Deep Silver and Vertigo Games just announced a brand-new Metro at today's State of Play. It's a VR exclusive called Awakening launching in 2024 for PSVR 2, Meta Quest, and Steam.

This isn't the only FPS series to follow up its last game with a VR title. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Half-Life did🌸 the same with Alyx back in 2020 which was also a prequel.

The trailer opens with a memorial in the metro tunnels, before cutting to the player skulking on an abandoned train as an enemy lurks down the hall. We see them cock their gun, slide on a gas mask, and🌠 check their Geiger counter on their wrist.

While it looks to have a healthy dose of action, the focus appears to be on stealth and signature Metro horror, as the trailer ends with a mutant leaping right at the player. That's horrible enough on my monitor, let alone in my face.

This marks the fourth Metro game in the series and the first i🌳n five years since Exodus launched. It has big shoes to fill - the first✤ three games were critical hits, garnering scores ranging from 82 to 90.

However, Awakening isn't a sequel. The first Metro game, as the title suggests, is set in 2033, while the last game, Exodus, is set in 2035. According to Awakening's website, we're going 'back' to 2028, which isn't too far forward in our own future. A comforting thought.

Experience a new story-dri☂ven adventure built exclusively for VR that blends atmospheric exploration, stealth, and combat in the most immersive Metro experience yet. Put on our gas mask and brave the crippling radiation and deadly threats of the Metro in this chilling, supernatural story from Dmitry Glukhovsky♓.

We'll be sliding into the armless gloves of a character called Serdar, "a doctor who has to brave the mind-bending tunnels of Metro to search for his missing wife." So, whether or not Artyom survived the end of Exodus is still a mystery.

The website also confirms that, lending to it being in VR, you'll have to reload by hand and scavenge bullets yourself, making the survival elements of Metro even more immersive.

Interestingly, seriܫes author Dmitry Glukhovsky teased a new Metro game five years ago, something 4A itself would confirm to be in development a year later. However, this new title is developed by Vertigo Games, meaning there might be another Metro yet ꧅to be announced.
