deck. Once five Jean Grey cards escape the city, players lose. So this Scheme steals cards you earned, plays extra villain cards and forces to you use one of the hardest Villain groups in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:form of the Hellfire Club. You w🍃ill need all th🧸e psionic power you can to win.
5 Detonate The Helicarrier (Dark C🌺ity) 🔯
In general, timer-based Schemes are always a challenge in Marvel Legendary but this one is considered one of its toughest. Each time a Scheme Twists comes up here, a hero is KOd from the HQ and put face down as an "explosion". Once🅺 6 explosions occur in one space, that space is eliminated entirely.
The problem is that these Scheme Twists stack so by the 4th one, you are starting to sw🔜⛎eat as the amount of heroes you can recruit is lowered and it's getting to crunch time. Racing against the clock with a lower amount of heroes available to recruit makes this a punishing scheme.
4 𝕴 Organized Crime W𝔉ave (Dark City)
While many Schemes have to do with fantasy/sci-fi themes, this is one of those 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:based around more street-level ☂heroics. This Scheme forces players to include "Maggia Goons" henchmen in the Villain Deck where they gain the Ambush ability to play another card from the♑🎐 Villain Deck. Once 5 "Maggia Goons" escape, you lose.
The henchmen themselves aren't too tough to take out, but the Scheme Twist forces all of the defeated ones back into the Villain Deck, keeping an endless flow of villains to emerge. If the Ambush effects don't do you in, the Scheme Twists will.
3 🎉 Five Families Of Crime (Noir)
In a similar Scheme themati✱cally speaking to the last entry, this one adds two extra Villain Groups and divides the Villain Deck into five seperate piles below each city space. On your turn, you choose which pile gets a card played from it. The difficulty kicks🐎 up when you consider that each deck only uses that city space, meaning villains can escape very easily.
Worst of all, Scheme Twists cause to play two cards from one deck meaning there's a good chance a villain will escape. Once 8 villains escape or all the Vilꦫlain Decks run out, players lose. Even 𒈔the most skilled players will put on the backfoot when playing this Scheme.
2 𝓰 Fragmented Realities (Secret Wars Vol.1)
Very often in Marvel Comics the universe wil💦l split or converge with other realities causing a massive split. This is ꦏalways a tremendous task for heroes to overcome and this Scheme certainly feels like an insurmountable challenge.
Instead of the regular city, each player gets their own "dimension" in front of them with a single space each and their own villain deck with two Scheme Twists in it. T🌺he twists have a basic mechanic of playing two cards from your Villain Deck but since it's only one space, it's almost guaranteed to have a villain escape
Evil wins when the number o♐f non-grey He🔜roes is 5 times the players and since Villains KO somebody in the HQ when they escape, this will happen very quickly no matter what.
1 ജ The Unbreak😼able Enigma Code (Captain America 75th Anniversary)
In𝔉teresting fact: this Scheme is based on a real-life code used in . It was considered extremely hard to crack and this Scheme🌄 is no different.
Instead of being able to hit the Mastermind regularly, players have to guess the168澳洲幸运5开奖网: face-down "code" which is determined by the class of heroes placed face-down. The problem though is that each Scheme Twists scrambles the code again which maജkes this process difficult. Considering you have to hit the Mastermind four t⛄imes to win and players lose once the 6th twist is played, this makes it the hardest Scheme in the game.
