There are still reviews citing the queer kiss at the end of the game being the sole reason for awarding Burning Shores a zero out of ten, though.
What makes the uproar over Aloy being a lesbian, and the word woke being thrown around so frequently that it has lost the little meaning it still had, even more ludicrous is that the kiss appears to be a choice. The player needs to actively choose to have Aloy kiss new character Seyk🌞a. That means if you really have that big of an issue with Aloy, a fictional character in a video game, being gay, you can opt for her not to kiss another woman, because𒅌 god forbid, right?
While most of you reading this will recognize Burning Shores is a fantastic next chapter in the Horizon series despite the red circle you can currently find on , the problem is some people don't know that. More casual gamers who have played Forbidden West and are on the fence about buying Burning Shores may glance at the page and base their decision on that user score. Potentially not even reading the reviews and realizing they're written by bigots who can't stand the idea of someone who isn't exactly like them being represented in a video game.
Hopefully the user score for Burning Shores continues to rise as Metacritic scrubs all of the unfair reviews from its site.
