As of 2021, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is 20 years old. This legendary title in the stealth series caused quite the stir when it launched for several reasons, but 168澳洲幸运5开奖🔯网:in between all of the espionage🦄, plot twists, an♚d outrage at Snake not actually being the main character, Hideo Kojima used MGS 2 to do what he does best: put in strange but amusing details that manage to add to the game without necessarily detracting from the overall atmosphere.

10 Hideo Kojima's "Ghost"
During the prologue, you'll come to a section where you need to take photos of Metal Gear RAY. On the way to the room where it's housed is an army presentation about RAY's capabilities, with two screens. If you take a photo of the screen on the right, an outline of Kojima will appear in the photo.
Showing this photo to Otacon scares him, playing into his fear of ghosts. (He also reacts this way 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:if you snap a 🍒picture of Revolver Ocelot lurking near RAY's legs.)
9 Speci🥂al Dog Tags
Whilst playing as Raiden, there are ways you can find certain dog tags that belong to various characters from MGS 1 and 2. For example, Peter Stillman's tags can be found on Fatman's body with a couple of shakes, in a nod to Stillman's having taught Fatman about explosives.

8 Vul🐬can Raven Statue
During the prologue, you'll come into the starboard engine room of the tanker near the crew quarters. Looking ahead, there's a shadow on the wall which resembles the figure of Vulcan Raven from MGS 1, seemingly holding his minigun and waiting in ambush for you. You can even chat with Otacon about the potential fight.
However, going around the corner reveals that it's just a toy statue of Raven next to a flashlight. If you shoot the statue, it starts shooting little pellets across the room.
7 ꦉ Rotten Ra🌺tion
If you pay close attention during the prologue, you'll notice that one of the soldiers is surrounded by flies. This is because he's carrying a ration that has spoiled, and if you take it from him for yourself, the flies will also follow Snake around.
This ends up being a hindrance because the flies can give away Snake's position, but this idea of food spoiling would eventually play into MGS 3, where food in Snake's inventory can go off if left uneaten for too long.
6 𒆙 Box Fast Travel 💜
The humble ca🥂rdboard box is a favorite 🦋hiding spot for Snake, and Raiden can also use it to his advantage in MGS 2. In fact, there are five different boxes you can find, and they have other uses than just for hiding.
If you head to Big Shell's parcel room and hop on a conveyor belt whilst hiding in one, the game will send you to one of Big Shell's struts, and the box you're in will determine your destination. Effectively, you've got a fast travel system!
5 ꦡ Soldiers In Their Underwear
If you look closely at the room full of soldiers during the Metal Gear RAY presentation, you can spot one that's standing in his boxer shorts. You can snap a photo and send it to Otacon, who will have a laugh but also ask that you get pictures of RAY instead.
However, if you're playing the game for a second time and get to the same room, you'll suddenly discover that ALL of the soldiers are standing around in their boxers. Maybe it's some serious budget cuts.
4 Spotting Snake In A Box ꦇ
This moment happens after you fi🗹rst meet Peter Stillman as Raiden. As you make your way back to Strut D, Snake can be seen sneaking away in a cardboard box. If you want to have a bit of fun, you can cause him to run by getting near him, or you can shoot his box to try and destroy it (which will also 💧cause him to run away).
However, be careful to not antagonize Snake too mu🥃ch bec🌱ause he may shoot back in self-defense. He is a soldier, after all.
3 Snake Catches A Chill 🙈
This is a classic example of Kojima adding an unexpected dose of realism to a video game. The prologue takes place during a heavy rainstorm, and if you hang outside for too long, there's a chance Snake will catch a chill (especially on Extreme difficulty).
If this happens, there's a chance Snake will give away his position by sneezing. Luckily, this can be cured if you find the cold medicine at the top of the ship, or if you just keep moving (Snake only sneezes when stood still).
2 Ros♌e Refuses To Save Your Progress
When playing as Raiden, it's possible to shoot the various seagulls that fly around Big Shell. However, it's not advisable to do this as the Colonel will eventually call Raiden and ask if he enjoys abusing helpless animals, with Rose also chiming in to voice her disgust.
If you continue further, Rose will call up again to say she's breaking up with Raiden and then refuses to save your game until he apologizes, and the apology Raiden gives is made to be as degrading as possible.
1 Seeing Your Name During The End🐬ing
This is a cool little detail that occurs during Snake and Raiden's discussion in the game's final cutscene. When you first get control of Raiden near the game's beginning and use the computer to access the Soliton radar, a screen will appear that asks you to fill in details such as a codename, birthday, and nationality.
If you input your own details, they'll appear on Raiden's dog tags when he removes them during the cutscene. Raiden will also comment that he's never heard the name before.
