While most licensed mobile games don't tend to last long, Marvel Puzzle Quest has been going strong for nearly a decade. Along the way the game has gone through many changes, not the least of which 𒉰is the answer toꦕ the eternal question: who should players have on their roster?
While this question is relatively easy to answer for one- to three-star tiers, since new characters have appeared in the game for years, the four-star tier now has over 100 characters players may recruit. 5-star characters exist but they're so hard for most players to get consistent covers for, it's a more realistic goal to build a strong 4-star roster once you've spent a lot of time with the game.
10 ꩲ Polaris (Lorna Dane) ꧑
While she might look like what would happen if 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Scarlet 💫Witch got dipped in a green 🧜paint job, Polaris is the daugh👍ter of Magneto and outclasses any version of her father in the game.
The name of the ga♒me with Polaris is special tiles. Not only does her green power "Particle Accelerator" deal damage for each special tile on the board (including enemy special tiles), but when her team matches or destroys a Strike, Attack or Protect tile, her Purple power "Electromagnetic Resonance" will deal more damage and create more special tiles. This means that single cascade from a high level Polaris can put her opponents in an unwinnable state. If things ever get tough for Polaris she can also stun opponents and create even more special tiles with her low cost "Iron Proficiency&𒈔quot; blue power.
9 🦩 Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) ♊
Players will want to build a team of Countdown tile characters when playing with Captain Marvel, as that's what makes Captain Marvel such a menace to fight.
Her black power "Photonic Barrage" creates a five-turn Countdown tile that will generate Strike tiles every turn and then when it goes off does a ton of damage. Her Yellow power is a cheap one that can reduce any friendly Countdown tile to zero but even better, she has a passive on it that will improve friendly tiles by a good amount whenever any Countdown tile expires. Just those two alone are great but her green passive "Energy Manipulatio🍒n" also ensures that your strongest color will have plenty of AP (action points) and potentially even deal damage to the enemy team.
8 Vultur🌄e (Adrian Toomes) 🐼
Vulture can be the sta✱r of any given Marvel Puzzle Quest team or be the ultimate support character. With three incredible powers, Vulture should always be a priority for enemy playꦅers to eliminate first.
His black power is what literally puts him head and shoulders above the competition as for a mere 6 AP, Vulture will go Airborne for two turns (making him invulnerable toꦰ most kinds of damage) and he will ಌgain Green, Blue, Black and Red AP.
His green power "One Fell Swoop" is a solid damaging countdown tile that if it exists when Vulture returns from being Airborne will deal💯 damage to the entire enemy team instead of a single target. Finally, his Blue power "Hybrid Tech Slicer" can deal great damage to a single target and remove Strike, Protect or Attack tiles but if you have 10 Blue AP and have Vulture go Airborne, it will use that AP to destroy those tiles plus Invisibility, 🐓Countdown and Repeater tiles.
7 Mantis🐼 (Guardians Of The Galaxy)
MCU fans may remember in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 that Mantis was doubting her own abilities before Drax gave her the encouragement s💮he needed to save the day. She must have really taken that en🐼couragement to heart as Mantis is one of the most annoying characters to fight against in Marvel Puzzle Quest.
While her Yellow power "Oversharing" is nothing to write home about, her purple "You Are Afraid!" power is. Whenever you match or destroy an enemy special tile, a Purple countdown will be created that stuns a random enemy and if they're already stunned, will deal damage to them. Since special tiles are all the rage in MPQ, this power will trigger very often. If that isn't enough stuns for you, you can use her "Sleep!" green power that will make a countdown tile which stuns the opponent when expired. However, this power jumps up several notches when it reaches level five and then it becomes a repeater tile.
6 America Chavez (Young ﷺAvengers)
With no active powers, America Chavez seems like a bizarre character to be considered so potent, but her passives are simply that damn good. Compared to other characters, there isn't much to say with America Chavez as all a player has to do is make sure they have more AP than their opponent across the color spectrum and America Chavez will hit harder on matches with her Red power "Punch Everyone" and create Critical tiles with her green power "Fear Not, Mi Gente!". Her Yellow "Ticket To The Multiverse" power simply needs her team to match 4 in a row to create Trap tiles and when enough are made, she will remove them to deal damage and generate AP. America Chavez is simple, but oh so effective.
5 Peggy C🧸arter (Captain America)
Fun fact: the Peggy Carter version of Captain America was actually first seen in this video game, not in the comics or the MCU's What If? series. And w🃏hat a debut it was as years after her release, Peggy Carter is still an elite 4-star character.
Her Red power is a simple damage dealer that will ignore enemy Protect tiles, but it's her Yellow and Blue powers where she earns her military honor. Her Yellow "Legendary Presence" will make her enemy team's powers cost more as long as Carter's health is above a certain amount. This is great to slow down blitzing teams but not only that, her Blue power "Do As Peggy Says" will stun any enemies not in front and then place Countdown tiles that damage the target when expired.
4 𓃲 Medusa (Inhuman Queen) ♈
Medusa is not only a hard counter to special tile specialists, but she can use their own best weapons against them and then some. Not only does her Yellow passive power "The Resolute Queen" heal your team if a friendly Strike, Protect or Attack tile and gain AP if it was an ene𒅌my Strike, Protect or Attack tile. Her s๊olid Red passive power "Entangled" automatically creates a Countdown tile that deals damage every turn but when matched, will create Attack tiles.
What turns Medusa is a powerhouse and a really great counter to special tile users is her Purple power "Hair Meddle" which will swap tiles, steal enemy Strike, Protect and Attack tiles and improve them. If you're feeling burdened by special tiles, Medusa is your best answer.
3 ⛄ Karnak (The Shattere🧸r)
While only the most𓂃 hardcore Marvel fans care about Karnak of the Inhumans, his appearance on an enemy team in Marvel Puzzle Quest makes everybody sweat profusely.
Karnak's Black power "Find The Flaw" at first simply makes sure a decent Protect tile is in play at the start of all your turns but after a four turns, it will become "Exploit The Flaw" and then, Karnak's match damage jumps up to a ridiculous degree. His Blue power "Probing Strike" also is incredible once "Exploit The Flaw" is active as it deals a small amount of damage and creates Critical tiles which in Karnak's hands are even deadlier than normal. His Red power is weak to the point where it doesn't need to be discussed but the sheer damage his Black & Blue powers cause is reason enough to play him.
2 ꦫ Rocket And Groot💞 (Awesome Mix Volume 2)
While Rocket & Groot are definitely not a bad character by any means, they definitely find their way atop the rankings on the basis of their Yellow power "Welcome To The Team" which automatically places a few decently strong Strike tiles at the start of a battle which are even higher strength if 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you have a♛nother Guardians member on the 🅠team.
Their mediocre Blue power "Rocket's Pack" creates a single Countdown tile that activates every turn, dealing damage and an Attack tile. Their Green power "Don't Push This Button" is a great power that creates a Countdown tile that deals massive damage to the enemy team but if it is matched, will deal some of that damage to your team instead. What's cooler (and a bit dangerous) is that when the countdown is active, Groot will make an extra match each turn which may set off the bomb early. Well, probably shouldn't have trusted a baby with explosives.
1 𝓡 Juggernaut (Fear Itself)
In a superhero universe full of 👍big boys who hit big things, Juggernaut is one of the strongest. Now give him an Asgardian weapon and see the world crumble at his massive feet.
Juggernaut's only active power is his Blue "Breaker of Stone" power which will destroy tiles which is nothing special but his Red "Unstoppable" and Green "Collateral" passive powers sure are. His green one will deal damage to the enemy team whenever he makes a match and his Red will increase his match damage and decrease the damage from enemy matches. He's not fancy, but his high health stats and ridiculous match damage puts him above most 4 stars.
