Before, and during, the events of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mass Effect, the Special Tactics and Reconnaissance agents, otherwise known as Spectres, act as the judge, jury and executioner for the Citade🍸l Council. A specialised unit dedicated to preserving the stability, and often the status quo, of galactic politics, they operate with little to no accountability, acting in whatever means they feel necessary to complete their missions.
The Spectres have a long hꦿistory, and although their actions over their n꧃early 1,500-year history are well-documented across the Citadel’s Extranet, only a handful are known by name.
10 Beelo Gurji 💟 ꦑ
The first Spectre, Beelo Gurji, was a Sa♎larian just like Mordin Solus above, and former member of the Special Tasks Group. As part of the skilled pseudo-military group, Gurji was accusღed of flushing out a target using innocent civilians as bait.
Rather than punishing this individual for putting lives at risk, the Citadel Council at the time released him from incarceration instead. Then they offered him the chance to become a glorified, totally unaccountable space-cop by establishing the Spectres in the first place. It's one more reminder that, in the Mass Effect universe, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the true enemy is bureaucracy.
9 𒁃 Lonar Maerun
Li💙ttle is known about this member of the Spectre ranks. While his species remains unknown to us, he was a Spectre prior to Shepard’s induction, so he isn’t human⛄.
His most publicised action (reported through the human-biaseಞd Cerberus Daily News) was an alleged assassination attempt on Lira Speight, the commander of the Sonax Industries’ private military. Tracking his target to the wasteland planet of Garvug, he reportedly failed in his task. However, Speight’s unrelated death on Omega months later did sa𒁃tisfy his hunt.
8 Nihlus Kryik♎ ꦛ
A legend amongst the Spectres, Nihlus came from a distinguished Turian🧜 military background. But he gained a reputation for disobedience in order to do what he believed was right. Then-Spectre Saren Arterius took an interest in the soldier, taking him under his wing and bringing him into the ranks of the Spectres.
As one of the most competent Spectre agents with a reputation for completing the most dangerous of missions, Nihilus is personally sent to escort the crew of the Normandy SR-1. The mission: to recover the Prothean beacon on Eden Prime and to evaluate his most recent Spectre nominee -- Commander Shepard. Unfortunately, his encounter with an indoctrinated Saren on the docks of Eden Prime 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:didn’t turn out well for him.
7 🍬 Saren Arterius
The longest-serving Turian Spectre as of Mass Effect 1▨, Saren was 𓃲well-known for his ruthlessness, carrying on the legacy of the first Spectre, Beelo Gurji, in doing whatever it took to get the job done. His deep-seated hatred of Humanity stemmed from having to kill his Reaper-indoctrinated brother during the First Contact War, placing the blame for his brother’s change on Humanity.
Encountering Sovereign, he formed the indoctrinated belief that the best way to survive the Reapers was to serve them. His actions twisted kindness into cruelty - reviving the Rachni and curing the Genophage only in an effort to create an arm🐬y. The actions of Commander Shepard, their squadmates, and the Normandy crew led to his eventual downfall.
6 ⛎ Commander Shepard
As the first Human Spectre, Commander Shepard had some incredib༺ly high expectations to meet. The previous candidate, David Anderson, failed his evaluation due to the inteไrference of Saren Arterius. As a result, the Council were loath to induct a human into the ranks.
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Of the m🐼any events t💙hroughout Shepard's lives, their role as a Spectre is one that the player has an active role in throughout the course of the Mass Effect franchise. Shepa♏rd is one of the few Spectres to be removed from the ranks only to be reinstated if the player pursues reinstatemenꦺt. Of course, removing Spectre made sense after Shepard's two-year vacation from life.
5 Tela Vasir ꦏ
An incredibly powerful Asari biotic, Tela Vasir spent much of her time working against Cerberus. Having thwarted slave-trading rings and high-profile theft, she ended up stopping then-Cerberus operative Maya Brooks from infiltrating the Spectre office. This led to her discovering the group’s particular ꦦinterest in Shepard.
She also moonlighted as an operative for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Shadow Broker, performing the odd dirty job in exchange for information. At the Broker’s request, she repeatedly attempted to kill Liara T’Soni, who was on the Broker’s tail at🥂 the time. These attempts only succeeded in gaining the attention of Commander Shepard and their team, who eventually finish her off.
4 🎃 ꦡ Jondum Bau
Origi꧂nally serving within the ranks of the Salarian Special Tasks Group, Jondum Bau was one of the many Spectres who took the widely-dismissed threat of the “Reapers” seriously. Bau receives information about the possibility that one or more of the Hanar diplomats could be indoctrinated.
After Shepard rescues Primarch Victus from the battlefields of Palaven’s moons, Bau reaches out to them, requesting help in his investigation in exchange for Spectre support for the Reaper war. With the help of an infiltrated Kasumi Goto, th🎃e three are able to avoid any allied casualties while stopping the indoctrinated Hanar, Zymandis, from uploading a virus that would destroy the Hanar homeworld’s defences.
3 Kaidan Alenko (Choice Dependent)
Growi🉐ng up isolated as a Human biotic, Kaidan learned the dangerous nature of his power since he acciඣdentally killed one of his Biotics teachers after the teacher threatened both himself and a friend. This led to the cover-up of the biotic training conducted by the Alliance, and Kaidan’s refusal of further biotic implants.
Working his way up the Alliance military ranks, Kaidan finds himself stationed aboard the Normandy SR-1. Should he survive the eventsꦉ on Virmire, he finds himself hunting down the collectors and discovering Shepard’s alliance with Cerberus. Surviving an attack on Mars, Councilman Udina offers Spectre status to Kaidan which he takes in the final weeks of the Reaper war.
2 Ashley Williams (Choice Dependent)
A career soldier, Ashley joined the navy immediately after high school. Noted by her superiors for her reliable instincts and combat aggression, she found herself promoted to squad leader quickly. But she was denied promotion after that. As 🌺the sole survivor of her squad after the Eden Prime attack, she is transferred to the Normandy SR-1 where, though a valuable teammate in battle, she proves prejudiced against the aliens aboard the ship.
If Ashley manages to make it through Virmire, rather than 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:everღ visibly confronting her problema🅷tic views, she carri💧es on working with the Systems Alliance, hunting down the perpetrators of the Alliance colony disappearances. After reuniting with Shepa🍸rd after the Reapers attack Earth, she is injured by Eva Coré and is offered Spectre status by Donn💎ell Udina as she recover🎀s.
1 Avitus Rix
168澳洲🙈幸运5开奖网:Mass Effect: Andromeda is a very different game and set in an entirely different galaxy. However, Spectres still find their way there as part of the Andromeda🀅 Initiative. Much like Nihlus Kryik, Avitus Rix was recruited into the ranks of the Spectres by Saren Arterius, spending fifteen years among their ranks. After the revela💝tion of Saren’s indoctrination and betrayal of the Council, Rix retired from the force only to be recruited by Macen Barro to act as the second-in-command of the Turian wing of the Andromeda Initiative.
The Ark-ship Natanus goes missing, but Avitus escapes, losing much of his memory in the crash on the planet Havarl. He becomes the de facto leader of the Turians across the planet and, when it is discovered that🅘 Barro had died, he fulfils her request to become the new Turian Pathfinder.
