With the final installments releasing well over ten years ago, many fans have wondered if Capcom would ever release a new installment or a legacy collection like it did with Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. Now, that idea might seem to be more of a possibili♌ty.
As of today, Capcom has started to to develop Mega Man Battle Network products for the game's 20th anniversary which will happen in 2021. Products like consumer goods, clothing, action figure🎀s, and lots more are going to be developed in order to celebrate the game's birthday. As such, fans of the games are certain to appreciate the event and possibly end up purchasing something for themselves.
One important thing to note is that the recruitment call is for companies interested in Mega Man Battle Network products, and does not necessarily relate to video games. However, in 2016, Capcom did a similar recruitment call for Mega Man X's 25th anniversary which saw the release of various goods and action figures, and eventually climaxed in the launch of the Mega Man X Legacy Collection. As a result of that, something similar may very well end up happening with Mega Man Battle Network.
As previously stated, Capcom is only focusing on consumer goods and not video games for the 2021 anniversary event. Fortunately for fans, there is still more than enough time left for Capcom to consider a collection for Mega Man Battle Network. Considering when the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection was announced last year, hopefully Capcom will listen and do something special for the Mega Man Battle Network 2021 anniversary event.
