In a world where just about every popular video game series is receiving either a television show or a movie adaptation, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that we'll see a Metroid movie in the future. If and when that does happen, Captain Marvel star 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Brie Larson really wants to play the role of Samus.
The original Metroid became a pop culture phenomenon back in the late 80s largely for revealing at the very end that its badass missile-launching bounty hunter hero was a woman. Ever since, Samus has continued to be both a Nintendo icon and a symbol of ꦬfeminism, and it sounds like Larson is one of her biggest fan✨s.
The actress has not been quiet in regards to her support for feminism, frequently campaigning for women's rights and starring in Marvel's first female-led superhero movie. So while it's unclear whether or not a Metroid movie is ever going to happen, it's harꦚd to imagine anyone bette💟r fit for the role.
This isn't the first time that Larson has said she's interested in playing Samus either. Back in 2018, Larson dressed as Zero Suit Samus for Halloween, at which point she first brought up the idea of making a Metroid movie. Two year🐻s later, it sounds like it's just going to take Nintendo and a m𒁃ajor studio to pull the trigger and make things happen.
Since Samus' 1986 debut, the hero has appeared in eight mainline Metroid games, the most recent being 2017's Metroid: Samus Returns on the 3DS, a remake of 1991's Metroid II: Return of Samus. Outside of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the hero has y⛄et to appear on the Nintendo Switch💦, another release that we're hoping to see some day.
While she waits for that call regarding a Metroid movie, Brie Larson has stayed pretty busy, launching her own in June and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:appearing on Gary Whitta's Animal Crossing talk show. She's also looking to reprise her role as Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel 2, which is slated for a 2022 release.
Considering just how frequently video games are being adapted to film and television, it seems as if Metroid making that jump is♕ just a matter of when and not if. When it finally does happen, we're certain there are many fans out there 𝐆who want Larson to play Samus as badly as she wants to herself.
