The universe is one of the most unique universes to ever be created in not just s, but with in general. It is filled to the brim with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:powerful characters and a variety of different alien spe🔴cies. One of t♔hose alien species is the group of spaceship faring nomads: the Quarians.

First introduced through Tali'Zorah nar Rayya in the first Mass Effect, the Quarians stand out for their enviro-suits that they wear that mask their true appearance. Quarian history, their physiology, and their approach to culture all vary wildly from hum﷽anity's. Here are 10 facts that most people may not know about them.

10 🌃 Who They Are

Rannoch, the quarian homeworld, in ME3

As previously stated, the Quarians live out their lives in isolation aboard their ships only leaving theꦺm if they must. But they were not always living as space nomads and scavengers.

Around 300 years before the first game, the Quarians created the Geth on their homeworld Rannoch. This species of robots served as manual labor for them, as well as military support. But the Geth became a true artificial intelligence (AI) wiﷺth a hive-mind of sorts. The ಌnew species eventually rebelled against the Quarians, driving them away from their homeworld. That's what made them the nomads the galaxy knows today.

9 The C🤡itadel Council Blacklisted Quarians For Creating The Geth

The Citadel Council in ME1

It was bad enough that the Qu🍸arians were driven from their home planet. But they were also blacklisted by the galactic council and lost their embassy on the Citadel. This was because research into AI is marked as illegal by the Council, but the Quarians did it anyway to create the Geth.

As a result, the Quarians were forced to hide away into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Terminus Systems which is an area outside of Citadel ⛄space and influence. It's not dissimilar to how the world globally sanctioned Germany after the first world war. But, thankfully, the Quarians don't want to conquer the galaxy; they just want their homeworld back.

8 🍸 Why They H𝐆ave Not Tried Colonization

Quarians in a city in ME3's Destroy Ending

If the Quarians struggle so much without a homeworld, then why have they not tried colonizing a new planet? Well, there are a number of reasons for this, as revealed by t168澳洲幸运5开奖网:he companion Tali in her 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:loyalty mission.

An obvious explanation is that they simply do not have the resources to even attempt colonization. But the main concern for most Quarians involves adjusting to a new planet's ecosystem. Their people had weꦐaker immune systems naturally, so leaving Rannoch only exacerbated the issue. Living in sterile ships further worsened the problem, so a new environment could have disastrous consequences for their health.

7 🍸 Other Species Strongly D💫istrust Them

A C-Sec officer looks suspiciously at LiaVael during ME2's crime in progress side quest

Due to the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:galactic politics laid down by the council, most of the other species see them as maniacal schemers and thieves. That's on top of hating the Quarians for creating the Geth. This is evident with a side quest in Mass Effect 2 in which a young Quarian woman, Lia'Vael, is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:accused of being a thief by a Volus in a side quest on the Citadel.

Even worse, after her innocence is proven by Commander Shepard, the human C-Sec ꦦofficer on the case threatens to arrest her for vagrancy. Shepard can then step in and st♚op it. The whole situation highlights the racism Quarians face on a daily basis.

6 🍬 Biblical Influences On Quarian Design

Speaking of Quarian women, there is a certain influence from the bible that can be spotted with their hoods. Most Quarians, in fact, wear some kind of hood﷽ over their enviro-suit's face shield. These hoods bear a resemblance to the hood worn by the Virgin Mary in most depictions of her.

The games' developers have st꧙ated that this came from qualities from the character Tali. She is caring, passionate, and feels a sense of duty to her fellow Quarians and inhabitants of the Milky Way.

5 The𒁃y Have Their Own Ark In Andromeda ꧃

An ark in Mass Effect Andromeda

Wi🎐th things being so tough for the Quarians in the Milky Way, it is easy to see why some would want a fresh start somewhere else. Entওer the Andromeda Initiative who even provided the Quarians with their very own ark. This ark housed their species on the trip to Andromeda.

The ark is believed to be on the way during the events of Mass Effect: Andromeda due to departing later than the rest of the initiative. In an epilogue scene, however, a scientist shows pathfinder Ryder a message from the Quarian ark that seems to be a warning pf some kind. The ark's whereabouts, unfortunately, remain unknown, but perhaps 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mass Effec𓃲t 5 will answer this question.

4 𒈔 Their Ships Are The Same Ones They Fled Rannoch In 🔯

The Migrant Fleet, as seen in ME2

Mass Effect has a number of unique ships 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:such as the Normandy SR-2 or the Asari dreadnought. The Quarians, too, have some rather unique ship designs with a rustic feel to them. 🌊There is a reason for this as Tali explains that the ships that make up the migrant fleet are the same ones in which their ancestors fled Rannoch.

The salvage that Quarians scavenge from other places is used to maintain their ships. But they are 300 yea🌳rs out of date compared to the rest of the galaxy. If the Quarians could have kept up with the other races, what might their ships look like?

3 Quarian ꦉBabies Do Not Wear Suits ✤

Shepard, with Tali and Legion, inside of the Migrant Fleet's flotilla

This is another fact about Quarian life and physiology revealed by Tali. As it turns out, Quarian babies do not wear the signature suits Quarians are known for. They are, instead, kept in a special pressurized place in which their parents can safely visit them. Think of it as a hypoallergenic, sea𓃲led chamber of some kind.

Tali also reveals that a celebration is held when a Quarian receives a suit for💮 the first time. It is seen as a sign of independence and a rite of passage for young Quarians. Thi꧃s would appear to be a tradition adopted in light of the wars with the Geth.

2 Pilgrimages Allow Young Quarians Time Away From The Fleet ﷺ

Tali meets with a turian while on her pilgrimage in ME 1

Unless a Quarian is♒ away on a mission for the admiralty board, the only time a Quarian is ever really outside of the flotilla is for their pilgrimage in their early adulthood. This serves as aꦉnother rite of passage in order to see the universe outside of their small band of ships.

A Quarian can only return if they find something truly valuable like a powerful piece of๊ technology. But they also learn the harsh realities of the universe since some fall victim to crime and slavery in some extreme cases.

1 Everything They Do Is For Their Peopl🏅e 𓆏

A group of quarians huddled together during the Freedom's Progress mission in ME2

As seen in Tali's loyalty mission, the Quarians live a very community-based lifestyle. Hard-working, clever, and methodical by nature, many Quarians do everything in pursuance of one goal: getting their home planet back. This directly contradicts the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:stere꧂otypes 🦄of selfishness and greediness that the rest of the galaxy attaches to them.

Everything they do is for the sake of the needs of the Quarian people. Since it is essentially them against the galaxy, cooperation is a must. That's why any betrayal of trust, of which Tali is accused in her loyalty mission, is taken extremely seriously🍃.
