So far, we know that the story features a more experienced Spider-Man than we usually see - this Peter Parker༺ is out of high school, and is a veteran superhero by this point in his career. The story's main villain - as far as promotional mater🔴ial seems to indicate - will be Mr. Negative aka Martin Li, a mutated baddie with the ability to corrupt those he touches into evil versions of themselves. It's been indicated that Miles Morales, who took on the mantle of Spider-Man in Marvel's Ultimate universe, will also appear in the game, possibly as an apprentice to Peter Parker's hero.
Expectations are extremely high for the product; Marvel Entertainment has ma꧟de every indication that they are done with cheap video game tie-ins, and both their and Sony's reputations are riding on the success of the game. Impressions from last year's init🌃ial showings were extremely positive. On top of all that, Insomniac Games has rarely put out a sub-par product; even Sunset Overdrive, a project worked on with Microsoft Studios that failed to meet sales goals, received positive reviews.
Trailers for the game have shown off a few other notable faces - Norman Osborne seems to be running for political office in this version of New York City; the Kingpin is under arresܫt; Aunt May is alive and well.
In addition to those we can spot in the trailers, we can assume that the game will feature plenty of classic Spider-Man characters. Though the game and current Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are not related, we can expect some cross-promotional opportunities - villains like the Vulture, Scorpion, and Shocker may very well appear, as well as other 𒐪members of the Sinister Six, who are speculated to be the villains of Spider-Man: Homecoming's 2019 sequel.
Hopefully, ꦿthe game will stand up when compared with other beloved Spider-Man games, especially Spider-Man 2: The Movie: The Game - or even Maxim🎃um Carnage.
