Annihilus Ability Explained

Annihilus card from Marvel Snap

Annihilus has a very unique ability that allows him to fit into a variety of deck archetypes, especially the Junk and Lockdown decks.

Annihilus is a five-cost, seven-Power card that has the effect: On reveal, all of your cards with zero or less Power switch sides. Cards that can't switch sides are instead destroyed.

This means that your cards that have zero or negative Power, like the Hood, the Sentry's the Void, or Rocks created from Debrii, will attempt to move to the opponent's side of the board. If there is no room for them, like if the location is already full, these cards will instead be destroyed.

Substitutions

Marvel Snap Card Luke Cage

Luke Cage and Hazmat are two cards that perform very well together, especially after sending low-Power cards to the enemy's side. Hazmat will reduce the power of every card on the board by one, while Luke Cage will protect your ow🐭n cards fr🌜om having their Power lowered.

Man-Thing can be a good addition, especially against decks with lots of low-Cost cards like the Bounce archetype.

Armor can protect your Sentry from being destroyed by Shang-Chi, or you can use her offensively to prevent the opponent from destroying the junk cards you send to their side.

Playing The Deck

the sentry card from Marvel Snap

The general idea of this deck is to fill up the locations with rocks from Debrii, stopping your opponent from playing their cards. Then, you can send your rocks to their side, clearing your side and further filling theirs.

Sentry has the biggest swing potential in this deck. Ideally, you would play Sentry on turn four, Annihilus on turn five to send the Void to the enemy's side, then Alioth on turn six to secure the final location. This three-card combo alone can win a lot of games, especially if you can correctly predict where they will play with Alioth.

Marvel Snap Nebula Deck Professor X standard variant

Daredevil and Professor X are a tried-and-true combination that can lock down a lane on their own. Playing Professor X at the right location can then prevent the Void from being summoned there if you don't draw Viper or Annihilus to send it over.

Death is used as a surprise turn six drop, especially against decks that are destroying cards of their own. With Death, you can secure one location with Sentry for at least 22 Power, then use Alioth or Prof🅘essor X to take care of the second location. There are tons of different ways to succe🅠ed with this deck; you are limited only by our own ingenuity!
