Mega Manꦰ is a series known best for consistently putting out some of the hardest platformer stages known to humankind. It teaches you the level’s mechanics early on before turning the difficulty to the extreme, making almost every death entirely your own fauꦑlt.

Not all Mega Man levels are created equal. For example, you’ll find yourself strug൲gling far more against Guts Man than Cut Man. When it comes to this series, you’re better off aiming for the more beginner-friendly stages before𓆏 tackling the really hard ones.

This list only includes the main numbered entries in the series. You won’t see any levels from the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mega Man X series or the infamously hard Mega Man & Bass.

10 Shadow Man's Stage (Mega Man 3): Hidden In The Shadows

Shadow Man's Stage from Mega Man 3

Shadow Man’s Stage seems pretty standard, but there's a catch. Every so often, a machine flies by and turns the stage completely dark. You can still see Mega Man and any nearby enemies, but the stage itself is shrouded from vision. As you can imagine, this makes platforming and lining up shots way harder than they should be, but it’s not too insurmountable of a task.

The real challenge comes from revisiting the stage in its DocRobot version, which turns the difficulty to eleven. Now most walls and ceilings are lined with instant-death spikes, and the se♛ctions where the stage turns dark are even more precarious than ev🎀er. One wrong jump, and you’ll plummet to your doom.

9 Gemini Man's Stage (Mega Man 3): Beautiful And Deadly

Gemini Man's Stage from Mega Man 3

Out of all the 8-bit environments Mega Man 3 gives you, the one from Gemini Man’s Sta🦄ge is easily one of the prettiest. Be careful not to get too distracted looking at the pixel art, however, b⛦ecause this stage doesn’t pull its punches.

Right from the start, you’ll have robots raining down flaming pillars. After that, you'll encounter 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:caves filled with egg-like blocks, which hatch into little tadpole robots when shot at. Last is a series of small platforms placed precariously above a water-filled pitꦆ. All in all, you’ll want to take your time with this level, both to appreciate the scenery and avoid making hasty mistakes.

If y🍬ou think this stage is hard enough as is, don’t even get us started on t𒈔he even harder DocRobot version.

8 Plant Man's Stage (Mega Man 6): Spring Has Sprung

Plant Man's Stage from Mega Man 6

In🌠 this stage, pollen allergies are the least of your concern. Just a few steps into the level is all it takes for enemies to start springing out from the trees. They’re fast and only show up once you🀅 get close, so you’ll have to be faster.

Get past them, and you’re treated to the stage’s real꧑ gimmick: literal springs that line most of the floor of this stage from here on out. You can jump to bounce higher, but that isn’t always a good idea since there are sometim👍es instant-death spikes above you. You’ll also need to time your jumps just right to get over several bottomless pits without getting hit by the fish that leap out of them.

7 Wily Stag👍e 4 (Mega 🔴Man 2): Tread Carefully

Wily Stage 4 from Mega Man 2

When most people talk about Wily Stage 4, it’s usually to complain about the frustrating boss at the end. What isn't discussed is just how troublesome the level leading up to it is. Not only is it packed to the brim with tough enemies and an unreasonable amount of instant-death spikes, but it also has the insidious gimmick of fake floors.

You find out about the false floors early on in a low-stakes room, but it’s not long before you see a mix of real and fake flooring over a bed of spikes. The only way to safely get past it🐈 is to use Bubble Lead to reveal the real floor, but if you’re out of ammo, your only choice is to take a leap of faith.

6 Bright Man's Stage (Mega Man 4): One Flashy Gimmick After Another

Bright Man's Stage from Mega Man 4

In this stage, you’ll have to adapt quickly to a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ton of tricky new elements. You may be tempted to kill the light bulb enemies, but doing so makes the screen go dark for several seconds, hiding the level layout. You might fall into a bottomless pit in the first room if you're not careful.

Then there are the hopping grasshopper platforms, which are your only way of traversing deadly spike pits. Better time your jumps well if you don't want to fall off. If that wasn’t enough, the end of the stage introduces platforms that swing in a U-shape as soon as you step on them. That’s a lot to keep track of.

5 Heat Man's Stage (Mega Man 2): Spicy, High-Stakes Platforming

Mega Man 2 Heatman Stage Gameplay Jumping

Heat Man’s Stage doesn’t have any majoღr new gimmicks, but what it does have is tons of instant-death pits. To traverse this system of boiling brick caves, you’ll have to carefully jump across tiny platforms, the smallest of which are only as wide as Mega Man himself.

But that’s not all. To make matters worse, tꦫhis stage is home to some very annoying enemies, particularly one that looks like a spinning blue can. They spawn endlessly and will slowly float after you until you’re pinned down. You better blast them all down before one of them pushes yo𒈔u off the ledge.

4 Ice Man's Stage (Mega Man 1): One Slip Away From Death

Ice Man's Stage from Mega Man 1

A 💯word of advice to anyone playing Mega Man 1 for the first time: do NOT play Ice Man’s Stage right away. With slippery floors, floaty water pits, and disappearing blocks, getting through this stage is a huge test of both skill and patience.

Even the most patient players can find themselves ra𝄹ging at one infamous obstacle: a massive bottomless pit with platforms that move randomly and shoot from both sides at regular intervals. Get hit once while trying to cross, and you’ll be knocked into the pit below, dying instantly. Now that’s just cold.

3 Wily Stage 1 (Mega Man 11): Kicking Things Into Second Gear 𝄹 💟

Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 11

Mega Man 11 came out of nowhere in 2018 and served up a menagerie of creative stages, each just as challenging as the games before. All of them are certainly quite hard in their own ri🤡ght, but Wily Stage 1 really lets you know that it means business.

The stage introduces you to spinning gear-bolt platforms, which are tricky to land on and constantly turning. There’s also a rusted variant that breaks under Mega Man’s weight. Throw in a slew of enemies trying to snipe you mid-jump, disappearing blocks, and a danger𒐪ous fall through a room of instant-death spikes, and you’re in for one uphill battle.

2 Quick Man's Stage (Mega Man 2): Think Fast!

Quick Man's Stage from Mega Man 2

Quick Man’s Stage may seem innocuous to a first-time Mega Man player, but don’t be tricked; 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this stage is infamous, and for very go𒁏od reason. This level possesses one of the most deadly instant-death hazard✱s in the entire series.

Repeatedly throughout thꦅe level, you’ll fall down through a 🍸series of rooms where yellow beams rapidly zoom across the screen. Get hit by any of them, and you’re toast. Memorizing where the beams come from is key to getting through these rooms with your life intact, but that’s not something the typical first-time Mega Man 2 player will be able to do.

1 🐬 Wily Stage 1 (Mega Man 8💖): "Jump, Jump! Slide, Slide!"

Wily Stage 1 from Mega Man 8

Anyone who’s played Mega Man 8 can tell you that this game’s jet-boarding sections are brutal. They’re auto-scroll sections mixed with Donkey Kong Country's mine cart levels, but with a screen that scrolls so fast that you usually jump to platforms entirely offscreen. Thankfully, there's a voice clip that plays whenever you need to jump or slide.

There are several stages throughout the game with jet-boarding sections, but the one from Wily Stage 1 is hands down the hardest. It lasts far longer than the rest, taking up roughly half of the entire level. Dying sends you all the way back, and all it takes to die here is one early jump. By the time you clear this section, you’ll never want to hear the words 'Jump' and 'Slide' ever again.
