The Fantastic Four: First Steps will have hit theaters by the time you read this and, 168澳洲幸运ꦚ5开奖网:if its review scores are anything to go by, Marvel has finally nailed the F4 movie formula at the fourth time of asking, which is rather fitting. To mark the occasion, Hasbro sent me all six of its new Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps action figures. What I wasn’t expecting was for those figures to be what kick-started my son’s interest in the MCU.
My Son Loves Marvel, But He Was Unfamiliar With The Fantastic Four
My son is five and, thanks to my love of all things Marvel and the fact that all children above the age of three develop a healthy obsession with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Spider-Man, he is well aware of comic books and superheroes. Watching him gravitate towards certain heroes has been a lot of fun, but subjecting a five-year-old to the enti🅠re MCU, and trying to convince him to watch it in chronological order, is a little much. Even I know that.

I Was Thoroughly Unpr💎epared For How Far Transformers Action Figures Have Come
Today's Transformers action figures are ꦑa lot more advanced and complex than the ones I'm used to.
That’s where the new Fantastic Four figure𓆉s come in. When I sat down to unbox them and take a closer look at their finer details, my son noticed me playing with toys and wandered over to see what all the fuss was about. I expected him to play with them a little, ask about who they are, and then wander off again.
That’s not what happened. 90 minutes later and he was still playing with them – long enough to officiallꦇy confirm that they are now his action figures, not mine. He didn’t need me to show him which acc💖essories go where and who has what powers. Like most of us did as kids, he started making up his own stories.
All Six Figures Are Equipped With Accessories That Perfectly Represent Their Powers
He is now a fully-fledged Fantastic Four fan despite his only exposure to Marvel’s First Family before this being glimpses of them in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel Rivals. The toys are modeled after the characters in First Steps, not their Rivals equivalents. The 🦄connection is naturally there, though, not only due to how similar they look, but also thanks to their powers.
Mister Fantastic’s figure, for example, has interchangeable arms - a regular set, and a super-long set to represent his stretchy powers. Invisible Woman’s Marvel Legends figure comes with a translucent plastic shield to represent her powers, and Johnny Storm has been bl꧃essed with two figures (one of which is ablaze) since accessories alone aren’t really enough to properly represent what exactly the Human Torch is capable of.
The collection is rounded out by a beefy Thing figure and the Silver Surfer, all equipped with accessories and interchangeable parts, and al♔l lending a hand to introduce my son to the MCU through the medium of toys.
He’s Not Quite Ready For The Full Force Of The MCU, But It’s A Start
It was not an entry point I had ever considered before. When I was a kid, you’d watch movies and then beg your parents to buy you the action figures connected to them. Today’s action figures are of a much higher standard than the ones I played with back then. So much so that they can be what makes you want to go and see ꦑthe movies rather than the other way around.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not about to take my son with me to go and see First Steps at the cinema - although, he did drag me to see A Minecraft Movie, so he does owe me one. I’m not going to sit him down to watch Iron Man either, thus beginning his chronological journey through 15 years of what has now become an intricate web of♐ interconnected movies and TV shows.
🐠Th✃e MCU is ten years older than my son. I felt three more hairs turn grey as I typed that.
However, there will be a time when he wants to start watching MCU movies, maybe from the very beginning, maybe from a random pointᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ he likes the look of based on his favorite heroes. That random point might well end up being First Steps thanks to his soft introduction to the MCU through action figures. He’ll see them on a screen one day, and to him, the characters on-screen will be his toys coming to life rather than the other way around.
