Easily the biggest surprise during today's Nintendo Direct--and maybe even for all of E3--168澳洲幸运5开奖网:was the announcement of Metroid Dread. The first new 2D Metroid game in almoဣst two decades, Metroid Dread sends Samus on her most deadly mission yet where she'll face off against the impervious hunter-killer robot, EMMI.

Besides the surprise announcement and release date (October 8, btw), Metroid creator Nintendo Direct also gave some cryptic remarks as to Metroid Dread's story dᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚuring the Nintendo Tr✅eehouse gameplay livestream.

"The series has chronicled the uncanny relationship between these Metroids and the heroine Samus, but this game will mark the end to that story arc," said Sakamoto. "We're hoping fans of the ൩series will wonder 'what does ''mark an end to the story arc'' mean൲?' as they play the game."

Certainly, Sakamoto doesn't mean that Nintendo intends to end the Metroid franchise as we know it with Dread, but perhaps he instead means the end of the Metroid Fusion story that began back in 2002 on the Gameboy Advance. Dread takes place immediately following the events of Fusion, where a deadly virus infected a space station that was orbiting planet SR388, the Metroid homeworld. Samus crashes the space sta🎃tion into SR388 after discovering that the Galactic Federation had been cloning Metroids in secret.

In Metroid💞 Dread, Samus is sent to the planet ZDR to investigate a report that the X Virus was still alive, only to be attacked by the indestructible EMMI as soon as she arrives. Is Samus getting set up by the Galactic Federation for destroying the secret 🧔Metroid cloning facility?

We'll find out when Metroid Dread arrives on the Nintendo Switch on October 8. Pre-orders for the game's coll𝓡ector's editi༺on are available now with a collection of 🐻Metroid art cards, an artbook, and a cool Steelbook🍰 case.
