The series is known for its science-fiction 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:role-playing game adventures and its creation of a deep and interesting collection of lore. No series𒀰 is complete without a set of memorable villains and sources of evil that turn the stomach of the player with thei👍r actions, both current and previous.

10 Keepers - What Is 🏅Their Deal Anyway?

citadel keepers

Now, the Keepers are a group of docile creatures that patrol and maintain t𒐪he Citadel. Readers may be wondering why they're on a list of the most evil villains in the Mass Effect trilogy. The reason for that is because they're solely responsible for opening up a relay on the Citadel and helping the Reapers invade Earth and wipe out all sentient life in the Milky Way galaxy.

They're responsible ⛎for one of the most important acts leading to the downfall and hysteria that ensues. What's worse is that no one knows just how long they've been doing it. We don't even know if they are organic, inorganic, or something else entirely. The Keepers may appear as an afterthought, but that's just what they wanted you to꧒ think.

9 Collectors - T🦋he Manipulated Husks

the collectors

Mass Effect does a great job of introducing mysteries that have tangible payoffs and surprising reveals. The Collectors are originally presented as these rare traders who exist independently and o🐼bserve from the shadows. They live on an absolutely enormous ship that hides in unreachable deep space through a specific and deadly Mass Relay.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Commander Shepard eventually learns that Collectors are merely 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:mutated Protheans, the ancient race thought to be responsible for the creation of the Citadel and mass relays. The Collectors are nothing but a tool of labor used by the Reapers. Similar to how 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Kett transform a species, the Reapers perverted the Protheans in൩to♋ military fodder.

8 The Rachni - The Creepy, But Pr🔯obably Not Evil Bug Guys

the rachni

The Rachni are one of the more interesting parts of the Mass Effect lore. They are sentient bug-like aliens who communicate using psycho-kinetic sound. Due to their insane reproduction rates and raw power, they were wiped out due to fear of them taking over the galaxy. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Krogans were the primary force behind their defeat, but sadly, their own ܫstrength in that war led t🔜o the creation of the infamous genophage.

Commander Shepard can run into one of the last Rachni queens left in the original Mass Effect and can decide if the race is too dangerous to reproduce, or if they're worthy of existence. Unfortunatel🙈y, whether or not She🥃pard spared the race permanent extinction doesn't seem to matter in the end.

7 🌃 🤪 The Geth - The Misunderstood Inorganics

geth

The Geth are scary because they happen to display an ꧙eventuality humans in real-life might have to deal with. The Quarians created the inorganic race to be used as servants and a labor force. But, as is revealed throughout ME2 and 3, the synthetic✤ race developed sentience. Some Quarians feared this while others welcomed it, but the Geth rebelled against their creators once they felt their species was in danger.

Worrying about the Geth as a player seems odd at first, but they're a threat to many things Commander Shepard cares for and relies on. They also happen to form a splintered faction that worships the Reapers like gods. Of course, the player can take them out if desired and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:still save the Geth and the Quarians (whꦺo have their own questionable actions to answer for).

6 Cerberus - The Sometimes Hel♎pful Terrorist Group

cerberus organiation

Cerberus is an organization that happens to be a hellhole of hate and supremacy -- most of the time. In many ways, they are modern-day, xenophobic and prejudiced people who belie✨ve that humans are the superior race of the Milky Way galaxy. 𒈔They back up their beliefs with a rather strong military force and the hoarding of any and all technology.

The Illusive Man, a seemingly wealthy and well-connected guy who smokes a lot, leads them. His sole objective (and thus Cereberus') is one of advancing human interests by any means necessary. Through parts of the franchise, they serve as a necessary evil used to vanquish the overall threat, but these moments fade as the organization becomes more aggressive and power-hungry. And let's not forget 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the experiments they did on t⛎heir own people.

5 ꦬ The Reapers - The Genoci🅺dal Force On A 50,000 Year Timer

the reapers

When looking at the Mass Effect series overall, it's clear to see that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Reapers are the overar𓆏ching villains of the entire trilogy. They're resp🅺onsible for the events Commander Shepard is tasked with preventing, but they feel inevitable and undefeatable once the history of them is on full display.

The reason they're a bit lower on this list despite their importance is due to the lack of an identity. Evil manifests best and comes across better in story-telling when it's a singular eﷺntity that players can focus on. However, there is something both horrifying and comforting in a big red Reaper laser being your last memory.

4 Saren Arterius - The Indoctrinated Spectre 𒅌

saren

Saren may not have been the most powerful or capable threat, but he worked as a villain because of how 𝕴relatable he was to the player. He was a long-serving and decorated member of th🌜e Spectres. It's unclear how vile of a person he was before his indoctrination, but it's likely that he wasn't too pure considering how deep of a hold Sovereign had on his Turian psyche.

Saren may have been villainous scum, but he partly the reason why players grow so attached to a Turian who values honor, loyalty, and respect in Garrus Vakarian. His 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:🍸monologue at the end of the first game reveals good intentions behind his still undeniablyﷺ villainous ways.

3 🔴 Sovereign - The Reaper Who Almost Destroyed Us

mass effect sovereign

Sovereign is interestꩵing because, despite players never facing the Reaper directly, it cultivates a true sense of evil throughout the first game. Reapers are naturally offputting in appearance to humans as they look like a cross between an alien spaceship and a spider of some sort. Curiously, however, Sovereign was designed to look more Geth-like in order to appeal to the inorganics.

By the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:end of the trilogy, it becomes clear that Sovereign was nowhere near the threat that Harbinger was, but it doesn't mean its awful actions should be overlooked. It takes a real lack of moral integrity to puppe🐟t the dead corpse of another being. Of course, do the Reapers have unique personalities, or are they like the Geth and the Borg from Star Trek?

2 Illu💞sive Man - Th🌠e Indoctrinated Humanist

illusive man

Cerberus as a collective was talked about earlier, but it's now time to focus on the villainous man in charge of it all. Most players know the Illusive Man by that very name, but his real nღame is actually Jack Harper.

From the moment players learn that he resurrects Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 2, it's clear his motives are tainted. Like most evil men, he is consumed by the idea of power yet believes that he is doing the right thing. He trie🔯s at every turn to manipulate Shepard into doing what's in the best interest of both Cerberus and him personally. Fans can read more about his origin story and what led to his xenophobic views in graphic novels.

1 🔯 Harbinger - The Original Reaper

harbinger

Harbinger is the big bad of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mass Effect franchise and happens to be the leader of the Reapers (he enemies mentioned earlier on this list)𝔍. It was the first Reaper ever to be built and is the unseen force of evil for the entirety of Commander Shepard's story. That is, if you don't also count the Starchild AI who conceived of the Reapersﷺ.

Harbinger works from the shadows but ultimately leads the Reaper invasion on Earth, t🍌hough it isn't seen until the final mission of Mass Effect 3. It also happens to be the controller of the Collectors and played a vital role in the downfall of the Leviathan💯s. Come to think of it, could they be villains, too?
