During the events of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mass Effect, Cerberus can be found on the fringes of both space, and morality. Conducting science both life-saving and death-bringing, this paramilitary organisation played a key part in both the defeat of the Collectors and the bringing of the Reapers into the Milky Way galaxy.RELATED: Mass Effect Legendꦡary Edition's Easier Difficulty Allows Grandad To Have "Most Fun He's Had ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚIn Decades" However, their actions toward gaining power for humanity have been con🦩fusing, to say 💜the least, and their rapid changes throughout the conflict against the reapers lead to as many questions as answers.

10 They Assassinated Two World Leaders And The Pope...So💝mehow?

Mass Effect 3 London
London, during the events of Mass Effect 3

While the values and beliefs of humanity have changed in the two hundred years between our present and Mass Effect’s fictional future, some things still clearly hold true: Christianity is still a꧟n important faith, and countries such as China and the United States are still major players in human, or at least Earth-born, life.

Within seven short years, Cerberus committed four high-profile assassinations including: Pope Clement XVI, the Chinese Premier Ying Xiong, and United North American States P🍸resident Enrique Aguilar. Alongside that, Terra Firma party candidate Claude Menneau was also quietly removed. The fact that this group managed to survive when such high-profile attacks would have led to major conflicts a century beforehand is mind-boggling.

9 🧔 What Purpose Did Studying Thresher Maws Actually Serve?

Urdnot Wrex ME1

While Cerberus is well-known for less than ethical studies, they usually try and keep these studies somewhat clandestine. Not with Akuze, however, where they dropped a Thresher Maw on the planet near a new Human colony, simply to see what it would🧜 do.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:With t🐈he rich history of Thresher Maws, it is a shame that Cerberus thought only to set them on humans, but other than the slaughter on Akuze, and the dܫestructi♓on of marines led by Admiral Kahoku on the planet of Edolus, this seems to have had no other purpose in the long term for Cerberus.

8 🥂 Why Is Cerberus So ♑Situationally Incompetent?

A glowing green face made up of visual computer data, with glowing white eyes and an emotionless face.

For an organisation full of incredibly competent researchers, their research is frequently conducted poorly. It’s strange that on one hand, the Lazarus project is so successful, when projects like Overlord and the biotic project that created Jack, went so badly. There seems tไo be no middle ground when it comes to the outcome of a Cerberus project.

Outside of regenerating Commander Shepard, most Cerberus plans seem to follow th🎃e supervillainous trope of being wholeheartedly useless, leading to scientific or technological actions that do far more harm to the organisation than good.

7 𒆙 Cerberu🦹s Involvement With The Normandy SR-1 Development

The Normandy SR-1, partially built under the encouragement of Cerberus and destroyed by the Collectors.

Throughout the events of Mass Effect 2, the regenerated Commander 🍌Shepard com🅘mands the Normandy SR-2, a larger and more advanced version of the original Normandy, destroyed at the hands of the Collectors two years beforehand. With this information being confidential information, it is understandably concerning.

What is more concerning to Shepard ♈and Alliance security as a whole is th𒅌e information EDI provides when Shepard finally gets through to her. Cerberus was responsible for encouraging the development of the Normandy SR-1 in the first place. It seems unusual that Cerberus can both slip covertly through the fingers of the Alliance and turian governments yet remain so useless in other spaces.

6 Where Did All The Cerberus Financiers Go & Did They Face🅷 𝓀Justice?

Like any shady organisation, financiers are a key part of Cerberus’ day-to-day functioning. These financiers, often wealthy sympathisers within the Alliance military, or front companies with ties to political frameworks, were coordinated through hidden messages in extranet broadcasts, ensuring that Cerberus was always operating at full capacity. Once again, Cerberus’ mere existence showed💮 that those with unchecked bureaucratic power were the lurking danger.

As the Alliance ramped up defences against Cerberus during the fight against the Collect♋ors and the Reapers, the fate of those responsible for Cerberus’ financial strength remains unknown. We never discover who they are, wh🃏ether they die at the hands of the Reapers, or whether any authority could - or more accurately, would - find them.

5 ไ Why Did Cerberus Allow Henry Lawson To Rejoin꧒?

Henry Lawson holding Oriana Lawson hostage.
Henry Lawson, a Cerberus financier, holding his daughter Oriana hostage.

A long-term supporter of Cerberus, Henry Lawson reneged on his support from the group once his cloned, genetically “perfect” daughter Miranda fled to them for protection. Over many years, Henry caused troub💖le for Miranda, and therefore Cerberus, in his hunts for his second daughter Oriana, and even though trouble could be seen on the horizon, Cerberus immediately took him back under their wing once Miranda defected.

It isn’t difficult to work out that Henry Lawson would stir trouble through his hunting for Oriana or Miranda, which would likely lead to intervention by Commander Shepard. Alongside that, when Shepard intervenes, it usually goes their way, and the loss o🔜f a major facility through Henry Lawson’s actions should have been something Cerberus should avoid.

4 Why Didn’t Project Lazarus Care About Th♏e Lost Shepard Clo𒁃ne?

Shepard Clone Fight

Originally a tool to help recreate limbs and organs for the Lazarus Project, the Cloned Shepard was revived by Maya Brooks in order to take down Shepard in the final moments of the Reaper war and take its place. After escaping with it from the Lazarus Station,🔴 Maya managed to avo꧂id Cerberus detection for many months.

With Cerberus ordering the termination of the clone before Maya escaped with it𝔉, the fact she managed to get away with her cloned cargo is both impress𓆏ive and shows the holes in this covert organisation once more. Repeated attacks on the Lazarus station and the loss of a cloned asset don’t make Cerberus seem at all reliable.

3 𒈔 How Did Cerberus Transform From A Splinter Cells To A Full-blown Army?

Cerberus Soldiers attacking SurKesh
A group of soldiers indoctrinated by Cerberus attacking the Salarian homeworld of Sur'Kesh.

The shape of Cerberus changed repeatedly over the course of the Mass Effect Trilogy. Initially imagined as a rogue section of Alliance Military within Mass Effect 1, its sequel displayed a completely different beast - a selection of covert cells, each dedicated to different areas, all under the control of The Illusive Man. Within six month🐈s of that, however, Cerberus deploys a paramilitary army able to disable the Citadel and take on Shepard on all fronts.

How did this happen? Even with the colonist indoctrination program within Sanctuary on Horizon, it was never made clear that there were enough Cerberus soldiers t🃏o corral, indoctrinate, train, and send out at that short notic🎃e, especially while on the back foot with the Reapers and Alliance.

2 When did The Illusive Man Become Indoctrinated? ꦰ

The Illusive Man

The Illusive Man transforms over the course of the two games he takes part in and does so rapidly. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:From a cunning, but unforg🐽ivable individual, mostly in control of his Cerberus cells and able to use Shepard and their crew to stop the Collectors, he rapidly falls into Indoctrination much like Saren before him, attacking outright rather than using covert operations, easily falling for the logic of the reaper’s arguments of control and believing that control rather tꦬhan destruction is a greater option.

When his indoctrination occurred is still a mystery. Did thꦿis happen before the events of Mass Effect 2, and were we working for a somewhat indoctrinated Reaper the whole time? Did it happen after we left, and he corralled all remaining Reaper technology from the C🍨ollector base? Was it while he built the Sanctuary base on Horizon? How deep does this indoctrination rabbit-hole go?

1 ♊ Why Did Shepard Have No Choice But To Side With Cerberus? 𒈔

Shepard's Squad during Mass Effect 2
An almost-full roster of Shepard's squad during the events of Mass Effect 2.

After their revival, Shepard is given a “choice”: leave, do what they wish in order to combat the Collectors, or side with Cerberus and use their resources and t✤ools. After prior events, Shepard, and the player, are likely distrustful of Cerberus and their goals. However, it’s not really a choice: whatever happens, Shepard uses Cerberus resources to defeat the Collectors.

But, why? The Council might not believe them, aꦚnd the Alliance may be unable to help, but that didn’t stop them with Saren and Sovereign beforehand. The other option of doing it themselves is tried and tested, and forcing an alliance with a villainous organisation arguably makes Shepard complicit in their actions either way, even if Shepard works against their goals.
