168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mass Effect's universe introduced us to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:dozens of aliens that often fell into the humanoid category. The Elcor were unlike the rest. The𝔉y didn't have the intentional sex appeal of the Asari, nor the masked mystique of the Quarians.
On our first visit 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:to the Citadel, we encounter these slow-speaking behemoths squirreled away with the Volus in a small embassy room. Compared to most of the series's aliens, these elephant-like creatures were incredibly unique. Their enormous size and slow speech evoke some parallels to giant sloths. The Elcor's emotive prompts are also a nod to HK-47 from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Knights of the Old Republic.
8 How Did The Elcor Adapt To Life On The Citadel? 🦹
The Elcor homeworld, Dekunna, forced their species to develop slow, careful movement to avoid plummeting to their deaths. On a planet with significantly higher gravity, shorter falls can become lethal. Stronger gravity wouཧld influence a species to have denser bodies, greater strength, and much slower movement.
The problem at hand is that the Citadel's artificial gr🐟avity isn't compatible with the Elcor. It's more in line with Humans, Asari, and Turians. Elcor physiology isn't meant for lower gravity. If anything, they would need pressurized suits to maintain a semblance of comfort.
While Mass Effect fields are the go-to answer for most questions, it's beside the point. For comparison purposes, the huma🌠n body evolved with Earth's gravity. All of our bodily functions are dependent on Earth-like gravity and atmospheric conditions.
The Elcor would need to wear pressurized suits but don't wear any. That's a bit worrying. Moving from a high-pressure environment to a lower one would require decompression chambers or steady acclimation. Rapidly moving from h🍌igh to low pressure (and vice-versa) would cause explosive decompression.
7 Why Did They Travel To Spaꦛce? ꧃
In a conversation with the Elcor Ambassador Calyn in Mass Effect, he mentions how the Elcor were early into their spacefaring ventures when the Asari made💞 the first contact.
If you look at their bodies, ♌the Elcor don't exactly seem like the type of aliens capable of fine-motor function. Surprisingly, however, they have fingers and thumbs: which means they could use tools. It doesn't give us much indication of what types of tools they use.
Calyn also mentions that their species is uncomfortable with sudden changes and prefers to stay within their realms of comfort. For a species with conservative values, what encouraged them to go into space? It had to have been a herculean effor𒐪t to merely t𓆏ravel to their moon.
Pushing that aside, how would they have even gotten into space? Leaving꧃ a planet's atmosphere requires an enormous amount of force which is further amplified with gravity. Building a spaceship and acquiring the raw materials necessary would also be taxing.
6 🧸 Why Was There An Elcor Versꦍion Of Hamlet?
The Elcor are not known for emotionally expressive speech. It seems impractical to have a play showcꦉasing their monotony, although it does make for a good joke.
However, let's treat this seriously for a moment. Hamlet is a notoriously difficult play that challenges eve🅘n the best of actors. Hamlet, thℱe character, requires an actor to live like the character. Hamlet is an emotionally complex role that has to be believable.
Emotional cues, nuances, and subtext are something the Elcor aren't necessarily capable of. When you have to indicate an emotion every ti🐓me you respond, you strip away from the performance. And since the Elcor are slow speakers, the play could end up taking days to get through.
5 🐟 😼 How Do They Move?
Despite popping up throughout the main tri🅺logy, you may not have noticed that the Elcor move. No, seriously, it's true!
Without looking it up, do you know how an Elcor moves? Since they rest with their hands, they'd have to move like a gorilla? M𓄧aybe since they look like elephants, they share a similar gait?
If you guessed gorillas, you're correct. If you don't believe it, ꦇopen ꦗup Mass Effect 2 right now. You'll have to be in the Presidium to spot one in action.
4 ൩ ✨ What Does Their Planet Look Like?
In Mas෴s Effect 3, there's a side mission an Elcor ambassador has for Shepard. They want you to go to their home planet and help evacuate the Elcor. Completing the quest gives you War Assets from the Elcor military.
Unfortunately, it's a simple probe mission, so 👍we miss out on learning more about their culture. It's a missed opportunity that could've expanded the Elcor's lore. As tedious as the planet ex✅ploration missions were in Mass Effect, they were fun and made the galaxy feel bigger.
Luckily Codex entries exꦕist, but they only describe a small amount of information. Dekuuna is a flat grassland without mountains due to its gravity.
3 Who Are They At War With? ꦰ
In the same mission dialogue for "Dekuuna: Elcor Extraction," the ambassador✱ mentions how the Elcor's enemies refer to them as tanks due to the cannons strapped to their backs. Outside of the Reapers, what species has a problem with the Elcor? The Elcor are the gentle giants of the universe, as 🍃long as you discount the personal artillery cannons.
It's a safe assumption that the Elcor weren't 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:engaged in warfare un✤til long after the Asari made contact. Their nomad lifestyle and conservative predisposition would make conflicts uncommon. Although their weapons are VI-assisted, it would be a safe bet to sไuggest that VI technology was one of the few things the Asari introduced.
What ki♓nds of political and social conflicts occur in the Elcor's realm of the galaxy? Maybe they aren't so peaceful and tolerant as we were led to believe.
2 ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ What Contributions Did The Elcor Make To Get An Embassy?
Every species has to make some notable contribution to be granted an embassy. The Elcor's contributions were never mentioned throughout the story nor 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:in background details. Considering the Elcor are nomadic people who spend centuries pondering questions and progres𓃲sion, perhaps the Elcor offered insightful advice to The Council.
To be fair, the contribution required for admittance isn't further explained. Considering the Elcor were able tꦫo create spaceships, they must've found an efficient means to es🧔cape their planet's gravity. They also must've found a way to overcome their planet's gravity while mining.
Let's assume for a moment that their baseline gravity is similar to the bottom of our oceans. Mining would a near impos꧑sibility as the atmospheric pressure would become potentially lethal at 500 feet and below. Unless o🐷res were scattered throughout the surface of their planet, there are many questions without any answers.
1 𓄧 How Do The Elcor Talk? 🎐
The Elcor𓆉 don't simply vocalize when commun🐻icating with one another. Emotion and nuance are understood through pheromones, body language, and scent. Elcor communication is sensory-rich, which makes it nearly impossible to overcome for species not as fortunate.
Their gill-like mouths offer no clarity either. Strangely enough, those gills are lips. Your lips help you produce "labial" sounds "p," "v," "m," and so on. If you were to have several more lips, t🦩hose types of sounds become could become less pronounced and harder to understand.
Aside from that, would they e🎐ven be able to talk coherently with mouths like that? Alie💛n biology is always a complicated nightmare because it ends up being a lot of guesswork. Drawing parallels from similar creatures can only go so far.
