A couple of years ago, Ravensburger Games unveiled a tabletop strategy game for an entire family to play. The game involves players controlling some of Disn🎐ey's most well-received villains in an attempt to achieve their ඣobjectives faster than other players. Disney fans around the world now love the game.

The game developer rolled out two expansion packs since its release, marking the introduction of more antagonists into the game. The game developer announced another update with three new villains ahead of the London Toy Fair 2020. With Marvel Comics as a major Disney property, here are villains we want to de𝄹but in the game, and a few we don't.

Updated January 11th, 2021 by Patrick Mocella: While it didn't come close to the level of critical acclaim and success as its Disney counterpart, Marvel Villainous is still a fun competitive game from Ravensburger that is ripe with potential. With a rumored fourth expansion likely being the final one for Disney, the rumor mill is silent on the Marvel side of things. There certainly are tons of villains and corners of the Marvel Universe that haven't been explored in Marvel Villainous but some foes should be steered clear of in the design process. Here are some more characters we want to see in an expansion and some we don't.

15 𝄹 💖 Want: Venom

Mortal Kombat Guest Characters - Venom

Although current Marvel Comics and the 2018 movie have fully transformed Venom into an anti-hero, he is still most well knౠown to the mainstream as one of Spider-Man's most popular villains.

With his powers being a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:dark mirror of Spider-Man's and his powers affording several ab𝕴ilities that can work as effect cards in his deck, Venom can be a great addition to Marvel Villainous. His objective can work as a mix of Ratigan and Yzma in Disney Villainous, revolving around separating Spider-Man from the symbiote, claiming the al👍ien life form and defeating the wall-crawler.

14 Don't: Carnage ꦓ

spider-man carnage

In terms of popularity, one cannot deny that Carnage is a good candidate for Marvel Villainous. A big-time villain in Spider-Man's rogues' gallery and a one-time leader of a group with other Spidey foes, Carnage on paper c🐷ould fit in well. But there are some issues.

The main problem with Carnage is that his goal would likely be too basic and/or uninspired. Carnage's entire schtick is to ca💧use mayhem and destruction without purpose, making the system of Villainous a tough fit for him. As well, Venom is a fellow symbiote who fits the game much better than Carnage ever could.

13 ▨ Want: Loki 🌳

loki tom hiddleston banner

If there is anybody who is practically guaranteed to be in an expansion for Marvel Villainous, it would ha𓄧ve to be Thor's brother Loki. The rulebook for the game even teases him with a silh🐽ouette.

Loki's deck would likely revolve around effects and items as he has used tons of magical artifacts and spells during his time as Thor's arch-enemy. His deck could possibly take a 🐓cue from Maleficent in Disn𓆉ey Villainous to play an effect on every location in his realm. With Loki being such a fan favorite in both the MCU and comics, he is a shoo-in.

12 𒁏 Dꦺon't: Vulture

spider-man ps4 vulture little known facts vulture 2

Although Marvel Villainous is not explicitly based on th🎀e MCU, it is likely no coincidence that all of the villains in the base game are in a MCU movie. Even if he was a great villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Vulture is🦩 not the best choice for Marvel Villainous.

Aside from that movie, Vulture is more often portrayed as a lackey of other bigger villains like🌱 Doc Ock. While his technology is impressive, it's not as spectacular to include in a 30 card deck of his own. His objective also wouldn't be anything spectacular as he is normally just about pulling off financiaಌl heists.

11 ꦛ 𒉰 Want: Galactus

Marvel Galactus Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four might not be on the level of X-Men or Spider-Man in terms of mainstream popularity, but Marvel's First Family has a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:heck of a rogues' gallery and near the to🃏p of that list is the World-Eater, a.k.a Galactus.

Galactus is easily unique and popular 💛enough to be the face of his own expansion. Considering his nature to eat planets, he can potentially use the "lock token" mechanic from Disney Villainous to lock out other player's realms and eventually devour them. His various heralds like Silver Surfer and Firelord can serve as allies to Galactus and/or heroes in his "fate" cards. Galactus can bring some new innovations to the table in Marvel Villainous.

10 Want: Doctor Doom 𓂃🌱

Doctor Doom

Dr. Doom doesn't believe in sympathizing. This guy lusts for power and is often touted as the epitome of arrogance. He doesn't even refrain from thinking that he is the world's most gifted man. T💯his is why he constantly goes toe-to-toe with Mr. Fantastic and the rest of his teammates.

He teams up with heroes to take on common enemies. But Doctor Doom has an evil, secret agenda that will give him an advantage at the end. Doctor Doom has everything i🔜t takes to be one of the top baddies in Marvel Villainous.

9 💟 Don't Want: Magneto ꦗ

Magneto

He is touted as one of Marvel's best villains of all time but Magneto has also joined the X-Men to make existence between humans and mutants possible. This shows his superhero side. He is bent on making mutants the more dominant species on the planet. But he continues to stumble away from villainy as he ♑takes the higher path.

Moreover, Magneto tends to succumb to his inner rage which is a result of his tragic past. Magneto is an evil mutant. But players are more likely♉ to sympathize with him rather than see him as a new Marvel Villa🐠nous character in the upcoming expansion.

8 ꧋ Want: Dark Phoenix

Dark Phoenix

Touted as one of X-Me🍌n's greatest stories, The Dark Phoenix Saga features an indestructible force dubbed The Phoenix Force. Young Jean Grey is possessed by a cosmic entity that gives her unimaginab♋le power and an uber-cool costume to match. Jean is corrupted by her powers when the Mastermind uses his power to control her.

A must-have character in Marvel Villainous, the Dark Phoenix is more powerful than almost any other villain in tꦚhe multiverse. She ate entire suns, claiming trillions of lives in the process through her ♏various acts. She killed herself to end the curse of the Phoenix but returns to life. Players would love to use her intense power in the board game.

7 ♒ Don't Want: Red Skull ဣ

Red Skull

Despite his ghoulish outward appearance, Red Skull is not a villain we'd like to see in Marvel Villai🍸nous. His only notable feature includes enhanced strength. Moreover, he is not anywhere close to being as powerful as the other Marvel villains.

Red Skull has a black soul th🌜at lacks morality. He is willing to do whatever it takes to rule the wor𝓀ld. While he is a genius, Red Skull lacks power-packed moves that can come in handy in the board game. Red Skull is not an ideal villain to be included in the board game also because he is a Nazi. We do not want kids roleplaying Nazis. As well, Hydra is a tad generic to command in a gaming space with tons of nameless goons.

6 ⛎🌳 Want: Apocalypse

Apocalypse

Born in Ancient Egypt, Apocalypse is described as one of the first mutants to set foot on Earth. When he was young, Apocalypse was forced to learn that only the strong survive. He adopts Celestiaꦫl technology that makes him the strongest person alive.

Apocalypse is an ideal character to be added to Marvel Villainous. His Horsemen can be the allies of his deck conquering other players' realms in the name of their master. One of the X-Men's biggest villains needs to be in෴ the gamꩵe.
