The Melbourne E൩sports Open, first stop on IEMs' 15th season, has been postponed until 2021.
By now, you know the drill. Coronavirus claims another esports tournament. The🔯 official announcement came from ESL with the usual “we have been closely monitoring the developments in regards to the global health situation” and “after careful evaluation, we have come to🌞 a decision.” And that decision was to postpone the Melbourne Esports Open.
What was once set to take place in 2020 will now take place 🍌in 2021. The Melbourne Esports Open will be from August 21 to 22, 2021. Tickets purchased for the 2🌳020 event remain valid for 2021, but if you have no idea if you’ll be able to make it or if you’ve lost your job due to coronavirus and could really use the cash, refunds are available via Ticketek.
ESL also had news for ESL One Cologne, set to take place later in August. Since Germany has barred large gatherings, ESL One Cologne will be broadcast without an audꦬience. Details on exactly how that will work will be releas🤪ed soon, but expect a Twitch announcement soon.
Just as with Melbourne, ticket ref🔜unds are available, and those tickets will still be valid for ESL One Cologne 2021, which is se💦t for July 16-18. We certainly hope that Germany will allow large gatherings at that point, but who knows?
