The Keepers operate a rather unique place in universe. While the series is praised for its awe-inspirin♑g worldbuilding and variety of alien races, a huge part of that charm comes from the detailed lore that binds them all together. It seems💝 that just about everything that pops up during the three games has an extensive backstory, with insights into the culture and random specifics of even minor species detailed in the game's codex.

But it's been long theorized that they're not bred by conventional standards. Instead, many believe that they're grown somewhere deep within the inaccessible core of the Citadel.

They don't seem to share much in common with the vibrant array of advanced civilizations and species that frequent their deep-space station at first. But the Keepers do exhibit some curious habits that an𒁏droids shouldn't conventionally have. In addition to their regular repair and maintenance driven-lifestyles, they've also been known to carry out rat🍬her bizarre tasks like rearranging offices and changing the architectural layout of areas.
There appears to be no logical benefit to doing any of these things. Devoting time to seemingly aesthetic tasks seems to conflict with the widely held beliefs that the Keepers operate entirely on instinct. Perhaps 🐽the Keepers are more aware than other species give them credit for, though. It's even theorized that they communicate with each other telepathically using their backpack antennae to interact with the Citadel itself.

Much of the Keepers' interactions w𒊎ith previous species escape modern knowledge, but they are given a rather negative reputation. Though they may not seem to miss the Protheans, they appeared to be rejuvenated by the arrival of the Asari in 580 BCE.
While the books can usually be ex♛pected to offer fascinating insights into Mass Effect lore, they hardly mention the Kꦬeepers at all. However, they do describe how they acted as servants would upon the sudden 🍸return of their masters. It's said they rushed about doing everything within the power to help the Asari learn how the Citidel operated.
4 ♏ K🐬ey To The Reaper Genocides
Although they were first thought to be created by the Protheans, Shepard a▨nd co. later realize that they massively predate them and actually owe their existence to the enemies of all intelligent organic life: the Reapers. Their unassuming nature, however, is what makes the Keepers work perfectly as sleeper agents.
The Keepers originated as puppets for the antagonistic machine race. First, they help settle in the leading authorities of several species into one place and then help usher in their destruction. At the Reaper Vangu🌼ard's signal, the Keepers activate a secret relay to dark space where the rest of the Reapers lie waiting. Thus they enable galactic genocide.
The Salarian scientist Chorban, who tasked you with scanning the Keepers, is the only one outside of Prothean contact who figures this secret out. However, this information comes too late to be considered rev🌼elatory.
3 The Protheans Changed Them 🌠
Long ago, the Protheans did catch on♌to this fact, too, and made huge efforts to resolve it. Though it was too late to save them from extinction, they managed to alter the signal emitted by the Citidel so that the Keepers would be unaffected by it. In doing so, they effectively freed every Keeper from Reaper control.
In the 50,000 years since this occurrence, the species has evolved to respond only to the Citadel and became useless to Sovereign. It's suggested that Sovereign even 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:planned to replace with them the Geth in the next cycle. Saren also later blows some up, showing how they🧔 had come t🐠o be seen as dispensable.

The mystery that surrounds Keeper 20 and its peculiar surveillance by the Shadow Broker is a 💮big one. Players discover this when boarding the Shadower Broker Base and access the Video Archives terminal. It contains records of everyone that the Shadow Broker had been observing throughout the galaxy including Keeper 20.
In the videos, Keeper 20 is seen walking past a dead Blood Pack Krogan before later disposing of one of a spycam and eventually ending up trapped in an access shaft. This string of events led to theories that the Keepers are actually capable of lethal measures and advanced cognitive abilities. However, it's most likely a joke referencing a bug from the early Keeper-scanning mission. One can bug outside of the map. This was such a problem that it ended up making it into the list of chan꧒ges that the Mass Effect: Legendary remaster൩ made with the🐽 scanning requireme🐼nt cut down to just 20 in this release.
