One of the best parts of any metroidvania game is the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:exhilaration of explorin♑g a brand new enviꦓronment. Discovering hidden shortcuts and unexpected rewards can be addictive; luckily 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metroid Dread has plenty of delicious secrets to uncover.
ZDR’s map is full of mazes. Throughout any run of this game, Samus’ path will be obstructed by different types of breakable bl🗹ocks, uninhabitable environment🍎s, and the dreaded E.M.M.I.s. Revisiting old areas once Samus has all her abilities is a daunting task but very worthwhile, both for the collectibles and just to gawk at the impressive sprawl that is the full map of ZDR. So, power up your Speed Booster and get your Grapple Beam ready – here are ten hidden areas that you might have missed.
10 ཧ The Top Of Artaria’s Hot Ruins
As the first area that Samus explores in ZDR, Artaria is a place most players will come back to again and again. During one of Samus’ visits to this sprawling section of the map, she will be forced to race through a volcanic area at the top of the map as the deadly heat chases her and does some serious damage to the facility ꩵaround her.
At the top of this area, there is another little hidden spot, well-guarded by a Grapple Beam block, Bomb blocks, a Shutter, and some Speed Booster blocks. Don’t forget to come back here once you’ve acquired ♔all of Sa🍰mus’ numerous abilities and upgrades – there’🐎s a full Energy Tank to be collected in this h🔴idden area.
9 🧔 The Branch Off🧜 Artaria’s E.M.M.I. Zone
Live E.M.M.I. zon꧃es are not the place to flex your exploration muscles. Once you’vওe defeated each E.M.M.I. though, there are plenty of tiny secret areas with upgrades squirreled away for Samus to collect. One especially tricky hidden area is just off of an enormous chamber in the Artaria E.M.M.I. zone on the left hand side.
There’s a hidden breakable block in the wall that leads to a diagonal arm, where some Speed Booster block♛s are. All that prevents Samus from collecting a sweet, sweet Missile Upgrade.
8 Kraid’💦s Secret Lair
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Samus fights the Boss dragon Kraid relatively early in Metroid Dread – too early for her to have the suit upgrade necessary to find his secr💧et maze-lair. Once she has nabbed that Gravity Suit upgrade, Samus can finally take a swim in the lake of fire covering the floor of the area in which she fought Kraidꦦ.
Just to the rig🔯ht of where this Boss battle took place is an area hidden under the lava, full of Bombable blocks. If you can navigate this little maze successfully, there’s a Power Bomb upgrade to be snagged here as wel𝄹l.
7 Cataris’ East-side Lava 🐽Maze
The entire right side of Cataris is made up of an enomous hot lava area. This area isn’t🐈 completely hidden, but it is wholly inaccessible until Samus has some of the most advanced upgrades to her Super Suit: 🌺the Gravity Suit and the Power Bomb. Once she has those two upgrades, she can open up the path through the bottom of the area.
What first appears to be a small lava area at the bottom right is then revealed to be a massive lava 𒅌maze that connects to the top of Cataris. This is a collectible-rich area worth coming back to explore.
6 ꧂ Dairon’s Western Ice Area
This frozen zone on the left side of Dairon’s map is one of the last places Samus can explore, since she will need a powerful upgrade to withstand the cold: the Varia Suit. It’s worth returning here once she has this upgrade if you’re looking for more firepower to take on 168澳洲幸运✃5开奖网:Metroid Dread’s intense final boss, though.
On the left 🐽side of this section is a hiddenꦉ area, blocked by multiple levels of Speed Booster blocks. If you can solve the Shinespark Puzzles necessary to access this area, there’s a nice Missile Tank upgrade waiting to be collected.
5 🐻 The Hidden Ice Caves in Artaria
Just to the right of the frozen room in Artaria where Samus encounters a Chozo Soldier Boss, there are a series of hidden caves containing a powerful Missile+ Upgrade that can only be accessed by precise use of the Speed Booster ability. These Speed Boost blocks are easy to spot – what’s harder toﷺ find is a place with enough running room for Samus to charge up her Speed Boost.
The solution to this conundrum is unsurprising for a Metroid game: i♎t&ꦿrsquo;s another hidden area! Just beneath the Boss battle room is a big empty room with plenty of floor space to let Samus gear up to break some Speed Booster blocks.
4 🐷 ♑ The Secret Area At Burenia’s Center
This area manages to be hidden despite being ri൲ght smack in the middle of Burenia. It’s blocked off on one side by Enkys and Speed Booster blocks, and on the other by Pitfall Blocks, meaning this is a late-game area to explore. But it’s worth it to come back here for the collectibles, once Samus has her Ice Missiles and the Speed Booster ability.
There’s an Energy Tank Part in this that can be relatively easily collected, and a powerful Missile+ Tank upgrade at the bottom of the section. Fair warning for explorers: getting to that Missile+ Tank may be the single most challenging🐻 and complicated Shinespark Puzzle of the entire game.
3 ﷽ The High Point of Ferenia
At the highest point of Ferenia’s west side, right next to the shuttle from Ghavoran, there is a little hidden area that can only be accessed by completing a super tricky little Shinespark puzzle. Pitfall, Speed Boost, and Power Blocks stand in Samu🍸s’ way, not to mention the varied terrain.
You’ll need to backtrack, wall jump, slide, and dash through doors, all while nailing the timing of each move precisely down to the millisecond. The good news is th⛎at y🧸ou’ll be rewarded for all this with a Missile+ Tank. If you’re handy with the Speed Boost ability, and need that firepower, this is an area worth revisiting.
2 🎉 Fꦇerenia’s Hidden Ice Rink
This little hidden area lies underneath the frozen blue zone at the top of Ferenia, just underneath the elevator to Hanubia. Blocked off by Power blocks, hiddꦓen chambers, Grapple Beam blocks, and a nasty double set of inconveniently placed Speed Booster blocks, this hidden area requires navigating one of the most difficult Shinespark puzzles of the game.
If you can make it past all of that, Samus will take a quick skating holiday, shooting across a long sheet of ice in her Morph Ball form. She’ll smash through yet another set of ♍Speed Booster blocks and enter a hidden room, where you will be rewarded with a Missile Tank upgrade for your troubles.
1 The Spires At The Top Of Ghavo🍷ran
Ghavoran can be a maze to navigate, but for the most part, Samus will have to explore it thoroughly as part of the main storyline of the game. There is one tricky hidden area to get to, and it houses an 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Energy Part as reward for its discovery.
At the top of the map of Ghavoran, just left of the shuttle from Hanubia and the room where Samus fights Golzuna, there is a twin set of spires that are blocked off by a set of Speed Booster blocks. Samus will need to dro💖p to the bottom of the area to find a platform that is large enough to charge her Speed Booster, and use her Shinespark to destroy the blocks at the top of the map without being able to see them.
