Marvel Rivals is finally trying to tackle one of its biggest problems in ranked - the rampant smurfing at lower levels.

While it's not placement matches, noticed that NetEase appears to have recently updated the report system in Marvel Rivals, as players now have the option to report someone for smurfing.

To do this yourself, you ꧅need to head to the player you want to report - you can usually tell if it's a smurf account if it's a particularly low level yet high rank. You'll then need to choose the option to report someone for Negative Behaviour, and you'll the see the Smurfing option right there. Hopefulꦬly, this will ease the problem a little, though we have no idea how NetEase is going to police things.

There is speculation that NetEase will police accounts via hardware, which would allow anyone jumping from PC to a console to a𒁃void being unfairly flagged as a smurfer. IntoTheRain78 also claims that they've seen more details about smurf reporting on a Japanese website, claiming that you'll receive a first warning, though they don't share a link, and it's impossible to verify.

That being 🍨said, all you need to do is report people you suspect are smurfing and then let the system work as intended. If we get placement matches to go alongside this new reporting system, the more competitive Marvel Rivals scene could start looking a bit healthier.
