Firaxis has revealed the first look at gameplay for Marvel’s Midnight Suns — a new tactical RPG from the developers of XCOM. In the footage, the team showed new card-based abilities and intense superh⭕ero combat.

As expected, Midnight Suns will have an isometric perspective on the battlefield with cinematic camera angles during eye-catching battle moves. Earlier the devs revealed that despite its turn-based style of combat, the upcoming g💫ame won’t 🔜share any familiar mechanics with the last XCOM entries. In♈ many ways, it has become possible because of a new card-based combat system. Another thing to remember is that every character in your squad is an iconic superhero, who never misses their attack.

Basically, the combat𒈔 in Midnight Suns works like this: you pick three heroes for your squad and then deal with a random selection of hero abilities like a hand of cards. The available cards w𒈔ill offer a vast array of tactical choices, rewarding you for clever thinking, utilization of the environment, and combining special attacks of everyone in the squad. Just like the XCOM games, the destructible surroundings will play a major role in your battle efficiency.
