How To Beat Mister Negative
This won't be an easy fight, but relative to some of the other bosses in Spider-Man 2? We found it less challenging, and we reckon you may feel similarly. In fact, the first phase against Martin is pretty much yours to lose so long as you can get out of the way of the bulk of his predictably horizontal-or-vertical slashes, none of which are loosed at such speed as to be unavoidable. Sure, he will vault toward Miles at a fast clip, but he pauses for about a second in build-up beforehand, meaning you can simply... move.
Martin himself, while surely capable of taking far more hits than your average grunt, still reacts quite similarly to combos and special techniques at this stage. In other words, whenever you can, launch pretty much any attack you like on him, and it should work in your favor.
Once the big demon arrives on the scene for a sec, an energy field surrounds Martin. You won't be able to use your fancier attacks for about 30 seconds, during which time you'll want to focus on evading the twisters and slashes coming Miles' way. Once this has passed, zap him good to break through the barrier.
At this point, try to corner Martin against a wall if at all possible. We'll emphasize again - he tends to take hits about as well as any thug, meaning you can chain him quite a bit before he recomposes himself. We carved off almost his entire health bar in this fashion. You'll need to repeat this process a couple more times.
Toward the end, thi🐠ngs will get surreal. Beat through the hordes of foes, keeping the chase going until the (very good) sequence concludes.
