10 Feros - Mass Effect꧅ 1

Mass Effect overhead view of Zhu's Hope on Feros

Zhu's Hope serves as your base of operations on the colonized world of Feros. The Exogeni Corporation has set up shop on this dusty planet to explore its legendary Prothean ruins. Feros is usually one of the first stops on your mission to discover the truth about Saren and the Reapers and also presents the opportunity to speak with the Thorian.

Once you have resolved your mission and learned of the Conduit, you face 𒉰one of the many choices along your journey as the fate of the Asari, Shiala, and the colony rests on your shoulders. This choice will have consequences for later games as well, a🐻s Shiala will reappear in both entries to further aid in the fight against the Reapers.

9 🐼 Rannoch - Mass Effe🀅ct 3

Mass Effect 3: A Reaper on the planet Rannoch.

The former Quarian homeworld is now a barren, arid wasteland unrecognizable as the "walled garden" it was once hailed to be. Tali is required for this planet, which shouldn't be a problem since she frequently finds herself among the best companions to use throughout the g൲ame.

Now home to a Reaper base, the planet formerly teeming with Quarians and native wildlife has been overrun by synthetic invaders: the Geth. Rannoch offers players a glimpse into their bleak futures if the Reapers are not stopped, as they threaten to turn all planets into their p💎ersonal resource mines.

8 ♊ 💎 Earth - Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3: Earth is invaded and destroyed by Reapers.

Commander Shepard's home in the Sol system plays host to the final encounter with the Reapers and ushers in one of the most polarizing endings in modern video game history. The entire series leads to this🐬 ultimate conflict with the race of creatures that have decimated planets and stolen friends fro𓃲m Shepard along the way.

Earth offers a great deal of buildup followed by several cinematic moments as the final mission progresses through a dramatic hail of bullets and grenades. Take your time to soak in the last moments with your squad here and reflect on the journey that brought you to this clima🐷ctic moment. Enjoy the last reprieve, because the ending is going to be a bumpy ride.

7 Tuchanka ജ- Mass Effect 2 & 3

Mass Effect 2 Tuchanka Krogans

The infamous Krogan homew🃏orld is perhaps one of the most frequently mentioned planets as bits of context about the Genophage are revealed in preparation for your eventual trip here. The planet itself is almost completely uninhabitable, scarred by bombing craters, disease, and deadly temperatures, leaving it in a nuclear winter.

Until this point, Krogans seem like a warrior race that got the short end of the post-war stick, but once you learn how debilitating and deadly the results of the Genophage are, you can't help but reconsider everything you have been told about the Krogans. Tuchanka's appearances in the series offer several significant, heart-wrenching experiences, as fans of Mordin will be sure to tell you.

6 Noveria - M♋ass Effect 1 & 3

Mass Effect Noveria Winter Base

The majestic, wintry world of Noveria is perhaps best remembered for its Mass Effect 1 appearance as it offers a pivotal encounter with Matriarch Benezia, whom you discover has quite a close relationship with your squadmate, Liara T'Soni. The planet is a quiet, snowy safe haven for those who don't wish to be found.

En route to your meeting with Matriarch Benezia, you will also encounter several insect-like creatures: the Rachni. Your choice to spare or slay their queen will follow Shepard for a long time, as you receive a small update in Mass Effect 2 and can even recruit the Rachni to fight the Reapers in Mass Effect 3 if you were gracious enough to save them from extinction.

5 Sur'Kesh - Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 Sur'Kesh waterfalls and mountains with a glittering sun in the background.

A companion planet to the events on Tuchanka, Sur'Kesh lays claim to the final resting place of the Genophage, as Shepard must help the Krogan eradicate this plague on their history. Shepard and their Krogan companion, Grunt, also encounter one of the Commander's old companions here - Udrnot Wrex - if he survived the events of your Mass Effect 1 playthrough.

Sur'Kesh is an excellent meeting place where the history of the Genophage finally boils over into tangible actions as Shepard can finally right the wrongs that have long plagued his now-friends. This mission even offers a rare perspective from a female Krogan named Eve, who is one of the few of her kind remaining due to the devastating ef𝔍fect of the Gen𝔉ophage.

4 ෴ Ilos - Mass Effect 1

Mass Effect Ilos: The Conduit activates in a burst of light.

Ilos was once a lush, forest world dotted with marvelous cities during the golden age of the mysterious extinct race known a𝄹s the Protheans. However, Ilos' surface has since been devastated and left in ruins as wildfires rage across the land surrounding an ancient technological marvel: The Conduit.

Ilos also gives Shepard the incredibly rare opportunity to converse with Vigil, a Prothean artificial intelligence who has been reawakened by Shepard's actions. This is one of Shepard's few opportunities to learn about the Prothean race until the crew eventually meets Javik, the last of the Protheans in Mass Effect 3.

3 ꦏ Virmire - Mass Effect 1

Mass Effect Virmire A body of water flows underneath a metal bridge.

Perhaps the most memorable planet in Mass Effect 1, Virmire is a beautiful, blooming world spotted with sparkling bodies of water and verdant, rocky mountainsides. However, this gorgeous planet also houses a base for Sareဣn, the ♎main antagonist of the first game.

The climax of this planet presents players with the first major life-or-death decisio♑n between saving Ashley or Kaidan, following an emotional fight with Saren. You are left to ponder your gut-wrenching choice as you make your way to save the squadmate of your choosing, giving Shepard a first taste of the brutality of war.

2 ꦅ Illium - Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 Illium city views as the sun sets.

Though not officially an Asari planet, this beautiful, Asari-run world is a youthful metropolis where almost everything is legal, save for murder. Illium is a business-focused planet with the glitz and glamour to go along with it. While Shepard won't have time to partake in the many indulgences of this world, there will be time to meet new companions.

Both Thane and Samara can be found on Illium, the former of which can be located with the help of Shepard's old companion, Liara. After Shepard follows Liara's lead, you will eventually meet the assassin, Thane, who is one▨ of the most fascinating characters in the series. Be sure to seek him out to learn more about his past, as Thane isn't really much of a talker.

1 🔯 Omega - Mass Effect 2 & 3

Mass Effect 2 An Asari stands outside the Omega nightclub entrance.

Regarded as the Terminus System's counterpart to the Citadel, this broken, seedy world is teeming with a galaxy's worth of derelicts, drugs, and dancers just looking to leave their problems behind for a night or two. While it is technically an asteroid🔴, Omega has everything a full-sized planet could want, and several thousand crimi🌟nals it could do without.

Omega is a major hub in both of its appearance, especially in ME 2 where you can recruit Zaeed, Garrus, and Mordin - valuable and engaging companions who will appeal to veterans and new players alike. Afterlife, Omega's nightclub, will serve as a focal point in your meetings with Omega's ruler, Aria T'Loak, as you navigate the shady underbelly of Omega's political underworld.
