168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a♔n exhilarating mix of genres a🦋nd mechanics that will likely have a grip on fans for dozens of hours and be a memorable enough experience that you’ll think of it long after the credits have rolled.

With its combat being a heady mix of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:XCOM and Slay the Spire and its sim management being reminiscent of Persona, all wrapp🐼ed up in a superhero power fantasy full of familiar faces, it’s almost enough to make you overlook the game’s flaws. Almost. While the game is fun, a few important (and less important) things hold Midnight Suns back from being perfect. Here are some ways that the game could bridge that gap.

7 Optimizꩲe The Game

A glitched Sparring Complete Screen and Limbo, a section that stutters immensely

Let’s get this out of the way: Midnight Suns is pretty fun, but it also runs like a hot m♛ess, and sometimes, it doesn&rs☂quo;t run at all. The game is optimized so poorly that even top-of-the-line systems reportedly have a hard time running it.

This manifests in a number of ways, all of which range from irritating to game-breaking. The load times are long; the game stutters 𒉰both in fights and sometimes in the overworld– especially with some of the flashier attacks and whenever you have to travel through Limbo (usually on story missions). There are also graphical glitches, and the crashes, both the frozen game and straight-to-desktop varieties, are even more serious.

The thing is, as good as the game looks, it’s not so graphically impressive that it would warrant such janky behavior, especially to high-end and modern systems. The Denuvo DRM the game comes with has been accused of being the cause, and if that’s the case, they hopefully ditch it soon since it’s pretty unpopular already. Until then, we’ll have to play the game on Medium settings an🐭d hope for the best.

6 🐻 Let The Hunter Date

Hunter and Magik sharing a moment after Magik lost her cool

While Midnight Suns has some of the best-cultivated ꦛfriendships in gaming this side of the Mass Effect series, it would have also been nice if there were romantic options for our protagonist. Firaxis and 2K Games were probably against i♋t because of how iconic Marvel heroes are, and romantically entangling players with them would open a whole can of worms that they didn’t (or weren’t allowed to) deal with.

Still, they could have included some new characters to potentially date or allow you to romance the lesser-known Marvel characters. It wouldn’t even have to be in-your-face obvious with kissing and late-night rendezvous. Looks from across the room, long conversations, in-jokes, and self-sacrificing behavior in combat would work just as well. After all, a good slow burn is massively underrated. Well, at least 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:some of your teammates find some love.

5 ✨ Add Cloud Saves

Marvel's Midnight Suns Steam features, notably lacking is cloud saves

For some reason, Midnight Suns doesn’t have cloud saves on Steam, a feature so ubiquitou🐈s that its inclusion is pretty much a given in almost every g🔴ame, especially if it’s a triple-A title.

Though it’s a common, often under-appreciated feature, it’s a pretty important one. A lack of a cloud save means that if you lose access to whatever PC you’re playing it on, that’s it; your 40-hour file is kaput. Not to mention that if you have a Steam Deck, you can’t just pick up and play from where you left off on the PC, and if you want 🐭to take your Midnight Suns fix on the go, you pretty much have to start a new game.

4 Ax The Microtransactions 𝓀

No one likes microtransactions. At beꩲst, they’re a necessary evil that the games 🧔industry and gamers have to contend with, and at worst, they’re more needless corporate exploitation of the fanbase.

As it stands, putting most of the costumes behind a paywall is on the less deplorable end of the spectrum, but Firaxis and 2K missed a solid opportunity by not making the extra outf🎀its rewards for extra-difficult character-specific challenges or milestones with those characters. Unfortunately, money talks, and once a price has been put on something, it’s rare that it ever reverts back to free.

The upcoming DLC is also another issue. While paying for new characters is fine, it’s not likely that the four characters and whatever they come packed with are going to live up to the $50 ♐price tag.

3 More Variety In Combat Dialogue ♉

Spider-Man in the T.H.R.E.A.T. Room

Given the source material, it’s not surprising that o൲ur heroes get quippy when the fists (beams, blades, whirlwinds, etc.) start flying, but after a while, it gets kind of repetitive since there aren&♏rsquo;t that many different lines for combat.

While it might noꦦt be readily apparent in normal three-man squad fights, since it’s different heroes speaking, it becomes 🍎painfully obvious in situations like the T.H.R.E.A.T. room where it’s one hero slinging one-liners constantly.

While the best option is to give all the heroes new and more varied combat dialogues, that might be a big ask. A cheaper option would be, adding a slider that changes how often heroes quip, perhaps per hero, since not everyone is a motormouth like Spider-Man or Deadpool. Also, mixing in battle cries or grunts of effort instead of constant dialog🍃ue would not only vary the audio space but add more depth to each character.

2 🐎 Allow More Character Relationship Gameplay 🍌

When it comes to character relationships, Midnight Suns is closer to the Persona model than it is to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Fire Emblem one, which is to say that relationships are very You-centric. It’s a solid basis for a fantasy, and is a great way to show just how important the player character is. After all, who wouldn’t want to be someone that a big, superhuman hunk like Captain America can 💙rely on for emotional supp𓃲ort?

Still, it would have been cool to set up interactions between the other characters and see how they would develop, especially with characters like Magik and Spider-Man, who have very different personalities. ꦑThe closest thing we get to interpersonal storytelling where you’re not the center of it is Nico’s party for Ilyana, ♕which doesn’t develop their relationship in any meaningful way since you’re put in the spotlight for the finale of that plotline.

1 Add A Deeper, More Consequent♐ial Management Mode

C.E.N.T.R.A.L. - where you go to assign Hero Ops for extra rewards

The game is🦄n’t meant to be the deep, tactical, and sometimes punishing game like the XCOM series and according to Firaxis, this was on purpose to preserve the superhero power fantasy and prevent the player from being bogged down with the details. While they were successful on that front, they could have added enough strategic depth and consequences to satisfy the armchair generals without jeopardizing the superheroics.

While Firaxis is correct that they shouldn’t have gone full XCOM, they could have given the game more weighty choices, resource management, and time management so that it’s closer to the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:strategically lighter but s𝔍ti♐ll engaging XCO🐈M: Chimera Squad without sacrificing the superhero feel.

If the devs don’t do it, the fans probably will, s꧋o who knows how long until we have a Midnight Suns - The Long War mod to take on?
