After years of being teased with Pachinko cutscenes and a distinct lack of anything in five years, has finally announced a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater at today's PlayStation Showcase, titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Around halfway through the PlayStation Showcase, a trailer played that showed some shockingly realistic ants, crocodiles, and snakes. You might think that was leading up to some kind of Tokyo Jungle reveal, but it was actually the long-awaited announcement of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. No date was given to the remake but . It was also confirmed to be coming to Xbox as well as PS5, so it's not an exclusive like some rumours previously suggested it to be.
Interestingly, we also got to hear a little bit of the classic theme song sung by Cynthia Harrell, which suggests that she'll be involved in the project. Whether that's a re-recording or just the original version reused is yet to be seen, but it does further dispel the rumours from earlier in the year that 𒁃a new version was being recorded for the remake by Donn🐭a Burke.
To say that it's been a long road to get to this moment would be an understatement. Metal Gear Solid fans have been through the ringer with this rumour, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:which w✤as first reported by VGC back i🍰n 2021. After it was first rumoured to be a thing, several key bits of evidence started lining up, like a Metal Gear Solid artbook appear🌺ing in the Virtous Studios recruitmen🥃t video, and it෴ listing Konami as one of the partners it had worked with.
Then, more recently, it was reported that it was going to be announced as a PlayStation exclusive during a Showcase. This was then argued by another insider, who reported that it was actually going to be a multiplatform rel💛ease. That bring𝓰s us to today, where the project was finally announcedꦆ once and for all.
That doesn't seem to be the end of the Metal Gear Solid fun, though. The end of the trailer confirmed a rumour from earlier today that suggested that Konami was working on releasing a Classics Collection for Metal Gear Solid, one that collects the first three games in the series and re-releases them in HD. The final shot of the trailer confirmed this collection and revealed that it's coming sometime in Autumn later this year. Looks like there's plenty of Metal Gear excitement to go around.
