A trailer posted to its Nexus Mods page shows just how big of a difference ALOV can make compared to vanilla Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Every video looks clearer, animations appear smoother, and in some cases, previously invisible textures are revealed.
"While BioWare claimed to have upscaled/rerendered the pre-rendered cutscenes to get them to 4K resolution, in most cases this is a white lie at best," Audemus explains. "That's where ALOV comes in. Our project uses a far more aggressive and carefully considered upscaling approach. Every single shot of every single video has been analyzed and upscaled with individual settings that produce the best possible result."
The results speak for themselves. ALOV creates a far better cinematic experience than vanilla Legendary Edition, but it does come at a slight cost. ℱWhile the original game had 16GB of video files, ALO⛎V adds 7GB more to your Legendary Edition storage requirements.
